This plugin is really awesome.
I tried having more control over the dates on my websites but it’s a real hassle as you have to code in the php etc (I’m no developper).
This plugin made it super easy to do what I wanted to do.
I don’t know why there’s a 1 star review. The guy probably didn’t read the documentation.
If you need to have more control over the date you want to display anywhere on your website (via a shortcode) don’t hesitate! It’s very easy to use and the documentation has plenty of examples!

My group holds a monthly meeting, and it’s good to post the upcoming date on the front page.
But it’s always the Third Friday, so needs editing (when I remember!)
Now I also include the shortcode

and it changes automatically every month.

When I initially added this plugin, I tried to use it in a footer, which didn’t work (I should have known; the description of this plugin clearly says posts and pages). I sent email to denra support and got a quick response that led me to the Shortcodes Anywhere or Everywhere plugin. That plugin made it possible to put a short code in the footer.
Be aware that the Shortcodes Anywhere or Everywhere plugin has not been updated in quite a while, but it worked (at least for footers) in WordPress 5.4.
