After the last update, all CSS adjustments are ignored. In general, there is the problem that the CSS code in the plugin is sometimes read and sometimes not read. The dark mode looks different every day because individual codes are always ignored.
Please also solve the problem with “Background 2 Color” for transparencies! If I have text on photos or videos in Elementor, the entire transparent background is given a background color by the dark mode. This means that images and videos are overlaid with color. It would be nice if you could generally set each element individually for the dark mode in Elementor, without time-consuming CSS code and !important tags. The !important tags in the dark mode in particular make the process of customizing difficult.

I’m the guy who digs into code of plugins very often and identifies all the glitches and bad design decisions to improve performance.
But what I found here: I couldnt trust my eyes.
For every single page load a user does on your page, this plugin does an AJAX call (which in fact means it initializes the whole WP setup a second time in the background including DB connection etc) just to fetch a single option from the DB (which they could just output at the first pageload).
So in fact, page load will double because of this INSANE fail of design.
Luckily, you can alter the AJAX URL to a non existing one which leads to a fail of AJAX call (i.e. the ajax call will not hit your server again).
add_filter( 'wp_dark_mode_json', function($localize_scripts)
{
$localize_scripts['ajax_url'] = 'any non existing URL here...';
$localize_scripts['url']['ajax'] = 'any non existing URL here...';
return $localize_scripts;
}, 10, 1);

WP Dark Mode is a fantastic plugin that does exactly what it promises—instantly creates a dark mode version of your website with no hassle. The setup couldn’t be easier; just activate the plugin, and it automatically adjusts to the user’s operating system preference. The one-click toggle feature is incredibly user-friendly and a perfect addition to any website. Highly recommended for anyone looking to enhance their site’s accessibility and user experience. A must-have plugin!

I just wanted a toogle for enabling dark mode on my admin part of the site so I could work in peace at night, this plugin comes with “shared” analytics, PREMIUM for this, premium for that, everywhere and it slowed both my admin and my front-end.

The plugin is easy to use and does the job in both the site and admin console. I had some issues placing it on the sidebar (I couldn’t get it to centre itself in the column), but nothing a little CSS hack couldn’t fix.

I really appreciate the technical support on this plug-in. Although it is a rare case to cause the issue, the support members worked hard and finally fixed it.

Plugin looks good, but I don’t recommend it, because it creates an annoying large banner at the top.
And you can’t disable it until write custom CSS or buy the plugin.
So I decide to remove it. I don’t want to continue to test it with this banner

Haven’t used much yet. But it seemed like a good product.

In my opinion WP Dark Mode is one of the most useful and ambitious plugins for WordPress.? I’ve been impressed with its customisation and management options, that are available in the Pro version, and I really hope this great plugin continues to get better.? If you are used to fully customising the look of your website using CSS, the introduction of a Dark Mode option will bring even more challenges, as it must work not only with WordPress, but all additional plugins as well.? Luckily the support staff has been incredibly fast and effective at resolving issues that I’ve had. ? I highly recommend this plugin and its team.

And if that is not enough, the functionality is not really great (if it works). It’s not worth getting pro or even installing.
But the main issue is that they are using design tricks to make you subscribe (weird button placement, choosing blending colors) while making the unsubscribing process a chore. If it’s even possible – posts on forum suggest that unsubscribing doesn’t work. I’m so glad I used temporary e-mails.

Along with this plugin you get really amazing support from the developers who are very willing to help you if there is any problem. Which I really appreciate. And they have helped me several times already :).
I was looking for a suitable plugin for dark mode for my site, and WP Dark Mode suits me best because it can display all elements on the site in very pleasant dark shades.

Avoid this plug-in! Your eyes will be exposed to a nuclear bright white flashes for any page rendering; Going to posts, to pages, to editing. Tested in Firefox on FreeBSD.

This plugin is very useful and works quite better than other plugins available in the market. The support team helped me throughout to configure and setup everything. I am glad to see that it’s working perfectly on my website just the way I wanted. Thank you!

We have used WP darkmode Ultimate now for over 2 years. It took quite a bit of refining in the initial install of the plugins as our theme is very lightweight to support our integrations and interactivity with the end user in mind. We have tried each version since the 5.x.x release of the basic plugin and version 3.0.x of the ultimate plugin.
When updating to version 5.x.x of any minor release since, we loose all the custom CSS that our team spent months refining as our site is heavy with integrations. We finally got it about 95% there after approx 6 months and our users LOVED IT.
Now the bad, when the new major release was done in FEB, we tried to update to it and it was a HUGE mistake as it broke almost every aspect of our sites CSS. We spent about 5 days trying to see if we could replicate the old site look and it was impossible, forcing us to revert back to the 4.x.x release of the standard plugin.
We have noted 4 minor releases since and not a single one addresses the issues we are seeing. I have tried to remove all custom CSS with an even worse result. Our community requires the dark mode as it is a research platform and you can spend hours on it and the compliments about the dark mode reduces their eye strain over time which makes this a priority to us.
Our team has even ventured at developing our own theme to eliminate the need for darkmode plugins all together but as anyone knows, this is no easy task and we hate to see tens of thousands of dollars go down the drain for the site developments we have already invested.
My suggestion, if you are experiencing this issue yet it is a requirement, roll back to the version 4.x.x release if you previously used the plugin. We truly hope to see these issues resolved before we make another major investment into the framework of our WP site.

Looks pretty, too many features in a convoluted settings view. Should be a no-brainer to setup. Site about 10-20 times faster since deleting it.

Options > Performance > Choose Dark Mode behavior to enhance the performance.
This plugin slows your website, prioritizing plugin load speed over website load speed.
You can’t change this unless you buy premium for $50 for 1 year updates. It’s over expensive for a little plugin anyway.
2. There is no option to erase all plugin data before uninstalling.
3. It doesn’t instantly switch to dark/light, takes a second.
