You should be able to enter any valid class-name, including characters like % (percentage) etc. They are useful for some purposes.

This Plugin is very useful if you have to deal with customers wanting to individualize their website but don’t have the necessary knowledge to do so. The Plugin lets you add individual css classes which are added to the body tag either individually for each page or globally for every page. This Plugin is extremely useful and lightweight and I would recommend it anytime. ??

This really simplified the process of assigning custom CSS to only specific pages without the need to add endless filters in my sites child theme. Now I can easily have a specific css ruleset for certain pages that follow the same design layout, e.g. portfolio pages.
Personally I feel that this is the type of functionality that should be included in the WordPress Core.
