Anyone had any luck running WP Content slideshow on the iPhone?
It runs smoothly on iPad IOS but refuses to run past the first slide on the iPhone.
I was wondering if forcing the wp-content-slideshow iPhone page to run one of the javascript routines would work?

This error keeps the images from displaying.
I believe it is a deprecated code in a function: line 96 in wp-content-slideshow.php

The problem is that I cannot find new specs to solve this issue.

Hi everybody,

I’m using this plugin and I like it very much, the developer(s) did a great job, it works like a charm. I have a question, when I add an image on my page through wordpress, i’d like that this image get resized from its bigger size.

Because when I add an image with a height of 1000px and a width of 500px, it always takes the width for reference and it’s like the rest of my image is cropped. I’ve tried to change things in the plugin css and doesn’t give the result I’d like to..

I believe this thing can be fixed in the content-slideshow.php page in PHP, something maybe like “if width is superior of the height then use with at 100% and height auto ? just thinking..

I hope you understang what I mean, if you don’t, then ask ??

your plugin worked for me like a charm, after doing some modifications in the css. Really cool IF someone is in need of sth like this -like me.

But as soon as i installed a plugin for image responsiveness, i can no longer see any image preview in my content slideshow.

I hope there is a fix for that. i would be gratefull to any help, because my final choice is to deactivate content-slideshow plugin for the sake of responsiveness -which is something i don’t want.

The slider is working well, except, that the fade effect (or any transition effect for that matter) is not working.

All the slider shows when it is on the fade mode is the image. Is this a known issue?

I discovered that my slideshow appeared in the DOM but would not display on the web page. Through some backtracking this turned out to be a bug between WP-Content-Slideshow and the latest jQuery release – v1.8.2.

I have reverted back to the last stable compatibility release of jQuery v1.7.2 and I suggest you all do the same for now.

I just installed your slider today and its exactly what I’m looking for. The only problem is that I can’t figure out how to extend the size of the whole slider or the main image without there being white space there. The maximum picture size is 300px and no matter what I change it stays that way. I tried changing the settings and I even went into the CSS and tried to change the PHP code and that still didn’t work. Any advice?

The featured images on the pages I want to include in the slide show are a different size than the size I want to use in the slide show. In other words, on the page the size is 240×160 but in the slide show I want to use 630×250. I can adjust the ratios somewhat, but I can’t very easily resize the featured image on its page to fit a 630×250 into a 240 wide area. And if I use the 240×160 in the slideshow, it’s all stretched out and looks awful.

Is it possible to add options to the shortcode that would use a different image? (i.e. the 630×250 instead of the 240×160) If not, how have others solved this problem (I can’t be the only one). Please advise. Many thanks!

Hi, from all the crappy sliders that populate the wp plugins directory you seem to have the brightest concept of how a slider could be tightly integrated into a cms – so first my gratulations! I am checking many sliders atm and can not believe what kind of BS is out there… yours is an exception, thank you!

However, some limitations could be removed to make it even better:

• please remove the nonsensical limit of only 5 slides – I need 7 slides, but it should be possible to use 20 if needed – why do you put this limit? How can I change it?
• It would be really great to optionally use the first post image instead of the featured image, I explain why: the featured image may be used for other purposes already, e.g. header or shown in a page listing or whatever, and therefor it usually looks different or has a size that will not fit into the slider. Using the first post / page image optionally would make the plugin incredibly flexible, I think it is not too hard to extract the first post image (I will check on that, if I stay with your slider).
• It should be possible to have more control of the displayed post / page text, or optionally use the_excerpt. ATM the displayed text is cut in a way, that is not usable for most sites.
• moer control of image and displayed text is needed – I want to show a box with two columns, image left and text right, this is not possible with your plugin
• of course there should be a way to define multiple slides

Hi, Thanks for the great plugin!I’m using it on one of my websites https://www.languageonthemove.com and everything is going OK except delayed appearance on the first page. Exactly, when I select “Featured post” in admin panel, the post appears in the slider 24-48 hours instead immediately. I do not use any caching plugins on the website and I also tried to use but it does not work too. I was wondering if you could help me with it because my first page slider features “Latest blog posts” but they show up in 1-2 days Thanks a lot for any help.

Looks like the hyperlinks in the slideshow are all anchor tags… not real links. So this plugin assumes the stories are further down the page…

Does anyone know how to change this to properly link through? Without hacking the plugin?
