I backed up my 1.46MB site in February 2024 and it worked fine. I click on Create Backup, choose to do it with WP Clone, which returns the message: Error 404, page not found”. NOTE: my site is not fat, and I do not need or want to try a another plugin. I want to know why WP clone does not back up like it did 6 weeks ago, and how to fix it. Thanks in advance.

I’m updating a site for a client. There are several very large tmp files with the naming convention “wpclone_backup_Jan_2018…tmp”. These are all directly in the uploads folder, not within a wp-clone folder.

Is this an old storage convention for this plugin? Is there any way I can delete these files with the current version of the plugin? I don’t have FTP access right now unfortunately. And the plugin interface is only looking for backup files within the uploads/wp-clone folder so it’s not finding these other backups.

The plugin crashed my wordpress website. I disabled all the plugins, and logged into the site. After logging in I was unable to successfully enable WP Clone. This is the error message I got:

I was also unable to delete the pluggin. So I removed it from the wp_options table in the database, and removed it from the wp-content/plugins directory.

I have sites backed up on WP Clone in zip format but cannot find a way to re install them. I have uploaded to another site and got the link or used a hosting service.
I’ve watched videos, searched the web and cannot find anything that works, could somebody PLEASE HELP?

I have a site on Godaddy Managed WordPress which we will move to Strato non-managed.
I suspect that the managed installation has quite a bit of code and possibly database entries that I don’t want on the non-managed installation.
Does the plugin support to filter this?

Keep getting the following error message when trying to copy backup URL to a new domain name. The original domain backup file is only 382 MB and seems to be created ok.

I get an error every time I try to restore a backup.

It accepts my backup, and starts the process, and then I get an error almost immediately.

Team firstly your plugin is great I am having issues when migrating the site either on same server or different server. The percentage sign in my post or sliders or like in WooCommerce orders also get replaced with junk characters for example {asadad….} the string is long though. Any help will be much appreciated as i need do the critical migration and i trust only this plugin ??

Now we want to get the site going again however, I can only see restore from a url not a zip folder.

my shared-hosting has multiple addon domains and multiple projects are being done parallel. The same host I used last week to transfer/clone one of the websites to other servers (clients) without any issue. So I won’t consider server or host being a problem.

Hi team! I have my sites hosted with NameHero and I design them using Brizy Pro. I create wedding website designs and I want to start offering different pre-made templates for my clients to choose from. So I’d create different demo sites and then copy those demos into my clients’ domains.
I wanted to know:
– Does this plugin work with my host company and builder?
– Will my designs made in Brizy be copied correctly too?

I know sometimes clone plugins copy everything except the designs made with the page builders. But since I design everything on Brizy Pro it is important for me to be prepared and choose the right plugin.

– Also, is there a limit to the number of times I can make a copy of a demo?
– And I am guessing that my demo will not suffer any changes after I have used this plugin to copy it for a client, right?
– Then, after the copy has been made, do I keep the plugin active on both websites or can it be removed?

SSL is ok, I’ve regenerated it from the hosting and the same problem. I’ve installed really simple ssl and everything is ok.

Your plugin used to work like a charm, but when I am about to import the copy that was recently backed up, it doesn’t migrate all the content such as the CSS, pages links are broken and other theme colors. Now, the site that I want to migrate was located in a subdomain to be restored in a regular domaiin. Does that matter?

Hi – I selected create backup and pressed go, the screen tab showed a whirly to indicate that the backup was allegedly happening. Then it stopped whirring and the screen stayed blank. I pressed scan and repopulate and an earlier backup suddenly materialised but not the one I’d just attempted. i.e. no backup took place.

Is there a solution to this please?

Using the WP Clone plugin, I completed migrating my WordPress website from a subdirectory (nobleworld.org/online) to the new subdomain (online.nobleworld.org) at my Siteground hosting server. After this nearly successful migration using the said plugin, under Woocommerce>Status>database, I see this error message:

“Missing base tables: joc_wc_download_log. Some WooCommerce functionality may not work as expected.”

How to get rid of the above error? Please help.

I transferred a site with the clone URL. But the images did not transfer. The folders with the images are not in the uploads folder.

I’m getting error 500 when downloading the zip file generated from wpclone.

When I connect to my webhost using FileZilla FTP Client and delete the htaccess in the folder wp-content/uploads/wpclone file it works as it should.

I assume that there is a problem with the content of your htaccess file and the webserver configuration.

The htaccess file in the wordpress root folder is:
