Hi I just installed wpbdm today (v.3.2.3). Form fields are so narrow it is hard to enter much information. I don’t see any template that would allow me to customize the form fields, and though I took a look at the css file I didn’t see anything there either that might be responsible, though I’m not a programmer. In case you ask, I haven’t uploaded any css files to my theme.

Zero support, zero updates, really hard to edit or fix with the way it was craeted. Great basic concept, really needs to be picked up and continued. Lots of little bugs that keeps it from working correctly.

Hello,

I’m beginning a directory website here in my area. This plugin is great. However, when I click on a category it says “No listings found in category”. On the Listing main page(where it shows the categories) it actually returns a proper number of listings in that category. Any direction would be greatly appreciated.

Hi, I have gotten everything working, but now find that I can show more than 10 listings in any category and most of our members are in the same category. How and where can I correct this? All help is appreciated.

Can I somehow change the listing setting so that the categories shown in the “business genre” section are listed by their category order rather than alphabetically?

I am not a PHP expert so please excuse my naivety. I am very happy with WPBDM, easy to use and configure. The only question I have is how do you remove the field labels?

Rather than:

Business Name: ABC Corp

I want it to say:
ABC Corp
And I would like it to default to the site theme css so it is consistent with rest of page.

I am currently running Version 1.9.1 and the directory is listed by published date. Is it possible to have the directory listed alphabetically?

I did find this loop, but it doesn’t work for me.

Replace the loop in you templates with this one (the number 40 can be decreased or increased as per your liking):
….. $posts=query_posts($query_string . ‘&orderby=title&order=asc&showposts=40′);
if (have_posts()) : while (have_posts()) : the_post(); …..

Any one had any luck with this?

There is no documentation about it,.. so, for those how doesnt know, it’s easy:

1.OPEN the file wpbusdirman.pot with POEDIT(or other).
2.Save the file with this name:

WPBDM-es_ES.mo —>(spanish)
or
WPBDM-it_IT.mo —>(italian)
or
etc…

EASY..

I have:

1 – designated the email field to show up in listing exceprt.
2 – I have set the following: manage options > Miscellaneous settings > Override email Blocking? > Yes

When I try to add an ampersand (&) to the name of a listing or in a category name, the listing does not appear within the categories.

Maybe I’m being really stupid, but I can’t find anywhere in the documentation or the back-end for uploading images to the business directory listings.

How can I do this?

First of all thanks so much for this plugin, it’s pretty awesome!

Issue:
When I add a new listing via website “submit listing”, it goes through the whole process of filling out the forms and everything, but it doesn’t add any listings. I don’t get any error messages or anything, I have actually changed the settings to make the listing to be “pending” or “publish”, but that doesn’t seem to make a difference.

The only time I am able to add listings is when I do it directly from the WP Cpanel.

Any help would be very appreciated!

I am trying to get this plugin up and working. I have added two listings to the directory. The plugin directory main page posts two listings above my header and one listing below. Any help would be appreciated!

I’m so close to having your great plugin working on WPMU. I created the single file and added the pages as outlined in your instructions for customizing the plugin for my theme. Only I am using it as a second instance of the plugin (so to speak).

Everything is working great except the call for the thumbs/images. Looking at the source code I discovered that the plugin is calling the images from the main blog upload files (wp-content/uploads/wpbdm) and not the sub-blog uploads (wp-content/blogs.dir/3/files/wpbdm) even though the images are uploading there.

Do you know of any work arounds?

Installed, and created three pages as described. Created sample Category and Directory. However nothing shows up on pages. Tried resetting permalink also. The only place I see something working is when I enter a new Directory entry and click View Post, it shows the entry (albeit page layout is out).

I would like to make a drop down jump menu of all the categories for the WP Business directory in my sidebar, does anyone know how to do this?

I followed the directions for this plugin to add the following code to view the directory, [WPBUSDIRMANUI]. I wasn’t expecting the ‘Submit Listing’ button. How do I remove it? I want one page to show the listing and I want to create another page to submit listing separately. I don’t want the pages connected because I don’t want everyone to have access to submit listings but want everyon to be able to view the directory. Any suggestions?

We could all donate a small amount of money and get a freelance prgrammer to fix all the bugs in it………There are freelance programing sites where you can send in your requests and have them fixed or written by someone who bid on the work………as the last post by Themestown for support was 6 months ago it would seem the best way forward would be to contract with a programmer that could fix many of the problems within a few weeks.

Upon activation, it immediately inserted 3 pages worth of Pages and subpages into my installation before I even configured the plugin. See this screenshot:

and multiply it 3 consecutive pages worth.
It also conflicted massively with other plug-ins, causing errors and slow-downs and 404 responses to saves and updates.

When I uninstalled it with the provided link, it did not really uninstall – it just removed the program from the Plugins listing page. It was still present in the Plugins directory and still left the massive amount of created pages in the Pages directory. It has taken me hours to resolve this mess.

Serious Fail.

Just wondering, as I installed this a while back but disabled it due to all the bugs that I were hoping would be fixed- however months on, and none have been fixed still, so looks to me like it’s buried?

I do like this directory and have to tell you I have looked at more than a few. I thought with 3.0 I could have a custom menu on a side bar. I created the custom menu. Added the categories from my Business categories but when you link on the menu items – you get all the listings not just the ones from the specific category.

Hi, I really REALLY like this plugin as it’s just what I needed. One thing I found was if there were more than 10 entries.g. 16, then only 10 would show in the listing even when pressing “older entries”or “newer entries”. I’ve worked around this by just splitting larger categories into smaller ones e.g. categoryname1, categoryname2 and so on.
The form fields can be a bit difficult to control, e.g. if you delete ones you don’t need you’ll suddenly find the email one is automatically created.
But anyway, I like it so far. Just one big request:PLEASE allow the email address be shown! I understand what you mean about avoiding spam but since customers are paying for the listing they expect their email to be shown. If not then can someone show me how to adjust the php to show email addresses please?
