Hi. Looks like the plugin doesn’t work properly with Litespeed cache plugin. The user from banned IP can see cached page and browse cached site. When the page is not cached everything is working fine.

1) There is a very lack of the ability to see on what basis a particular IP was banned. Please add Ban Reason in Ban Stats.
2) Also, if there are thousands of ips in the list (Ban Stats), then the page will take a very long time to load. It’s better to transfer statistics to a separate item

We have been using wp-ban to block bad referrer spam etc. and it has been working for us, but suddenly the client noticed this week that when he does a google search for “montebello home care beaumont tx” The hit that comes back says “You Are Banned” via the wp-ban plugin.
Disabling the plugin and resubmitting the URL via search console got the google result to return to normal, but enabling it causes the problem again. I checked the settings and there is nothing new in the list of banned servers (just the usual semalt, etc)
Here’s a screenshot of what the google result looks like with the plugin active:
We’d like to keep using Wp-Ban, as up until now it has been working fine, but i’ve had to disable it for the time being. The site’s WP core and all plugins including wp-ban are and have been kept up-to-date.

i have been developing my site and i deactivated all plugins to make the changes in the code
then after i finished i select all plugins which include ” WP-BAN ” and then i got a message that says ” your ip has been blocked by the administrator…”
but i haven’t even opened the configuration of the plugin i have one user banned from a long time
now i’m using just a vpn to access my site even if i tried to connect from another computer but seems like my router ip has been blocked !!

A few hours ago i installed WP-Ban.
After saving the settings, i got blocked. I only added a suspected hacker IP as well as changing the banned message.
I tried all the ways posted here to delete / edit files fom my ftp / phpmyadmin.
But i cannot find those files..or the codes..
I cant see them even in the wp-options.
The plugin isnt also listed in my plugins folder.
Please, Im desperate.My last backup was a few weeks ago and i have posted a number of posts already…

Is that stored somewhere besides in the plugin directory? Any suggestions?

I have been using your plugin for months now. I use it to block all IPs except for 7. For some reason it is now banning me. I have removed it via FTP and reinstalled it but as soon as I active it bans me again. Any help would be much appreciated.
]]>Our church site has been under attack for IP’s in the Russian Federation for a while now. I installed the WP Ban plug in with little success in at least slowing down the attempts. It is constantly jacking up our stats. I have blocked IP addresses and URL’s at no avail. It can be anywhere from 60 to over 900 attempts a day and I’m like REALLY. ]]>Okay, This is really embarrassing and totally my fault.
I found a couple of spam comments where coming from the same IP address and thought to help stop them from coming back, Id put the accompanying IP address in the plug in.
What appears to have transpired is me blocking the entire site, from… itself?

Is there anyway to fix this? Ive already checked the other posts but the only response if for people who have the sites downloaded to the their computers. As this is a team site, we edit using the online editor (which we can no longer get into)

Fixed it now but I was running my site perfectly then updated the WordPress and bang I can’t access my network because of a glitch with WordPress and the plugin. Not sure what it was.

With WP 3.8 the plugin admin page is blank – no settings options etc.
Anyone who has to use the WordPress 3.8 series should stick to WP Ban 1.65 and not upgrade after this version! If you have updated delete the plugin using FTP or server file manager (NOT the WordPress uninstall plugin method) to retain all your settings
Please no remarks about how bad it is to use an older WordPress version.

I ended up having to SSH onto the server and remove wp-ban manually.
