works incredible on a desktop, but after trying some agents on a mobile phone it seems not to work. it rename all the gpx files in tog *.gpx.txt (*=filename)

How to configure a custom type was a bit unclear, but I figured it out and it worked.

In the custom settings, I added

heif	= image/heif
heic	= image/heic

(You have to keep all your custom additions in that box. Don’t “add” one, then change it and “add” that one as well, or you’ll lose the first one.)

The other plugins I could not get to work for me were:
– File Upload Types by Wpforms
– WP Extra File Types (for HEIC)

I tried editing theme function file and another plugin – WP Extra File Types – to allow to upload .xlsb and .xlsm file types. Despite these file types appear on standard file types permitted to be uplpoades, I dont think they are part of standard file upload types, at least not with latest WordPress version. WP Add Mime Types was the only plugin which finally worked.Thank you for a great plugin!

I’ve been searching for a solution to uploading vector files (.ai & .eps) using a Gravity Form on my website. This is the easiest and only solution I have been able to find.

I have installed the plugin and uninstalled it for some reasons. But this caused my http 500 error. I dont know where is the problem. I try reinstalling to fix the issue but that also didnot help me.

I was expecting to just be able to list new file extensions (like you can in the settings of WordPress Multisite installs) but this plugin, whilst it works, makes something really simple actually really hard.

It is actually far simpler to just add this code to your theme’s function.php file

Okay it works but I really think it could be made a lot easier. There have to be a top 15 or so file types people want to add. Couldn’t the MIME type names for those be programmed in instead of making the user search for every one?

The big difference between WP then and WP now is …

back THEN you had to muck around with .php and other files.

but NOW you find a plugin that does the job. Which this plugin does brilliantly.

But c’mon, WordPress — add support for epub and mobi files already!

It is the simplest and most effective plugin for adding additional mime types to the media uploader. The other alternatives I tried gave me troubles. This one does one thing but does it well.
