This plugin knows there is no one-stop solution for accessibility, and it quietly works in the background to make some standard things better in the ways that it can. We install this on every client site and greatly appreciate its features as part of an overall culture of having an accessibility-focused mindset.

There are no magic solutions for a complete conversion of a site with accessibility standards but this plugin helps a lot and has discreet functionality. Support and development is also active making it a trustworthy option.

WP Accessibility works great and is a super valuable start to making WP sites more accessible. It’s huge help, thank you!

My theme doesn’t come with accessibility out of the box. WP Accessibility fixed some of those. Brilliant plugin and above all it is free.

A couple of weeks after I had settled on the theme for my website, I found out that the theme was not “accessibility ready.” Wanting to make sure my users could still access the content on my website without having to change themes, I found this plugin.
It provides some great features, including skip links, the ability to remove target attributes from links, an accessibility toolbar with large-text and high-contrast modes, and various other features. All of these can be toggled on or off depending on the needs of your website. The plugin is especially useful for beginner website creators.
Of course, it can’t provide everything that could be needed for user accessibility, but it does provide lots of fantastic features to help your website become more accessible. Thanks for creating and maintaining this plugin!

For an entry level user who has no idea where to start with accessibility this plugin would be a good start but by no means will this make your site entirely accessible.
It appears to be well developed but this plugin offers little to no value to an intermediate level user of WordPress who has already started to tackle accessibility. I wanted to try the plugin to force my authors to assign alt image attributes and it’s advertised as being able to force this but it fails, miserably. I was able to upload images and bypass the “suggestion” to include an alt so for me it didn’t work (and I’m not talking about marking the image as decorative to by-pass it, there is literally no validation on the alt field, it’s just a suggestion with a link).

Funciona bien, pero está falto de opciones. No entiendo porqué la opción de B&N sólo está para el administrador.

This plugin offers some quick fixes for quite a few different ADA checklist items.
Some features work out of the box, while others require a bit of configuration or customization.
Great plugin support as well!

WP Accessibility is a great plugin. It works perfectly and it is very easy to customize.
When I activated it, I had a problem. It didn’t depend on WP Accessibility (it was a plugin conflict) and it wasn’t easy to find. I wrote to Joe Dolson asking for a support and in a few he answered me. After 1 hour he gave me the solution.
My voluntary social commitment concerns on cultural accessibility so I have gained many experiences in this field and I can say that this plugin is really usefull.
The best mix for a plugin is made by the value of it and the support efficacy.
This plugin has the perfect mix!

When using accessibility-ready themes such as twentyseventeen, you’ll find some of the heavy lifting has been done for you. The WP Accessibility plugin recognises these features in themes, hides these options from the plugin settings, and tells you what great work has already been done!
Four disabled features: Site language, continue reading text, landmark roles and standard form labels are defined in your accessibility-ready theme
Still plenty of other options in the WP Accessibility plugin that makes life easy. Don’t hesitate to install across all WordPress sites. Learn a thing or two from using the plugin. Apply the principles to other non-WordPress sites too. ??

installed this had a small issue with avada theme, and sorted that out with theme dev, and now the site droped from 106 errors on wave to just 6, seems like contact-form 7 ainit so accessible friendly.

Easy to use, great for users.

I have a very high-key color scheme on my site – and yet didn’t want to compromise the readability for those with vision issues. So I’ve customized this plugin to do exactly what I want: offer the “soft” look to visitors who have average eyesight; and a “more readable” look for those with vision impairments or older eyeballs.
To achieve this, I’ve adapted the font size css to also contain font color overrides as well; and disabled the other buttons as I feel they aren’t necessary with my adaptation.
I was able to override the font size stylesheet via a addon plugin that you’ve already made available, which is awesome.
I didn’t need help – but I get the sense from the support forums that if I did, Joe would be right on it.
Overall, a really nice way to provide an alternative css sheet for those who need it, while still maintaining the branded look of the original style for the average user.
My great uncle (my surrogate grandpa, in his early 90s) already enjoys use of this button – it’s not just for the handicapped!
The other features of this plugin are super-useful too – I’m also utilizing the skiplinks, title stripping, ect.
I’ve made my thanks in the way of a donation via paypal already; but thanks again for this useful code!

It completely erased my search bar, which wasn’t really what I had in mind for fixing the problems my theme had with properly labelling it. That happens whether I check the box to fix labels on search boxes or not – just having the plugin active wipes it out.
That’s one major issue, but if I can fix that, at least one other feature is working perfectly after I spent a fair bit of time trying to do it in a child theme: adding the post title to the “read more” text.

Hi dear Joe
Today is the “Thank a WordPress Plugin/Theme Author Day 2016”, this is a great opportunity to express my gratitude and thank you for all the work you do. Without your dedication in making WP plugins, WP wouldn’t be what it’s now.
Thank you from the bottom of my heart
Jakob
