I have been using a notification bar plugin with just 1000 downloads and I decided to change to something that has more downloads thinking it would have more featured. But this plugin barely has any options unless you get the PRO version. I’m not sure why the others have given it 5 stars. It barely has any options.

When deselecting the “enabled” checkbox in the settings page and saving, it just revers back to selected after the page refreshes and the plugin remains active. Have to deactivate the plugin on the plugins page for it to be gone

Having tried near everything I’m capable of and what I could find elsewhere, I just couldn’t get WordPress Notification Bar to work nicely with DIVI theme.

This plugin does what it’s supposed to do and is easy to use.
Yet I might discard it because upon activation, in the back end there are 2 php notices for undefined index page coming from wp-content/plugins/wordpress-notification-bar/inc/class-plugin.php:126 & 144.
In the front end, there are no notices anymore.

I’ve been using the plugin for a while now on https://impromocoder.com/. It does what it says, and it is very simple to setup and run.
I only wish for a few simple features that could make it way, way better.
There is no option for the user to close the bar.
There are no stats to see whether users interact with the bar. Meaning, there’s no way for me to see what version (text) performs better.
Very few customization options (only the color of the bar, but not the color of the button, or its form).
I know some people mention what can you ask for in a free plugin? Well, I disagree with that statement, I think you can ask for a lot. Especially when free plugins are a platform to promote other (premium) plugins.
Anyways, it case it sounds like a rant, it isn’t. I am using the plugin for some time now as I write the review, meaning, all in all, it’s simpleness and lightweight outweigh it’s shortages (to me), so all in all, I do recommend using the plugin, only hope for improvements on some pretty basic features.

Love the simplicity and functionality, but wish it had one more feature: once a user presses close, dont keep showing it. Having to hit close on every page becomes tedious and isnt a great user experience.

Some few options like dates where to enable and automatically disable notification bad (just like in Easy Heads Up Bar plugin) would be nice.
Also notification bar shouldn’t be displayed on wp-admin pages/backend. But those are minor details, overall – it’s a very good plugin. Easy and simple – does what it should do, I am pleased. Option with following bar always at the top visible of the page is amazing.
