Please be sure to read the documentation for the plugin so you know for sure your web host supports it.
EZ Backup is NOT designed to work on “Shared Hosting”
GoDaddy
HostGator
and others etc.
This is a plugin developed to work alongside the system itself to allow full size backups to be created without hitting any limitations of PHP. That being said you will not be able to use this plugin if your web host does not allow access to all the required functions.
All required functions are listed in the documentation.
Also note WordPress support forums do not send an email upon posting. Please e-mail me for support at [email protected]
Everyone over the past few years that is using EZ Backup & have donated as well as purchased addons. I want to take the time to say Thank you for your support.

]]>Hi there!
After i installed this Plugin i keep getting this message status “sorry but your webhost does not allow the shell command to be executed… your webhost has safe mode enabled for PHP”. Is there any workaround to fix this or should i contact my webhost and ask them to enable this?

]]>I just installed version 7.0.6 and receive the following error when attempting a backup. All of my settings are correct.
/home/auctgrow/public_html/wp-content/plugins/wordpress-ez-backup/functions/routine/backup.sh: line 16: /home/auction/public_html/wp-content/plugins/wordpress-ez-backup/functions/routine/functions.sh: Permission denied
Also, I purchased your cron addon, but I can only enable it for a single site. How do I manually activate it for my other sites?
Thanks in advance,
Eric

]]>I updated the plugin to 6.0.x some days ago and tried out today, but it seems to have a problem in finding the backup-folder (when I try to backup, the popup shows only my website with “page not found”-message). Than I found out, that there is a new 7.0.4 Version, which I installed now. But there is the same error.
Earlier versions (4.x) were working.
Any suggestions?
Thanx Bernhard

/home/mysite/public_html/site/wp-content/plugins/wordpress-ez-backup/functions/functions.sh: line 87: `else
And the backup does not run. This error was reported a year ago on a different support ticket.
Also, when clicking “go to website” in the plugin I get this error: Parse error: syntax error, unexpected ‘{‘ in /home/lastnigh/public_html/wp-content/plugins/wordpress-ez-backup/wp-ezbackup.php on line 23

I’m getting this error when running the script. I did a chmod on folder to 777 to make sure that wasn’t causing problems.
Here’s the error:
/home/architecture/www/wp-content/plugins/wordpress-ez-backup/functions/functions.sh: line 87: syntax error near unexpected token else
/home/architecture/www/wp-content/plugins/wordpress-ez-backup/functions/functions.sh: line 87: else
Any ideas on how to rectify this?
Thanks,

I have the same problem as digigirl, but her thread was closed due to inactivity.
My install of EzBackup is working great, except it’s not emailing the resulting backup, despite settings all apparently in order.
Other plugins are able to send emails. Does EZBU use a different mail transmission method than usual?

]]>this plugin works tested on relatively small sites. When used on larger, live sites the plugin fails completely. These are 3.5G and 17G sites respectively. I put in a ticket (USN2B79DQS)and emailed as they have a ‘quibble-free money back’ policy. Well it is ‘quibble-free’ because they are not quibbling, but then they are not communicating or paying either. If you had my experience would you want to use them again? Money wasted. I have now bought buddybackup which manages these large sites no problem.
