This was one of the best plugins to backup your wordpress installations to dropbox without any restrictions. It was great while it worked. After dropbox changed their api, the plugin stopped working. Hopefully someone will resurrect this plugin for the new dropbox plugin.

Dropbox has changed their API service, reading the support topics conclusion is that this plugin is not going to update to the API 2.
So it has become worthless.
Pity, it used to be great!

Does not work with my, up to date WP installation. Shame. Same error others are getting.

If you have a website that’s 40GB, and you have to move it from a hard disk that’s 50GB, this plugin will do it- in a smart and slow way(no timeouts, just chilling) ??

Simple, reliable backup plugin. Does exactly what I need and nothing more – perfect!

Tried other WordPress Dropbox plug-ins. They didn’t for for me. This one does the job. Quick and easy. I get the feeling this is a solo dev working (almost) for free. Can you buy premium extensions, but you don’t need them.
I’m leaving this review cuz I’ve just intalled on my second blog. Recommended.

It just backs up my site. Nothing more. Nothing less. Super easy. No headaches
Bought the premium plugins and these are almost a must but still it’s only $15 for a site so totally worth it.
Love your work Michael

Useless because the developer has never released a working version of the restore plugin.
So, after a year of false security, watching my site being backed up each week, when the crap hit the whilrling blades and I really need it, there’s no possibility of a Restore.
Wish I’d read the other poor reviews before relying on it.

I installed this plugin and started the process of Backing up. It started running and after 15 minutes timed out with an error.
I deactivated and deleted the plugin but it kept trying to run in the background and took my site down by overloading the Memory and then created 2.3GB of files in its directory.
Worst wordpress plugin I have ever tried to use. Stay away.

I adjust the days and time several times, but nothing.

This used to work just fine, but I am removing this plugin from all my websites as it throws gigantic error logs. 1065MB for instance which fills all available disk space.
I was hoping they would note this and make a change, but they have not. So sadly I say goodbye.

WPB2D is a great utility: It’s simple and it works. Having an automated backup really gives you a nice peace of mind. Would have rated it five stars, but it doesn’t run under PHP 7.0. If you are running PHP 5.6 or older, you’ll be fine.

I’ve been using the plugin for a while hoping it would “work” at some point. I love the idea of having a backup in my dropbox. But, I’ve had issues with this since I installed it. Error logs are going crazy. I’ve yet to get a complete backup. I’ve given this more than a chance and I’m uninstalling.

I use two backup plugins for my site: BackUpForWordPress and this one. The first one creates backups in a subfolder of my site and provides an easy link to download the zip file.
I had been merrily going along assuming this plugin was regularly backing up my site to DropBox. Not so. I just checked and there were no complete backups in DrobBox. I, as other users have reported, was getting incessant notifications that image files were being updated. I was puzzled because these were files that normally don’t change, so I can only conclude that this plugin was continuously attempting to backup my site but only managed to change a few files with each attempt.
I am giving the harsh 1 star because of all things, a backup solution must be bullet proof to be of any use. I am glad i’m also using another plugin; users who rely on this one might be in for a nasty surprise if they need to restore.

I’ve used this plugin on multiple sites for over a year, but now it’s creating larger error files. Hope an update someday resolves this. It’s been brought up in forums, with no update yet. I’m switching.

Worked well for me. Thanks!

Semplice e immediato da utilizzare, backup programmabili. Una volta impostato (veramente facilissimo anche per i novelli di WordPress) fa il suo lavoro a dovere.

Set my backup to go – 24 hours later it’s still backing up files. Seems to get bored after about 5 minutes every hour then wakes itself up again on the next hour. No idea when it will finish.
Crazy slow.

How do I restore my website?
Restoring can be a complicated process because every host is different. You can try and follow the steps in this blog post, if that does not work I would consult your web developer for help.
what kind of answer is that ……??????

Very good plugin. Does what it says. It backups my WordPress and dbfiles when installed on my first website, however, it does not work on the second website. I don’t know if it’s a server issue or on the plugin itself.

Works fine, thanks!
Just one warning: if you change many files on your site, it takes plenty of server resources to do the backup, to the point that the server provider may ask to upgrade.
I ended up with the following protocol:
I use Dropbox syncing application on my home comp.
I let the plugin handle minor updates to the site (a few files + any DB changes).
In case I do a major change on my live site (a major upgrade to WP or change in a large plugin), I run rsync to synchronize the Dropbox directory on my home comp with my site. The Dropbox application synchronizes then it with Dropbox; after that the plugin just backs up the database.

Sucks CPU time 24 hours/day. It’ll pause for 5 minutes at a time, then restart, and back up a few files in 5 minutes, then pauses again. It still uses CPU time while paused.
I thought it’d be faster if I purchased the zip plugin; that took twice as long as the non-zip version, and still didn’t finish.
I switched to a competing plugin, which finished in minutes vs. hours for this one.

After trying another “best free” backup app that not only didn’t work but has yet to refund my money, I found myself peeved and hunting for an alternative solution.
With the free version of WPB2D installed, I ran into a minor hiccup and contacted the programmer. He responded quickly and walked me through a variety of known issues. I found the culprit and got things working, so I bought the compression and email add-ons.
Everything’s working great and I’m pleased.
Thank you!
