I have been searching for this perfect solution to adding free shipping to individual items. Creating a zone and class for free shipping does not work unless a customer buys only the free shipped item. If other items were added to the cart “free shipping” would appear along with other choices for shipping. If a choice was made the free shipped item was included in the shipping charge. This plug in removed the item from the shipping charges and only charges for any items not marked for free shipping. It dispalys free shipping if only that item is ordered and removes that line if others are added. Exactly how it should work. Thank you for such a simple solution to a major problem, This should be part of woocommerce!

Just what I needed, thank you.

Exactly what I was looking for, glad I read one of the previous reviews about the class slug needing to be free-shipping
Great work!!!!

Took a while to get to work. The problem was I has class slug is “free_shipping” and not “free-shipping”. Works well once you get it right.

It can be so easy.

Just needed to offer free shipping on a single product but if it was bundled with products that required shipping the free shipping option needed to be removed and this plugin did just that. Very simple to use.

After spending a stupid amount of time trying to get Woo to achieve this, I downloaded this plugin and had it working in less than 5 minutes. Thank you!

be sure and use this exact slug and name “free-shipping” or you will have problems setting it up.

It gave free shipping to products not in free shipping. Causing me to loose money or the customer. DOES NOT WORK.

Solves the problem at hand and nothing more. Perfect.

Having tried all of the other free shipping plugins, this is the only one that actually works.
All the other plugins I tested will override products which do have a shipping costs, if a Free Shipping Class Item is added to the cart. Which is of course, absolutely useless.
This plugin however works logically and if an item is placed in the cart which does not qualify for Free shipping, the shipping cost for the item is shown.
Brilliant!

I am just a regular user of Woocommerce but I found this plugin to be helpful. I think it would be make even better if there was an over-ride option included so that if someone purchases an item that doesn’t have free shipping with an item that has free shipping you can choose to offer free shipping for the entire purchase. As it is I will have to refund shipping if I want to do this, which is another unnecessary step in the process which means a lot for a sole trader/solo business owner like me.

Works well for me. I had to re-read the instructions after setting it up incorrectly and it didn’t work. I saw a review specifying the exact slug to use (which is the same as in the setup screen shots). After I made sure it was exactly the same it all works really well.
A real relief to find a plugin that works.
I use their other plugin Australia Post Pro and it works with that, may perform differently for others.
The only reason I didn’t give 5stars is I can’t toggle off the ‘signature’ and ‘insurance’ just for the free product.

I’m confused and exhausted now. I only need to make one product have Free shipping, the other products need more than one delivery option. I created a Shipping Zone for Free Shipping and a Standard Shipping one. Then assigned free delivery to the one product, but when I test this out, the product comes up as Flat rate (Standard). So I removed Standard, but the free shipping product still comes up with a delivery price. This is what happens in Chrome, then in Safari, the opposite happens, everything is Free Shipping!

As I saw a mix of opinions in the reviews, I decided to add my 2 cents.. This extension works perfectly, even in combination with other similar extensions that offer the “Free Shipping by Product” as a paid upgrade.
What I did to make it work: Go to Zones, add the Free Shipping per Product method to the zones you want to offer it at (awesome!). Next go to Shipping Classes and create a class called free-shipping (well, at least the slug needs to be free-shipping). Then go to each product you want to offer free shipping on and change the class to the free shipping class you just created.
Wham! Free shipping only for those products and it wont show up when the customer has other items in the cart that are not eligible for free shipping, yet it doesnt consider the weight of the free shipping item. Thank you developer!

Does exactly what I need it to do.
Also checked to make sure if there is a mix of product in the cart it will calculate the shipping correctly for those items for which shipping is charged.
Simple, straightforward, works.
I will be donating !

Great idea! And it would be really useful
Unfortunately it doesn’t work for me. ??

5* for the plugin, does exactly what I needed it to do ??
One feature request if there is any development in the future, would be nice to be able to change the description at check out. “Fee Shipping” is fine, but for my products I like “Shipping Included”better.

After spending a ridiculous length of time trying to get free shipping working on certain products using the shipping class feature, this plugin SAVED me! It works perfectly, even with a mixed cart.
Thank you so much!

A simple plug in which works exactly as I expected. I tried lots of other plugins before this, none of them worked as I wanted. I’m using this along with the built in Flat Rate to charge shipping on the products I want to.

Installed, follwed instructions but when product that is assigned free shipping is in Cart all it did was crash the cart (white paged it)
Uninstalled. sorry
]]>Rating: 1 star
This plug-in doesn’t work if there is a product in the cart that DOESN’T have free shipping. It’s really not “per-product”.
]]>Rating: 2 stars
If some items in the cart aren’t free, it charges shipping for everything at whatever other rate is available – or fails to calculate the other rate (Jetpack’s USPS extension).

I followed the instructions and got it working in less than 3 minutes. Thanks!
