Is Wistia WordPress Plugin compatible with mysql 8.0 and php 8+
I’m scoping out Wistia as a DAM platform and this plugin sort of raises a red flag. What’s the story here? Is the plugin no longer needed? Is it so simple (just adding an oEmbed provider) that it doesn’t need maintaining?
Should I trust Wistia? Should I trust this plugin?
hi,
I just wanted to know if Wistia WordPress plugin is compatible with php 7.2?
Thanks!
Please update, we are your premium user, and we need this plugin.

Hi there, I’m currently using this plugin on a wordpress membership site.
I’m looking for the ability to pass the WordPress email address of each viewer to Wistia if the user is logged in to WordPress. Any chance of getting this functionality added to the plugin?
Wistia support suggested these methods:
“you could accomplish this with some custom programming – it’s not formally supported, but you could use our ‘tagging viewers by email’ feature (https://wistia.com/doc/identity-tagging#tagging_viewers_by_email) and insert WordPress usernames in-place of what would normally be an email. The WordPress usernames should then show up on your heatmaps. From a technical standpoint, you can do this either through passing a query parameter (https://wistia.com/doc/player-id-tag#url_query_string_approach) or setting the trackEmail variable (https://wistia.com/doc/player-id-tag#function_with_trackemail_embed_option) in the Wistia embed javascript code. “
I would like to do that so it’s easier to monitor for account access being shared to multiple people.
Any chance of getting this functionality added? Happy to pay for dev.
Thanks.

I have tested in all other browsers but for some reason when trying to resize the browser in Chrome, the video will reset and then get very small. I believe it is also rendering the video in an Iframe.
If you have any suggestions, any would be helpful at this point.
Thanks

Have been using this plugin on a couple of sites and find it useful. We took one site live last night that is running entirely under https, and found that the code in concat_script_tag at the end of wistia-anti-mangler.php that was determining whether to include the script using http or https was not working. The script was being included using http, and the page was showing as having mixed content.
I changed the script to hard code for https, and the mixed content is gone. Not sure if the issue is with the script, or the context on the server, or what, but I thought I would mention the issue here.

Video not found.

Has anyone come across this issue? Works perfectly fine locally.

Hello were using the Wistia plugin and everytime we enable it and visit a page on our server that has an embedded wistia video on it we notice the load on our server jumps to to 2.0 and the apache user has 100% cpu time (this info was gathered using top). We also start getting the folloing error in our apache log:
[Thu Nov 08 13:42:56 2012] [error] [client 66.161.134.34] PHP Fatal error: Allowed memory size of 268435456 bytes exhausted (tried to allocate 71 bytes) in /var/www/live/vhostnamehere/httpdocs/wp-content/plugins/wistia-wordpress-oembed-plugin/wistia-anti-mangler.php on line 83,
I’ve added the following to the wp-settings.php file:
if (!defined(‘WP_MEMORY_LIMIT’))
define(‘WP_MEMORY_LIMIT’, ’64M’);
This didn’t help with the issue were having.
Wanted to see if anyone ran into this issue?
Thanks
