Like so many plugins that used to be good, this one also seems to have been acquired just for profit and now it has become complete trash. Seriously, the free plugin is completely useless, and is nothing more than a step to force you and buy the pro plugin. I’m not giving plugins one star easily, but this free version really deserves it. I’m not talking about the pro version. That one might be amazing. But I’m not going to try it. The authors should consider pulling this plugin from wp.org and use their own channels to promote the plugin

I’m sorry to say this but after using Wedocs with the pro version, it is a terrible plugin, adding countless useless scripts to all pages (and if I disable it on the front page with Perfmatters it will not work anywhere else)

The support is also awful, answering in more than a month to anything (if it answers at all!)

Makes the pages very slow, like 8 seconds load on mobile, tho all my other websites not using this plugin are fast. If I disable this plugin on some pages (using Perfmatters plugin) those pages are fast.

There are also problems with the plugin itself as it has problems with displaying properly on all devices (the widget will not fit smaller laptops for example), and the AI chat, which is the reason why I bought the plugin, didn’t work at all for a month, and it’s not really working good now, it offers only one answer instead of searching through all the docs, showing all the relevant links (in the past it used to show 2 links, now just one).

Why do you make this plugin so terrible (when I enable it it doubles my source code lines, from 1600 lines to over 3300 lines!), loading so many scripts if it doesn’t even need them? even disabling the widget will not stop the scripts loading. Disabling the plugin will remove all these scripts. for example, look what it loads:

I have tried different Docs plugins for WordPress. This is simply the best.

Pros: 1. Easy to use

2. Light-weight. This is extremely important. Some search engines will put limit on the page size. I used other Docs plugins, which add heavy codes to each page. The result is a huge penalty on the website ranking.

3. Multiple docs support.

I would have left 4-5 after testing your plugin if you were more upfront on the repo. Please indicate wedocs is not compatible with any translation plugins such as Polylang.

Also please mention that your kb isn’t built-up/coded with SEO in mind.

This would be nice for other user on the look out so we can all save time ??

We are very happy with the plugin so far. Here, many corners and edges were thought of the extensibility. That is super.

What is not so great is the Appsero tracking, which you can not disable. For this there is a whole two stars deduction!

It is a very useful plugin, that does what it should do. But one big pitfall in this plugin is that, when you want to add a new page, it asks for the name, and then instantly publishes the page (!!!), which leads to have a public blank page on the site.

then you have to go to edit page, and make it draft again, until your content is final and, ready to be published.

1. The archive page structure is different from WordPress standard.
2. No Search result page feature.
3. Customized, but less functionality WordPress Admin module.

I am developer user, and I was able to customize these to work with WordPress Coding Standard.
However, most users are hard to use this, when taking care of seo and site design.

I want to thank Tareq for this great plugin. I compared multiple knowledge plugins with the following requirements:

– easy to use
– separate document type
– compatible with wordpress search
– compatible with wordpress language plugin weglot

In the end I decided to choose wedocs and I am super happy with it. I managed to create a beautiful looking knowledge base in multiple languages.

I don’t know where to start expressing my excitement about this plugin. I guess I should start thanking Tareq Hasan for providing it for free. I am a developer myself and I know how much work, blood and sweat goes into such thing. Kudos!

weDocs is intuitive to use. A few clicks and you have your first documentation online. Digging more into it reveals a lot of possibilites to adjust it to your needs. When I first started using it I made a little blog post about how it grew on me.

In that post I talked about CSS adjustments I did. Tareq’s recent release of version 1.6.0 now offers even more beauty for the front-end.

I just love this plugin and during my use of it I though about two improvements that would make this already great plugin even a tad better.

1. It would be great if the styles that come with wweDocs were editable on the settings page.
2. When adding a new section to a Doc, or a new page to a section, an order number is assigned to it. Via these order numbers you can influence the order of the pages in a section, or the order of sections in a Doc. The automatically created numbers start with 1 and each new object adds +1. In more than one case I ran into the need to reorder the sections or pages. I had to edit all pages to enter thew new order numbers. My suggestion: Start with 100 and for each new section or page, add +100. You then have an initial sequence of 100, 200,300 and so on. That makes it very easy to edit a section or page and change the order number to let’s say 250 to move it in between 200 and 300.

In any case, 5 stars are more than deserved for weDocs!

The plugin is very easy to use. It makes creating the documentation quite easy. It also displays them with a reasonable appearance. The documentation is also very straightforward.

It also does not bother you with “rate us” notifications.

I highly recommend it.

This documentation system is just perfect for my needs.
It can be understood fast (by developer), it is for multiple products, for each I can write articles and sub-articles. All is correctly placed into URL by Slugs.

I’d just desire a bit more configuration – some visual design. But I can do this with CSS, and out-of-box this plugins is doing its task perfectly.
I can even write articles using Elementor, and it displays fine.

Also search box would be nice to have.
