I installed this on a site with over 13,000 posts spanning 14 years with five paid amateur writers. I knew what I needed and that the free version of this plugin would not be enough (3 posts a day, 1,800-3,000 words a day), so I used the 14-day trial period to check out the paid version. Very impressed.
No spelling and grammar checker is perfect, especially not in the context of professional sports content, but this hit the mark. I did buy a premium license. The team dictionaries feature, after some time setting them up (I use one for names, one for sports, and one for general terms), have been fantastic. Each writer can whitelist their own rules, but being able to maintain whitelists for the whole site is above and beyond any other. Definitely worth the premium license fee.
On top of that, the support has been extremely responsive, both in replies and resolutions. One issue was that it wouldn’t let me add a few names to a team dictionary. They’d just poof again and again. And one of the names was very common. I reached out and several days later it was fixed. The other issue was one in which the first link added to a post after a save had to be done twice; it would just disappear when applied forcing us to redo it. It was fine for subsequent links until the next page load. I reached out and it was fixed two days later.
I normally hate plugins in the repo with such restrictive limits on the free version. I’d ding this review a couple of stars for that, too, if the paid version and support weren’t so good. Again, context is always an issue for grammar checkers, and the NFL certainly has a lot of diversity in the names of its players, but this works better than Grammarly (free and paid versions).
The only two additional things I could ask for are 1) to be able to add words to team dictionaries from the editor, and 2) to be able to whitelist grammar rules for the team, not just individually. And since I’m not getting rid of this plugin any time soon, I look forward to seeing if those features are added.

It’s hard to even figure out how to even run this pos. Doesn’t work or do anything. Free version is a 14 day trial that does nothing. I don’t get why plugins like this are allowed to continue on www.remarpro.com. They need to vette these apps. Half don’t work at all.

It says the free version only handles up to 6 lamguages, and I only wanted a simple basic spellchecker for and English blog. Installed yesterday and it just worked, pretty simply, a lot like Microsoft spellcheckers with the words underlined and click on them for suggested spelling. However that was yesterday – today it tells me I have reached the trial limits! So its not a free version, its a 1 day limited trial…

I tried a different plugin first and was shocked when it left highlighted text on my published page simply because it didn’t have British English!
This plugin does understand British English and highlights unknown and misspelt words simply with a red underline. I like it!

Installed the plugin, navigated to the settings page to make sure all relevant post types were checked, and… nothing.
I literally have NO idea what this plugin actually does, or how it is supposed to work.
Post and page edit screen show absolutely nothing.
Seems to me this is a bit of a half-baked and not very well coded plugin. No offense to the dev team, but really: if your basic version of the plugin doesn’t even work properly, it might be a good idea to leave the option of buying a premium version off the table – at least until such a time that you’ve fixed ALL relevant bugs. Not good for business selling something which is clearly broken – take some advice from a veteran plugin developer.
I’ll just code my own, but for what it’s worth:
WordPress 5.8.2, using Blogable theme, PHP v7.4 (ea-php74)
Thanks.

Unconscionable conduct creating false usage data to force user to upgrade.
I caught them red-handed when they sent me a screenshot of my alleged usage exceeding 10,000 words per day on the free version, on the very same day I reported the plugin was locked and I was unable to use it.
The usage data shows that I exceeded 10,000 words in just 25 minutes.
My whole website does not contain 10,000 words.
The developer insisted that the plugin is right and I am wrong.
I deleted the plugin. I have no tolerance for scams and unconscionable tactics to force the upgrades.

I love this kind of tool, the quality of the proofreading is good. I use it in French and English.

I was not impressed with this plugin at all. The documentation was difficult to understand. The UI was difficult to use and incorporates many non-standard and counterintuitive designs. The UI, documentation, and features are all lacking. It misses some spelling errors and falsely identifies correctly spelled words as misspelled.

I need it for my Blog in German, even if i have changed it to German in the Settings it swaps German Words with English Words. No sense in using it for my German Website then. If you cannot manage it to use it in German don’t offer it.

This is the third time I’ve edited this review. My first was negative, 2 stars. I wrote that it wasn’t working in Gutenberg at all and was useless if I had to click in each and every block to find error suggestions.
The developer responded right away and told me to give them a chance to work on that problem. They did! And now I can say with absolute surety that this is the first and only plugin at this time that grammar checks ALL Gutenberg blocks on your screen without having to click on each one.
I am a paid user of Grammarly Premium, and after two years, they have not been able to make this happen. I am impressed. So, kudos to the team and the fast response to the issue.
I’ve only used the basic, free plugin so far so don’t have access to all the features yet. But I can already tell it’s an excellent product and does what it does well.
I wish they would make a Chrome extension as the plugin works so well in WordPress so it would be nice to have it in the browser for all sites (other blogs, social media, etc), but that’s no fault of the plugin. It is a WordPress plugin, after all! But hopefully, they’ll consider it in the future.
Their pro version is very reasonably priced but I haven’t used it yet.
The free version however is excellent at checking spelling and suggesting some other minor grammar issues. It even allows you to add words to the dictionary easily. I was also impressed when I purposefully added letters to words and the plugin was able to figure out what the words were supposed to be.
The support team is responsive, the plugin rocks, and I highly recommend it.

Very comfortable, it does not require complicated settings!

This seems to be the only spell checker with more languages available. Why isn’t it updated for newer WP versions? I’d love to use and buy it, but not if it’s not compatible anymore.

Uninstalled since it puts a banner ad on your main website with no way to disable it.
Pick through the code on the Javascript they put on your site and you’ll see it: https://svc.webspellchecker.net/spellcheck31/lf/scayt3/scayt/scayt.js
Isn’t this against the terms on www.remarpro.com?
