自分で気軽にスライドショーを記事内に追加したい、というクライアント向けに重宝しています。
動作のおかしいところがちょこちょこあったりしますが、スライドショーの作成を記事編集画面内で完結させられる貴重なプラグインです。開発をずっと続けてほしいです。素晴らしいプラグインをありがとう！

I’ve never found a simpler and better working gallery plugin than WP Canvas Gallery. I dont understand the many bad reviews. The plugin works under WordPress 4.7.3 perfectly. It is wonderfully easy to use and very well integrated into the Gallery Editor. Manyt thanks for this useful work. Please continue with the maintenance of the plugin.

If you want a gallery plugin that misbehaves in Chrome, creates duplicate images and has a non-existent customer support then this is the plugin for you! But it updates regularly, so that’s nice -__-

This plugin results in the perfect galleries for my use – intuitive, clean and neat looking, excellent light box, galleries created on the page/post (not elsewhere, then have to add code), no extraneous novelty options, etc.
BUT
– absolutely no support (I’ve even emailed Chris directly from his website), the only “resolved” items in the Support Forum are those which the original poster figured out for themselves.
– creates 10 or 11 additional images for every image uploaded, most of which I will never use, but there’s no easy way to tell which ones are unused and delete them from the uploads directory on web host
– worst problem is making changes to Appearance > Gallery > Image Sizes causes havoc with my website. I was locked out from editing pages/posts, uploading images, viewing thumbnails in Media Library, logging on to wp-admin – all gave me a “404 Not Found” error page. I had to manually delete the plugin from my cPanel on my web host.

Update: it create a dozen images of different sizes for carousels and such. And for every new upload, even if image not in any gallery. As such – my 100 Kb image with all copies became a 1 Mb sum.

UPDATE:
I’ve been using this plugin for years since it’s the ONLY one that allows me add a link to an image in the gallery. I’m an artist & I want to create masonry style galleries that have the images directly linked to their own pages. I’ve spent a lot of time & money trying to find plugins that do that & this is the only one.
I love that it integrates directly into the WP image gallery system so there are no compatibility issues. I can also use the light box feature selectively, which I do on every individual page for my paintings.
It does NOT have pagination. Initially this wasn’t an issue but it has become one as my portfolio grows. I’ve contacted the original developer & the new developer about this but have never received a response. I’ve donated repeatedly to the developer(s) but haven’t gotten so much as a ‘thank you.’ I worry constantly that this plugin has been abandoned.
It’s not as responsive as I’d like either. When I view my large galleries on my iPhone 7+, I only get on image at a time rather than a 2 or 3 column layout like it looks on my desktop site. It makes the lack of pagination all the more painful since my gallery pages just scroll on forever on mobile devices.
I am using WP 4.9 and it still works thankfully. Between the lack of pagination & the complete non-responsiveness of the people behind the plugin, I reduced the rating from a 5-star to a 4-star.

I use WordPress 4.4 and after several weeks of searching, trying, & throwing money at other plugins (that didn’t do what I wanted them to), I found yours. While it isn’t listed as working with 4.4, I took a chance and am THRILLED that it does!! I did a test page using the Masonry Gallery on my laptop, my iPad mini & my iPhone each one of them worked great. I’m close to tears I’m so happy right now. I’ve been using WP for years and your plugin is the best way to display my art that I’ve EVER found….and it works inside the normal WP media gallery.
I’m an artist and my work varies greatly in size, everything from 2″ x 3″ to several feet long (or wide). Trying to find a gallery that properly displays all those sizes without oddly cropping the thumbnails or distorting the images seemed impossible. In the last 7 days I spent $65 on plugins that ended up not doing what I wanted (but I had to pay to properly see all the options to figure that out). Your “Masonry” gallery is exactly what I needed AND you had the good sense to allow the titles to be viewed underneath each image.
Please tell me that you are going to continue with updates for this?!?! As soon as my bank account replenishes in a week or so, you’re getting a nice donation for this. I will be plastering this plugin’s name & link all over my website & social media accounts. Thank you!!!

This is the best free gallery maker that you can add images to from the regular media library for my wordpress site, relatively easy to use compared to most gallery plugins. I use the slider style mostly and it turns out really nicely and blows up the image upon clicking.
It IS a bit slow to load on mobile, when connection speeds are slow, or when in a different country (I use high resolution images). So an improvement I’d suggest is getting it to load a low res version in the first place to not keep people waiting and then only loading the high res version once clicked/blown up.
The one thing that really is annoying is captions. If a caption is longer than the image width it will be cut off with no way to see the whole thing. very frustrating. Support for multiple caption lines is an essential piece to making this a great app.
Giving 3/5 stars until I see the mentioned improvements.

The Carousel option multiplies the pictures in the gallery, for example from 7 pictures 15 and from 2 – 6 images are shown (duplicated).

Changed it from 1 star to 2 stars because even if he ignores the support forum for the most part, at least he’s occasionally updating the plugin. Also, I’ve found that most gallery plugins make multiple copies, just in case.
Scratch that:Changing it back to 1 star and I’m going to go through the 2 days of work to install something else. Yes, 450 images spread out into several different albums, not to mention removing the extraneous images. Latest issue is the new lazy loading feature. It’s broken and now the images half load and overlap each other. It truly is a joke.
See the support forums. This thing will make up to 15-20 different size copies of every image even if you’re only using 1 or 2 sizes for your gallery. People are getting into trouble with their hosting over this. I have 7 wp sites and the one with this plugin is bigger than the rest combined. I’ve got 450 images and took a lot of extra time to optimize them to be an average of 150kb. This should total up to 70mb or so but my uploads folder is over 700mb.(I’m one of the lucky ones that only has 12 copies of every image) It’s like a sick joke.
It’s also very quirky and I have to add to the gallery with text view of the post editor which is pretty time consuming, looking up all the image IDs after uploading. If I don’t do text view, it will break things.
Find something better, even if you have to pay for it. It will be cheaper in the long run if your time is worth anything at all.

Easy to install, no annoying extra admin section for making a separate gallery, will take an existing gallery and make it look ace, you can customise the columns and size of thumbs.
I don’t really mind that it makes a multitude of different size copies of the image, WordPress makes enough junk this way as it is. Really handy.

This is a great plugin, but each image gets 19 thumbnails automatically created, which burdens the server in space and resources.
Posted on the forum – will change my rating once this is resolved!
Also, it’d be nice to be able to more easily over-ride the built in lightbox.
