Is there a possibility to use VLP in combination with WPML multilanguage plugin?

When using VLP in a WPML site, the strings in the preview block (heading, summary) appear already in the WPML advanced translation editor. There, they can be translated.

However, the translated strings are not outputted on the translated pages. I guess this has to do with the implementation of the VLP block, where no call is made to get translated string values.

Are there any developments in this direction? Tips & trics appreciated to make my own small test.

This is a nice plugin, I just used it to create full replacement for linktr.ee on my website.

But it could be much better integrated with WordPress. I don’t like the custom template builder, because it doesn’t get the default values from the rest of my theme.

Instead of the custom template builder each part of the preview (image, title, summary, url) should be it’s own custom block. (These blocks should only be available within the main Visual Preview block).

Then, instead of the custom template editor, you’d just use the same styling options as for all other blocks. This would allow for much more customisation, make the plugin responsive by default and make the plugin less complicated.

The current function of templates could be handled with block patterns and custom styles.

I want to remove the styling supplied by the plugin and add my own. I have found ‘wprm_custom_css’ here: https://help.bootstrapped.ventures/article/129-plugin-hooks-and-filters

Is it a filter or a hook? I’ve tried add_filter and add_action, but nothing seems to trigger it. Is there another way to remove the styling?

Hello, thank you for this great plugin!
I’ve a question / suggestion..
When you use the plugin in a post I use the featured image of the post from the link to display. Now when I change or fix (after being broken) this featured image in the original post the visual link won’t get updated automatically. Because you don’t know in which posts you used it, it shows no image anymore.
Could you modify the code so that changed featured images or fixed broken links of featured images are automatically scanned and displayed in those visual links that are on your site?
Now I have to do that manually and I don’t like that ??

I’m not sure whether this is something you can address in the plugin (a piece of data that is not being passed?), but I use Mailpoet to send out post notifications, and I notice, when I use a visual link, no link is being included in the email, only the image and other metadata.

One thing I’ve noticed, when I view my website on my iPhone in Portrait mode, there is no space between the image on the left and the text on the right. When I flip to Landscape mode, there is.

Not a big deal. Just doesn’t look as nice in Portrait mode.

Recently, I updated to WordPress 6.3.2, and it seems that Visual Link Preview is experiencing issues with this version. I can hardly add any links to my posts, be they internal or external links.

I’m receiving an “Invalid parameter (5): attributes (image)” error when adding the VLS block to the editor. Before, I was using this plugin without any issues.

Is anyone else experiencing this like I am? Any ideas on how to fix this issue?

A shot question, should this one show a little preview of the site the link is pointing, or what it’s purpose?

I’m not seeing any previews on my side..

I had to replace some preview/thumb images from some links with locally saved ones, but when updated, the linked site’s original thumbnail appears again, despite changing in the editor before saving.
Also: the general thumbnail settings does not affect SVG-images it seems. They will have the original size no matter what size you put in the settings.

Visual Link Preview seems to be intermittently disappearing and re-appearing in Frontend and Backend post/page edit content classic editor.

It happens on several posts/pages that have the VLP shortcode.

But when I do mysql search I can see the VLP shortcode and the encoded data value.

I have a couple of questions.

Is there a way to add custom settings using CSS to be able to use a different color for each post link text?

Also, on a mobile device, is there a way to add some padding between the post image and the post title? They are too close together.

There was an error in viewing the link and it does not add, could you help me with this error?

Generally web page links work well.

But social media links, like Facebook, Twitter and Youtube either bring up an error or have problems displaying the preview as expected.

Is this a bug, or a feature that can be added?

Block seems to not work its throwing “This block has encountered an error and cannot be previewed.”. I have installed health check and all are working fine its returning passed. first of all thank you for this free plugin. This is fyi, I’m not complaining! ??
So I use wp visual bakery editor and when I add a visual link, the block will be as long as the link is, making my page about 5 times the usual width. The only inconvenience is sometimes it hides the save button, but I have workarounds.

I really like the plugin, but there is no separate template editing for mobile view. I’d be happy to pay for a better version that lets me edit both the regular and the mobile view

Hi! I’m having trouble with image alignment. Either in a regular text box or in a call to action, it won’t align the image properly.

Even without the center align, VLP doesn’t seem to work in Posts. It works just fine in pages though (two examples here: https://paddleoutside.com/paddle-board-reviews/)

The image always seems to be shunted to the left, even if the rest of the content is not.

I am using Divi builder with gutenberg reusable blocks and visual link preview.
