Great plugin. Mike, could you update this plugin to accommodate IPV6 length?
Much appreciated!
]]>This plugin has disappeared but worked very well. I am hoping someone can provide a link to the plugin file which can be manually uploaded using WordPress. Thanks for your help. I have the Visitor Maps Add On Plugin and happy to share it with anyone who needs it.
]]>I am the original author of Visitor maps. This plugin had a new owner in June 2017 with a WP user profile name “fastsecure”. The new owner attempted to put code in several of his newly acquired WordPress plugins that would connect to a 3rd party server he also owned and place spam ads for payday loans and such in the WP posts.
The new owner did not release any new versions of this plugin. The new owner never added spam code to this plugin like he did to other plugins he acquired. The last version I released was 1.5.8.13 with safe code.
I am sorry for any inconvenience this has caused. I never expected that this would happen. The plugin was taken off the WordPress repository by WordPress staff until this can be sorted out. Perhaps a new version will soon be published. I might be able to restore my Contributor status. In the meantime it should be advised to deactivate or uninstall the plugin until it is sorted out who will maintain it.

]]>The plugin stopped working so I uninstalled it. Tried to then reinstall visitor maps and whos online but I cant find the plugin anymore. Is it still available?
I tried to find it under plugins, add new and then search for visitor maps and whos online but it no longer comes up in search results. I cant find it on wordpress plugins website either.
I have tried a different plugin for showing visitors but it is not as good.
]]>Hello,
I’m thinking of using Visitor’s map on my wordpress blog.
1. Does this plugin also work for South Korea as well?
Would this be able to tell me from which city in South Korea the visitors are from?
2. I wonder whether I can tell which post a specific visitor has viewed.
What I want to figure out is that whether people from a particular region are especially interested in certain topics from my blog.
Look forward to your answers.
Thank you very much.
Sincerely,
Jayhee

]]>Hi there,
I want use the map feature of this plugin, so I’ve downloaded and installed the “Visitor Maps Geolocation Addon”, now when I go the settings page of “Visitor Maps” I see an alert message: “The Maxmind GeoLiteCity database is not yet installed. Install Now”, when I click on “Install Now” I get this wordpress error: “You do not have permission to access this page.”.
I’ve the correct permission for folder and files on wordpress, I’m using as hosting “Altervista” and never got this problem until now.
I downloaded the database “GeoIP.dat” from this site: https://dev.maxmind.com/geoip/legacy/geolite/ I don’t know if is correct, I inserted this file in the folder of “visitor-maps” plugin and “visitor-maps-geoip” but in both case I’ve no luck, still same alert and error message.
I saw also that I’m not the only one that have this problem, and I need help to fix this.
Have a good day!
]]>Ok,
1) manually downloaded the zip
2) unzipped into folder
3) unzipped the .dat.gz (NO ONE mentioned this) into .dat
4) uploaded into the maps folder per directions
5) hacked the code per this forum
6) uploaded the hacked PHP code back to directory
7) clicked on all the boxes and…
… does not recognize the *.dat
I posted this on another thread but it disappeared and it said it looks like I had already posted (weird glitch).
I’ll try again:
Sorry, you are not allowed to access this page.
When I tried to uninstall/re-install it did throw a php err but don’t think that’s the permissions problem. The table is there. I would like to know in phpmyadmin possibly to check the perms. What I see is below the err msg here.

When I click Install now on the “The Maxmind GeoLiteCity database” I get an error “Sorry, you are not allowed to access this page.”
Seems others have had this problem with no solution.

]]>When I go to the Visitor Maps settings after installing the geolocation addon, I get the message “The Maxmind GeoLiteCity database is not yet installed. Install Now”. When I click on Install Now, it takes me to a new page that says “Sorry, you are not allowed to access this page.” This happens whether or not “Enable Geolocation” is checked.
Also, the “Enable Geolocation” checkbox resets to empty every time I try to install the Maxmind database, and even if I check “Enable Geolocation” and update the settings, when I click on the visitor map viewer link in the Settings page, a popup opens up that says Geolocation is not enabled. Any suggestions? Thanks.
]]>I’ve installed and activated the “Visitor Maps Geolocation Addon”. I go to “Visitor Maps Options menu”. It says “The Maxmind GeoLiteCity database is not yet installed. Install Now”. I click the “Install Now” button, it opens up a new page with the text “Sorry, you are not allowed to access this page.” on it.
What have I done wrong?
]]>When I click on Visitor Maps Settings I get a page saying that I dont have permission….
Tried to disable all plugins and themes – still no permission.
]]>Great plugin.
For some reason, in the ‘Who’s Online’ and ‘Who’s Been Online’ sections, under “Last URL:”, I can now only see the filenames of photos that visitors are looking at/have seen, and rarely see the the actual page they are on. It never used to be like this, but I can’t work out what’s changed?
Is there a way to get the page or post name back so I can see where a visitor has been in my site? I’m not really bothered to know exactly what image they’re browsing.
Thanks.
]]>This plugin isn’t showing up in multiple sidebars. Can it get a fix? The Japanese language doesn’t show up either for some reason.
]]>…there’s very little room for improvement in the messages to users.
For instance – I opened a ‘Visitor Maps’ page, and there are no viewings available for ‘Todays’ visitors – just a list of ‘most visitors online since…’.
The documentation is not that obvious either, but is there no a way to expand the listings in the ‘Visitor Page’ section to include todays visits?
]]>I installed the plugin and addon for the map. Plugin works fine, but visitor map doesn’t show the background map, just dots for visitors on white background.
How to fix that?
]]>I see the older versions of this plugin showed the visitros duration on a website.
Does the latest version still have this feature?
I want to know how long visitors are staying.
I have categories:
who
visits
last visit
ip adress
location
last url
referer
But i want to know duration of visit.
]]>I have installed the version 1.5.8.12 but strangely now in visitor map of users online the time is not correct, it is not syncronized to the time of wordpress and of my server. I tried to update but without solving the problem. For example wordpress time is 8.00 AM and visitor maps shows time 9.00 AM
Any suggestion for this problem?
Thanks

]]>I am unable to find where I can increase the display of entries in the table for a page.
I have pages ranging from 2-7, with no consistency.
For example, the first page shows 5 entries, the second page shows only 3, the third page shows 7, and the final page shows 2.
Where can I adjust the table to show 50 on the first page or all?
Thanks!

]]>When a visitor presses the View More Maps Link in the widget, a tiny little window pops up. How would I change the size of the window that pops up so they can see the whole map at once, even the largest? Thanks
]]>Hi there. Just a quick note, I would like to update to PHP 7.0, but I noted there is a Warning about your plugin.
It’s regarding this file /visitor-maps-geoip/class-wo-update.php
The warning said:INI directive ‘safe_mode’ is deprecated since PHP 5.3 and removed since PHP 5.4.
Thank you.
]]>To whom it may concern,
I moved my WordPress site from Media Temple to Amazon AWS on November 23, and I am puzzled by the WordPress Who’s Been Online plugin not logging visitors (I can send the screen capture if you provide me with a URL for sending it), but Wordfence Real Time Activity is working OK. Do you have any ideas for what may be causing this problem? The problem existed with WordPress 4.6, and has persisted after upgrading to WordPress 4.7 on December 6. It would be nice to regain fully functionality of the Who’s Been Online utility, or to determine if it will not work with Amazon AWS. Kindly let me know if you have any ideas for resolving this problem with Amazon AWS.
Respectfully,
]]>I have had a lot of visits in the past 12 hours on my website and suddenly, the visitor maps dashboard stopped showing new visitors. It remained stuck 4-5 hours back. The Live IP reporting of another plugin was showing more than 100 visitors since Visitor Maps stopped counting. I reinstalled the plugin and now it is showing new visitors, but the new visitors are showing towards the bottom rather than the top of the dashboard.
I did not make any changes to plugins or theme files. Can you kindly assist how to fix this. Here is a screnshot showing how the timing has got jumbled up and is all over the place. Earlier, I used to see the latest time on top. https://prnt.sc/diky6u
