I am using the latest theme twenty Eleven. php 7.2.

I’ve started getting php errors where old vipers video quicktag videos are on my site.

I would like to manually solve the migration in order to not have to keep a “migration plugin” in my wordpress install ?

Is there a tuto that describes what to do to “update” each posts imbedding videos manually, in order to make them compatible with the new wordpress core ?

I understand that the migrator does not actually migrate, but parses posts that have the old viper’s tags. I would like to actually substitute those tags in the database (and substitute for wordpress native functionality), but do not remember what they were. Is there a place where I could see which where the tags that viper used?

Followed instructions.
Leaves shortcodes in post, so the link appears on the page vs the actual video.
If I remove the shortcodes, the videos appear.

Checked davidklemke’s question … We are not using Jetpack.

Any ideas what might be making this not work?

Hey Alex,

After activating your migrator plugin and deactivating the old one, I set the WP Settings/Media so the largest size is 500 x 281 but it has no effect. The existing posts with videos and your old tags in place do not change in size. My content area is 520 px wide so the right side of the video gets cut off. Tested crazy sizes too, like 100 height. Created a new post with a youtube share url but that did not resize, either. Am I missing a step?

First, thanks for this plugin! Two questions:

1. On a WordPress Multisite setup I guess I have to network activate the plugin to make sure all blogs are updated? Is there anything else to do?
2. As I understand “migration” the former shortcodes are automatically removed and replaced by new syntax. Can I remove the plugin then after some time? Is there a log to see what posts have been changed?

I’ve installed the migrator plugin and deactivated/deleted the old plugin however it seems that my posts haven’t been migrated.

In addition, the Media Settings page does not offer a setting for video embed dimensions under the Thesis theme. Simply placing the YouTube URL into a blog post causes the video to embed larger than I want it to be, so that it extends into the next column.

The only way I can get video embedding to work is to insert code that uses an iframe. It would be an impossible amount of work to go back through all of my previous blog posts to insert that code.
