Wpbakery video background

Not working in firefox

Tried this plugin because it claimed that it was compatible with Site Origin.
It is in the sense it adds a settings panel where it should, good so far.

But – when I apply a background video to a row containing the SiteOrigin Builder widget, the video will repeat inside any rows placed inside the SO Builder as well – clearly not desirable in most cases. It is a nifty effect and may be worth preserving as an option, but it shouldnt happen by default, and in most situations wont be wanted.

So Video Background needs to be able to be used in a Row without reappearing in Rows contained in the outer Row.

The container option does not seem to work with Site Origin.

Shortcode does at least place the background in SiteOrigin, but so far will only display the backup image, videos will not play.

Ironically, when implemented via SiteOrigin Page Builder settings the video plays pretty reliably, and would be great except for the Row problem.

The documentation in regards to shortcode parameters does not mention whether you can state your URLs for the MP4 or WEBM parameters with a media fragment? Is the URL passed on as-is or would the media fragment be cut off?

If you want your video to start later and/or stop earlier you can do that with a so called media fragment, that is https://example.com/your-video.mp4#t=start,stop

t=10,20   # => results in the time interval [10,20)
t=,20     # => results in the time interval [0,20)
t=10      # => results in the time interval [10,end)

1. Can be handy in general, and in particular for a looped video.
2. Setting #t=0.001 is a common fix/hack for First frame not shown as the poster on iOS Safari (when one wants to refrain from a poster image on purpose).

Your documentation on the poster image says:

Accepts: Any URL to an image. .png and .jpg are recommended.

1. Does your plugin also support WEBP?
   The WordPress native Image block supports WEBP.
2. Does your plugin utilize WordPress Responsive Images (srcset)?
   If you provide a poster at 1920×1080, that this gets integrated into the Media Library and generates the sized versions of it and provides them in the markup as a srcset, and the web browser decides which one to download to satisfy its resolution and/or bandwidth (mobile!)

What the plugin description and screenshots do not answer:

1. Is this a global setting (you specify src MP4, src WEBM, src poster image, .container-class) for a single video, which you can then feature on any page/post which uses the specified .container-class ?
2. Or can you create various video instances centrally in preferences (with different classes like .bg-video-cats .bg-video-dogs .bg-video-fishes per the different video instances) for use anywhere?
3. Or can one inserting a shortcode per particular page/post whose scope is then that particular page/post?

so I just bought the pro version for more editing etc.

But the plugin with the video won’t show up in live on the website only in preview. Altough the background in the preview is over the whole site wich I don’t won’t. I would like to have this on the website start directly made 400 px height and width to the max. Hop some one could help me.

I have a Video Background Pro multiple licence (#licence sent via e-mail, account [email protected]) and trying to keep in touch with Blake Wilson since last March.
I wrote him several e-mails to solve an issue with VBP starting from 21 and 23 March, but I never received any sign or answer.
What’s going on? We were in strict contact since last 2019.

Anyhow: my issue is that the method to embed YoutTube movies (my public videos, not restricted) is not working.
I wish also to better understand the function “second”: from my understanding it should be the exact starting time of the movie,
in case I don’t want to start from its beginning: may I leave blank or in any case must write “0”?

Though I do have to request this feature if it can be added.
I post blogs on my websites, so there’s the thumbnails for each article posted (visible in the front page), and there’s the featured image when you go into the article.

With this plugin, I managed to select the featured image element part, and managed to add a background video to it, although, the thumbnail back at the home page part can’t be changed because all of the thumbnails of each article share the same class, so if I apply a video background to it, all of the elements will have the same background.

So, here’s my requests (if it’s possible to make):
1. When creating a new (or editing an existing) post, there’d be a field called something like “apply background video to post thumbnail”, where you’d add the element related to the post’s thumbnail.
2. In the post page (when editing or creating a new one), next to / below the “container” field, it would be great to have an option to save the element always (so you wouldn’t have to copy/paste it every time. (+ to be added to point one).

End goal as a user/writer? To just adda .webm or .mp4 link, and that would be it. It would appear in the featured image section, as well as its corresponding thumbnail in the home page.

I’m not sure if you desire to add something like this, or if it’s possible, but thought I’d give it a shot and ask.

We have therefore upgraded our licenses so that we can have the plugin that works on 3 domains but it does not work on 2 domains. Can you send us the solution to activate the plugin on the 3 domains and have the plugin working everywhere.

Viewing the site Log records I can see the mp4 video is called three times (Apache, 200 code), and is provided three times (nginx, 206 Partial Content success status response code), with the first of file downloaded size being 1.41 M, second 14.4 k, and third 2.16 M.
The original file size is 2.3 MB.
The file is placed in the WordPress home page code with the vidbg container (via WPBekaery).
On the client side I see the plugin uploads the second call for the file being in the script:

May I ask:

1) Is there a way to optimize the download calling of the *.mp4 file, so it won’t overlap in downloading data, as it currently seems it does?

2) What is the third call for the *.mp4 file, where I’m aware only of two: the first on WordPress home page and the second from the <script> the plugin generates?

Will there be a compatible update to WP 5.5+? Since my recent upgrade the plugin has stopped working. Thank you.

How do I activate the pro version? Every tutorial I see says the option is available on “plugin settings”, but I don’t see the option.

Only the .webm shows. I purchased the HD version but for some reason the mp4 upload isn’t displaying the HD version. Any ideas how to get the quality up…

The theme used on a site I built for a client comes with the WPBakery Page Builder plugin, and the rows in it have a tab in the row settings for ‘Responsive options’ that allow showing/hiding the row on different devices. But when the Video Background plugin is enabled, this tab disappears, and is replaced by the ‘Video Background’ tab.

I’ve checked the code for the admin editor page, and the ‘Responsive Options’ tab isn’t even in there.

Please help.

When I load a background video using the plugin (through the meta box or shortcode), the video is then added as a background video to every row on the page.

Hi there, I am trying to add an overlay to the video. I have checked the box and added the colour/opacity but nothing is working?

The site is currently in a stage environment so I cannot provide a link. I have added the following custom CSS and it worked a treat but it isn’t very efficient as I’d much rather make the changes through Site Origin.

First, This plugin is legit amazing! I love how easy it is and how it functions. I have a staging site so I don’t have a link to share. I was wondering if there was a addition to the short code to delay the start of the video for a predetermined amount of time. I am using infinity pro theme from studio press. I would like the front page 1 title to load fully then have the video start. So the video needs to be delay like 3 seconds.

This plugin is great, but when the browser window is maximized in Firefox, the unmute button shows for just a second and disappears. It goes away too fast for the user to have an option to unmute the video. I am told this also happens in Opera and Safari. It seems to work fine in Chrome. Any fix for this?

I’m trying to make the video at the top of my website smaller, but when I try to adjust the container size, the video totally disappears. Is there anyway to fix this? I don’t want the video to take up most of the top of the page
