I have a couple sites that have been a headache to keep current. This plugin is just what I needed to automate what is a pretty brainless chore. Lots of custom settings and easy to use. Just set it to “auto” and it’ll check for updates and install them at any frequency you set. With all the hacking going on these days, you can’t be too careful about outdated plugins, themes, and wordpress core files.

Apparently this doesn’t actually add any new features for updating. It is just a slightly different GUI to the same update functionality *unless* you pay for the pro version. What does that do? It claims to add backup capabilities, but it doesn’t back up enough data to actually restore a site.

I’m using the auto selection, but also getting emailed so I can take a quick look and make sure nothing broke. I’ve been lucky with WP that no updates ever broke anything.
