Hello Ryan
Have used this plugin several times on certain of my sites and these sites (created in 2019) have an Editor. I recently was asked by the Editor to create another unique header image for one of the sites which I did. I added the unique header via the Set Custom Header Image link. Works as it should.
However my Editor insists that when she added a new child page to a menu item, the unique header appeared automatically without her having to click on anything. As she has been doing this for years I suppose this is what used to happen. I can find no code anywhere that would allow this to happen. I only have the one plugin Unique Headers.
Could this function – if it ever existed – have been removed via a WordPress update?
Thank you.
]]>The admin sidebar in WordPress 6.5.3 remains permanently collapsed when using your plugin “Unique Headers” and being logged in. If I disable “Unique Headers” I can have the admin sidebar unfold and collapse again without any problem. I am using Twenty Seventeen as my theme.
Everything else seems to be okay – only switching between full mode and collapsed mode is not working for the admin sidebar. Any idea how to fix this? Thanks in advance!
]]>I am trying to put a different header on a few pages of my website. When I use the unique header plugin, it transposes the text title of the old header on top of the text of the new header. This is occurring on my blog page within my website. I am using the Ashe Pro theme if that matters. However, I was able to successfully change headers without using your plugin on the other pages. Please advise. Thank you.
]]>Hello!
I have just discovered this plugin and I was very excited using it !
My blog is divided in several categories (different subjects) so I was looking for a plugin that would change the header image for each category.
So, I have added an image to one of these category and it works.. but …
It would have been convenient if this image was applied to all articles in this category. I can of course add this same image to each article.
The problem is that if one day I want to modify the image of a category, I will have to modify all the articles independently and that could be very tedious. Would it be possible to add this functionality to the plugin?
Thanks in advance
]]>Hi,
I have been using this plugin for years to allow authors to set header images. In my functions.php, I used ? ? ? ?
$custom_header = get_custom_header();
which used to reliably return the attachment ID of the set header. However, this stopped working, and I couldn’t figure out why.
Is there a new function that I can use to fetch the header ID in functions.php? I am using the the_content hook.
Thank you,
Lorenz
In the past I was able to add a unique header to a custom post type taxonomy, now when I select the header and hit update it’s removed. I’m also unable to remove a header from one that was set before this problem started.
The problem persists with all other plugins disabled, except CPT UI, which is needed to show the custom post type taxonomies. I also switched to the Twenty Twenty-Three theme when testing.
]]>The plugin places a message box on the top of the Plugins-page asking for a review. No matter which of the buttons I try (“Leave a review”/”No thanks”), the message does not disappear. If I click on the buttons, I am redirected to the admin-startpage in my WordPress.
Why is there no chance to deactivate this message? It is okay to ask for a review, but it should not be so “sticky” (IMHO). Is it a “bug” or working as designed?
]]>Edit: I see others have also posted. I’ll try the new update and circle back if it doesn’t work.
Also, seems weird the plugin is showing up as Spam Destroyer.
Anyway, thanks again for a great plugin. I hope this resolves.

“Unique headers” became “Spam destroyer” with the latest update causing a “critical error” on my WordPress-Site. I had to delete the (wrong/not wanted) plugin manually to reactivate my site. – Even here on www.remarpro.com clicking on links to “unique headers” leads to “Spam destroyer” plugin. What happened?
Question to the developer: By deleting the plugin manually via FTP will there remain any database-entries of the deleted plugin?
Your latest release is causing a critical error with WP theme HoneyPress. Have also noticed your plugin name has changed to spam destroyer when it was originally header plugin. Has something got mixed up here?

]]>I am redoing my friends company website and added a plugin called unique headers to the theme. The theme we are using is Hestia. I added mainly just some photos from unsplash into the headers of each page. I also added some custom css to each page.
Now, when visited the site, sometimes the icons, background photos, and even the company logo in the footer page of the site will not show. And other times, when reloading the page or even the first time you visit, all the icons, images, and everything show up and load just fine. What could be the problem?
I have updated all the plugins and theme I am using. The only plugins I am using:
Akismet Anti-Spam
All in one SEO
Orbit Fox Companion
Otter
Really Simple SSL
Remove Footer Credit
Unique Headers
WP Forms Lite
WP Mail SMTP
I have deactivated all of them, and tested each one to see if the problem continues. I had to add the footer credit, unique, wp forms, orbit, and otter to start because that is how I get my images/icons and the stock footer out of the way. I still get the same issue.
My photos/images show up in the media library fine. The problem lies in the front-end of the live site where they show up sometimes and others don’t. How do I troubleshoot this? Thank you

3. Remove the Custom Header image. Add a Featured Image
4. The page puts the Featured Image in the banner.
5. Add a Custom Header image

I was not able to add an inner shadow to the actual image only the surrounding background of the header.
Am I doing something wrong?

Is class-custom-image-meta-box.php crucial?

Hello,
I’m using WordPress 5.8.3. Everytime I try to activate Unique Headers nothing happens and the button ‘Activate’ still remains. I tried several times. On occasion I got ‘error’ instead of the activate button. Did I do something wrong?
Greetings from Belgium,
An.
I was trying to find a plugin that would let me do this but would also let me add css to the header image as well. I had to move the header area down so it is just above my page or post area.
I want to add inner shadow to the image but when I try to add it to the header area in the css file I get this. Is this theme releated? do I need to go to them to fix this?
]]>Is there a (relatively simple) way to integrate the link or the functionality of the meta box into another which is created in my theme?
I have created one in which further settings regarding the header can be made, e.g. whether the H1 heading is displayed above the image or not, whether an overlay is to be placed over it, custom title & text content etc.. I followed this tutorial: https://www.taniarascia.com/wordpress-part-three-custom-fields-and-metaboxes/#create-a-meta-box
Actually, everything works as desired, but I now have problems with the naming, as I now have 2 boxes that are exclusively responsible for the header area (somewhat confusing for users). In addition, the amount of boxes on Gutenberg pages is already very high, I would like to reduce that a bit.

It doesn’t seem to break my website but maybe you can check if it can be fixed ?
]]>Thanks for reading this, this plug-in looks fantastic.
We’re looking to move away from a deprecated custom header plug-in but face 2 concerns I was searching for an answer on.
1. Will this plugin update the header of >1000 previous categorized posts?
2. We’re leaving the old one because it did not function with future scheduled posts. Will Unique Headers work for categorized posts with a future date?
