Hi there, is this plugin coming back? It’s a great plugin!
]]>There are folks who would gladly pay, if this worked with UM-2.
So, why not update it and consider making it a commercial plugin … from looking at the Tabs Pro on sale at your site, this CPT relational field idea is not mentioned … or does it have that feature?
Hi,
Usually a plugin or theme that isn’t properly updated within a 1yr period is to keep well enough away from: https://prntscr.com/pa4ksw
Any updates coming?
Am interested in using but if it’s not maintained, then i cannot use it!
]]>Hello,
Thank you for the plugin.
I would like to display names or slugs instead of IDs from my CPT or custom taxo.
Is it possible ?
regards,
]]>Hello!
I really like this plugin and I ‘ve been using it for about a year now.
Ultimate Member had a big update about two weeks ago which created many problems to the majority of its users. Since then I get this notification on my dashboard:
“The UM Relational Fields extension requires the Ultimate Member plugin to be activated to work properly. You can download it here”.
Eventually, about a week ago they released an update which fixed most of the problems as far as I know, but this problem remains.
I believe its a compatibility issue that this update created.
Can you please do something about it?
Thank you in advance!
]]>I am running a tutoring site and the users actually don’t get to edit their own profiles. I would like to display parents and student relationships, but need to be able to set these myself in the backend. Is this possible?
Thanks,

Hi,
when I add a new relationship meta_key|type|slug|link, the profile page where I defined the relational field goes completely blank.
Removing the relationship, the profile page works again.
I tried uninstalling and installing again the plugin, but it didn’t work.
Any suggestion?
Thanks
I have updated to UM 2.0. Will relational fields work with this new version? If not, when will relational fields be compatible?
]]>Hi,
I am using this plugin to make taxonomy fields to be shown relational, but everything I put in relational field it doesn’t work. Is there any problem with taxonomies?
This looks great, but for some reason this is not working for me. I’ve gone over the instructions and examples multiple times. I’ve triple checked the profile metakey value and custom post type slug. I even tried removing the post type slug and leaving it blank, which should make all posts selectable. However, when i go to edit profile, the profiel field drop down value just shows “relationship” the place holder text. It doesn’t seem to be working. Any ideas of what I could be missing beyond those obvious things which I have triple checked.
]]>With the UM 2.0 beta using native WP user roles will this affect the compatibility of this plugin?
]]>Hi,
Thanks for the plugin.
I have some fields in my user role profile that are based on taxonomies.
How do I display the name of the taxonomy in the members directory instead of the ID which is the value displayed if I call the um_user field?
Thanks,
Alan
plug-in caused White screen of Death on whole website when its parent Program (Ultimate Member plugin) was deactivated. Untill there is a fix for that this product remains removed.
]]>Hi,
First of all thanks for this nice plugin.
I have one question about the taxonomy relations. Is there a way that I can bring only the parent taxonomy for one field and then based on the selection of this files show the children in another?
For example I have a field named country which I use to show the taxonomy location. I would like this field to show only the parent parent terms in this taxonomy(united states, United Kingdom etc.., for example).
Then in another field which I will name state I would like to show the children of selection in the previous field country.
Can someone guide me or point me in the right direction here?
Thanks in advance!
Hope someone can help! ??
]]>Hello, I’m not very familiar with php and wondering if you can assist me with this error:
Fatal error: Using $this when not in object context in /wp-content/plugins/um-relational-fields/plugin.php on line 101
Unfortunately I don’t recall the exact steps that led to this, but I’m still piecing the site together on a WP Engine staging site, so there’s not much to it.
Here’s where the error shows:
https://paddleforkids.staging.wpengine.com/member/tonyissocial/
Oddly enough, I don’t get the error on an almost identical site:
https://paddle.possible.website/member/tonyissocial/
Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.
]]>We currently use Ultimate member as our User management. However there are a few short comings in that we like to build a fully relational database for our car club on a WordPress site. For example a member can have more than 1 car or more than 1 address etc. With the current flat structure we would need to limit the number of cars a member can record and also limit the number of fields per vehicle otherwise it will be to cumbersome to maintain.
Is your plugin capable of doing that and at the same time allow each member to maintain their own records or do you know of the existence of such plugin?
I am happy to share the database structure if needed.

John Viseur
Hi, it looks like the most recent version crashed my development site. Here is the message from our error log:
[07-Jul-2016 19:44:42 UTC] PHP Fatal error: Call to undefined function um_get_option() in ***/wp-content/plugins/um-relational-fields/plugin.php on line 83]
Removing the plugin fixed the issue. I reinstalled it and the site went back down instantly. Ultimate Members itself seems to still work fine. Please advise.
]]>Hi.
I am using the plugin and it is showing a list of items in a drop down on the edit profile form. However it is showing the post titles. Is it possible to display other values such as post ID or other custom fields?
Thanks
]]>Hi
Love this plugin, 5 stars. I’m using it to show the relationship between an employer and jobs they’ve posted to a job board. With a lot of jobs, I was wondering if there is any way to tie additional meta data to the field?
For example, we have many jobs with the same title, but each has a unique identifier created during the job posting (post type ID number). Would it be possible to tie it to that field?
Thanks
]]>Hi.
I’m testing the plugin to show family relationships within the members of the site and as such the dropdown menu for a field will have to be populated by the entire membership (around 1300). Not all the members can be seen nor searched in the dropdown menu on testing.
Can this be fixed or is there really a limit to the number of possible choices for the dropdown?
Thanks in advance.
]]>Hi, i have created a relationship between user and custom post type(services) in WordPress. I would like to display on the service page the list of users with a relationship to this service. Is that possible?
]]>Hi! I have both UM and WP Ultimate Recipe.
Can I associate recipe posts author with his UM user profile (recipes are a custom type of posts).
Thanks in advance!
]]>This is a MUST HAVE plugin, thanks guys!
When a relationship links to a User is it possible to add their um-avatar with it? Appreciated!

]]>I’m using a custom profile template in order to control design and content structure. In my template, various fields like this work fine:
<?php echo um_user('nickname'); ?>
However, when I tried using this with the metakey I created, the output is “Array”. So…
<?php echo um_user('mybands'); ?>
Just outputs “Array”.
Possible you could provide the code for displaying the content so I can use it in a custom template?
Thanks in advance!
]]>This plugin could save my life, but there’s one big problem… the link to the user profile uses the username, while we have to use profile ID for some complicated reasons.
So the relational link from your plugin generates:
https://resonate.is/profile/moaninsons
But the actual link format we’re using is:
https://resonate.is/profile/69/
So your plugin doesn’t know we’re using User ID in:
Users > Profile Permalink Base
Any idea how soon you might have a fix? This could be a real life saver for us!
]]>Hello!
I was exactly looking an option like this for my website’s profile! I wanted to add a field for “favorite genres” and link to post’s tag.
I made the same thing in the tutorial, but when I add a relationship in the settings ( fav_genres|tax|tag|true ) click on save and go to check the profile, all becomes blank… If I remove the relationship it returns to normal.
Here is an screenshot of how it looks like. Not even the header or the menus showing…
Am I making something wrong?
Thank you in advance
