How to get increased length to work?

Hi there!

I’m trying to get longer (and eventually nicer) excerpts to work – so I downloaded your plugin. but increasing the length doesn’t do anything on my end.

I didn’t do anything here, except increasing limit to 500 words.

To test, I have two query loop blocks on my front page. Here’s one of them, showind that the excerpts is way under 500 words.

And here’s the other one.

Do I have to do anything in particular to get it to work?

My theme is a child theme of TT3 – but it doesn’t work with stock TT3 either.
