This plugin recently became a spam address harvester, sending automated emails to registered users asking them to ‘confirm their address’. Don’t install.

Really love this widget, looks great on my sidebar, once it’s configured.
However, that configuration is a bit of a gotcha, as the visibility settings keep reverting to defaults with everything enabled (I only need the titles visible), so any time I change another tab’s settings, I also have to go to the Visibility tab and turn the default stuff back off again as well. It’s like the plugin isn’t reading the current visibility settings, and simply shows its own default selections whenever it loads its view, so that’s what gets submitted on save if you don’t go back in and set them right again.

This didn’t work at all for me. The Display, Filter, and Order tabs were not clickable, leaving no way to tell it which post(s) to use.

This is an awesome plugin. It causes issues if you are using the widget on a Divi Sidebar module, it puts part of the sidebar code into the wp-admin dashboard on any pages with that module and widget on it. Unfortunately, I can’t change themes, so I couldn’t use, but overall this is a great plugin with lots of options.

As other reviewers have said, the feature set in this plugin is unrivalled.

I’ve built hundreds of WP sites in the last 8 years and UP is the only software I’ve found that can actually give me total flexibility for my sidebars without having to dig into code or scripting.

I’m currently using it on a magazine site that display filtered, contextual sidebar content, depending on where the user lands ie categories, tags, individual posts – the options are endless.

On top of this, my designer has coded a custom template that matched the look and feel of my theme, with the extensive functionality of UP.

I’m a massive fan of this plugin. Don’t know why more people haven’t discovered it…..

I’m building a magazine typed website and really needs a fully customized sidebar. This plugin helped me to do that.

If possible I’d love to have one more option to set column for widget such as 1 column, 2 columns.

I can’t speak highly enough of this plugin. It’s the only one I could find that will look at the category or tag on a page and only show posts from the same categories/tags as the page. This is a great feature for larger sites when you don’t want to show irrelevant content in a sidebar.

Well done, great! Just two options away from perfect:
(i) an order option á la ‘keep sticky on top’ would be great,
(ii) a filter option beside from category/tags that would allow to select particular post/page-IDs could be useful for some occasions as well.

This plugin is great, except for one thing. It has lots of options, lots of flexibility, the filters are brilliant … but … frustratingly, it doesn’t have the option to exclude the current post from the widget. So when I choose to show posts from the same category as the current post, one of the recommended posts listed is always the current post they’re reading.

So if I’m reading an article titled “ABC”. The widget says, “You might also like to read ABC”. Which looks really silly.

I’ve been working on a redesign of my own site and decided early on to spin up my own testimonials functionality using a CPT and ACF.

I’m nearing completion of the project (yay!) and, this morning, remembered that I wanted to display random testimonials in the sidebar. So, I ask myself, how to go about displaying a couple of random custom post type with it’s associated fields, in my sidebar, using a widget.

I assumed I was going to be spending this afternoon learning how to make this happen – and while I certainly don’t have anything against learning, right now I just needed to get this done quickly.

Using this plugin and a custom template I was able to complete this task in under 30 minutes, which included making a custom template and styling the output.

The custom templates are super handy as well, as I was able to make my own template, grab the bits that I needed, and wrap them in block quote structure with hooks for my own CSS.

This plugin saved me a lot of time today, which I can now use to get other things done – and now I have the plugins codebase to reference when I’m ready to go back and see how this is done.

This is great. Plenty of options but still super-easy to use.
And it had a few more obvious options than some other similar plugins. The one I needed specifically – showing the full content of a post instead of an excerpt or stripping out HTML & embeds.

We’ve renamed some of the pages that we categorized into the widget and now they are showing up as links with a line crossed through them. Is there an easy way to reset this plugin to detect the revised links?
