Hi, Can you please add support for woocommerce also to hide product category link display on single product page?

]]>We set up a “Just For Fun” category – where we block the category from showing up on the Home Page, in search and on the archive pages. We have the option to also exclude the category from Feeds – which we have NOT checked. The content IS going out on the RSS properly, and is getting indexed, but it is NOT getting picked up by the SimpleFeed API plug-in to be served to MSN. And we cannot figure out what is blocking that from happening. We’ve tested with both the API option enabled and disabled and nothing changes.
Hello,
does “Category Excluder” supports also
custom-post-type-(CPT)-taxonomies?
Best greetings!
Hi!
thank you for making Ultimate Category Excluder. The plugin works great excluding all the post in the category “DDB” from the homepage, displaying these posts on the archive of the category, if users know the url. I am keeping these posts in a separate category for a project of my PhD, they are only useful for that project I don’t want them to be displayed in my main website.
Since I upgraded WordPress to version 6.4.3, if I am trying to reach the page, I am getting this message: There has been a critical error on this website.
I tried to deactivate the plugin, but it went even worse: the same critical error appears in homepage. I tried to uncheck/check again the categories in the plugin option page, and I also tried with other categories the plugin seems to work well.
Keep trying, I started getting error 429 – TOO MANY REQUESTS from my server. I put all posts of DDB category in draft mode and started to publish one by one to see which post was causing the problem.
I noticed that he feature image on my latest post was breaking everything: by accident I didn’t save the pic in .heic format taken with my phone in jpg. I hope my experience will help other users.
Best,
Chiara
I’m using a sitemap plugin and the posts are being excluded from the sitemap page too, is there a way to only exclude only the homepage?

We had an idea to use this, so we could show certain articles in certain places, but hide from the main Blog page.
Doesn’t work tho. Shows on the /blog/ type URL. Is this meant to happen?
]]>Hi, a few days ago Revolution Slider installed on our site has started to present post display problems (filtered and shown according to a specific category). We contacted the developer of the slider, who however verified an incompatibility with Ultimate Category Excluder: as soon as it was disabled, the slider started working properly again. Were you aware of it?
]]>This has been working for years to block our ‘Photography’ category, but suddenly it is no longer working and it is showing in the feed on homepage. I’ve checked settings and all are ok.
At the bottom of each post, there is an arrow with a link back to the previous post and forward to the next post. The excluded categories are still showing there. Is there a way to remove categories from that spot?
Thanks.
Godday Mario!
The plugin works excellent for my needs!
Until I wanted to list all posts where the current user ID is the value of a specific custom field (fetcher) for posts and found that the posts with a category marked with “Exclude from Front Page?” in your plugin settings are excluded in the resulting list (on the users profile page).
Does that make sense to you when looking at my query below?
Can you maybe tell me if the query has to be adjusted..? ??
<?php
$current_user = wp_get_current_user();
$user_ID = $current_user->ID;
// The Query to show a specific Custom Field
$the_query = new WP_Query( array( 'meta_key' => 'fetcher', 'meta_value' => $user_ID ) );
?>
<?php

Google Search console is reporting that I have 2.8k page redirects. My hosting company is saying it might be this plugin. Never had this report from Google Search console over the past several years I have used this plugin. But I wanted to check if others had this issue. It is not malware.
]]>Thank you for your long-time maintenance of this plug-in. As discussed in the comments on your site, I would like to propose a patch that would allow users to disable category exclusion when an authenticated API request (XMLRPC or REST) is being made. This will improve the plugin behavior for any users who have, over the years, noticed that the plugin prevents external editing tools like MarsEdit, the iOS WordPress app, etc., from accessing posts that are excluded “from the main page”.
I propose that in the interest of making the plugin behave more predictably for new users going forward, the new option should be enabled by default, but that for existing users the new option should be disabled. This will hopefully satisfy most users by making the most obvious (IMO) behavior default going forward, but not changing anything for existing users until and unless they opt in with the check box.
Please see the linked changes which provides the changes proposed:

Let me know if you have any questions or concerns.

Is there a way to apply the exclusion of categories in all the languages of the web and not only in the main one? Thank you.
]]>Hi, unfortunately I recently renamed my WP front page to “news”. To be more precise, the top menu entry for the front page.
It was no problem at all, but since then, the UCE stopped working. I renamed it back, but it still does not work. Deleting the plug-in, changing the theme, reinstalling the plugin, changing all of the plug-in options – nothing brings back the functionality.
Any idea, what I can do?
Thank you!
]]>How to use your plugin with pages (not posts)? Pages do not have category property.
]]>Hi,
I’d like to come back to the closed topic “handling of posts with 2 or more categories” because I have the very same problem. I would like to give one of my posts two categories to make it show up on the start page even though its “main” category is excluded. (I don’t know if there there is such a concept as a main category in WordPress, but I use %category% in my permalink structure and obviously only one of this post’s categories shows up in its link. Anyway, I don’t think this is actually relevant here.)
So my hope is that I can make this plugin change its logic and only exclude a post if all of its categories are excluded. You mused about making this an option. How do you feel about actually implementing it? Otherwise my life would probably be easier if I too migrate to another plugin, but of course @yurigoul did not specify the solution they found. Also, this plugin has served me well so far so I’d be happy to keep it.
Thanks for your consideration and work ??

]]>Hi team!
I love the plugin Ultimate Category Excluder… and it did what I wanted, hide the Partner category from the frontpage.
But now it suddenly doesn′t anymore. I uninstalled the plugin. Reinstalled it. And tried it with different categories, they DO exclude the posts from that category then. But not that silly Partner page…
What gives?!

Hello,
I am not listing categories on https://www.fvdublin.org/ but instead on https://www.fvdublin.org/whats-new/.
when I use your plugin, it says that it’s for the home page. Is there a way to use it on https://www.fvdublin.org/whats-new/ instead?
]]>I see it only excludes wordpress native categories.
I am looking for a solution to do exactly this but for pods custom taxonomies. I want the posts in these subcategories to not show up on the blog feed. It’s okay if they show up in the archive and search pages, but they need to be excluded from the main front page where all new posts show up.
My work around so far is to create a native wordpress category and exclude that, then make sure that is selected for all the posts using the pods taxonomies. It’s not ideal.
Is there going to be an option to add custom taxonomies to the list since custom taxonomies are pretty much used by everyone these days. The option to exclude posts associated with those would be super helpful.

hi,
is there any way to create an exception for certain categories on certain posts?
i’m using the plugin to run my “site news” posts. most of those will only appear on the “site news” tab listed at the top. therefore i do not wish those posts to be double, so the plugin is great for that.
the problem is, that’s not always the case. for example, my most recent post, goes under the category “site news” and “snails”. this time i do wish it to appear in both places, on the site news AND on the posts on the site. https://snailhunters.com/snail-hunting-season-2022-has-started-news/
the only workaround i could find was creating a separate post for the “snails” category. but then i end up with two posts which isn’t the most desirable either.
]]>Hello,
thanks for your plugin.
I am writing to you because I would like to use your plugin to exclude some categories from the general flow of the site, but they will still be shown in some areas.
For example: drawings and horoscope
I don’t want these two categories to appear in recommended articles, in the next article, in widgets etc.
However, they will be reachable from the home in a specific block or from the menu.
I ask you can I do this with your plugin, is it suitable for doing this?
Thank you
