As of today, I have closed this plugin.
It still works fine, and if you’re interested it adopting it, please throw a PR over on Github and I’ll happily hand it over – https://github.com/Ipstenu/ui-labs
The code works, it’s fine, but with only about 20 users, it’s not worth my time to manage anymore.
I like this plugin. Heck, I still use it! But it’s a matter of free time.
]]>Hi Mika,
Not an issue but a question. What does the “old plugins” feature cope with removed plugins? If it doesn’t already, could there be a specific warning if any of the installed plugins aren’t in the repository? I’m guessing this may be an issue for manually uploaded plugins, for example from third party sources). Is there therefore a way to highlight is it was in the repository and then goes?
]]>Hi Mika,
Noticed this today and thought I’d report it… https://i.imgur.com/wRUB3tX.png
As you can see, because of the long title, the “Scheduled” tag has wrapped to the 2nd line and is, well, a bit close to the line above. This was on Chrome in Windows. I’ve not a chance to test it on any other setup but can do if you’d like.
I resized my browser window to force the same to occur with draft labels and that didn’t appear to do it (not sure why).
]]>Hi,
I just updated from 2.2.4 to 3.0.1, and I get this error message only on the Plugins page, below the “Bulk Actions” menu and above the list of plugins:
Warning: Missing argument 2 for UI_Labs::add_settings_link() in [myinstallpath]/w/wp-content/plugins/ui-labs/ui-labs.php on line 542
I also noticed that “Colour-Coded Post Statuses” and “Identify This Server” colour coding broke. Nothing is coloured now. I didn’t test other options.
I deactivated and deleted the plugin, then reinstalled and reactivated it, but nothing changed.
Cheers,
-Brett
When I install version 3 it’s breaking my site and I’m getting the following error…
Fatal error: Uncaught Error: Call to undefined function get_blog_option() in /var/sites/a/artiss.co.uk/public_html/wp-content/plugins/ui-labs/ui-labs.php:77 Stack trace: #0 /var/sites/a/artiss.co.uk/public_html/wp-content/plugins/ui-labs/ui-labs.php(547): UI_Labs->__construct() #1 /var/sites/a/artiss.co.uk/public_html/wp-settings.php(255): include_once(‘/var/sites/a/ar…’) #2 /var/sites/a/artiss.co.uk/wp-config.php(95): require_once(‘/var/sites/a/ar…’) #3 /var/sites/a/artiss.co.uk/public_html/wp-load.php(42): require_once(‘/var/sites/a/ar…’) #4 /var/sites/a/artiss.co.uk/public_html/wp-admin/admin.php(31): require_once(‘/var/sites/a/ar…’) #5 /var/sites/a/artiss.co.uk/public_html/wp-admin/index.php(10): require_once(‘/var/sites/a/ar…’) #6 {main} thrown in /var/sites/a/artiss.co.uk/public_html/wp-content/plugins/ui-labs/ui-labs.php on line 77
At the moment I’m deleting the plugin via FTP to get my site working again but this happened both via the auto update and when I did it again manually.
I’m running it on a non-network installation running 4.5.3.
]]>Hi Mika,
Just started using this again after discovering you’d picked it up from John. Love the new features and I do wonder why they’re no baked into Core!
Anyway, I’ve had to disable the “Warn if Plugins Are Old” option as it was having a terrible impact on performance – loading my plugin page was taking 20+ seconds a time. Switched this option off and it went back to 1-2 seconds.

]]>This line should have a leading/trailing spaces (i.e. $classes .= ' ' . $this->options['servertype'] . ' ';
) or it can get “attached” to the previous/next class.

]]>Using this on a multisite, on the network plugin page I see about 20 or so plugins with the following message
~ plugin-name ~ was last updated 46 years ago and may no longer be supported.
Now I know WordPress has been around for a while, but were they really writing plugins for it in 1969?
]]>Great plugin, especially for the post indicator function.
I have been trying to understand the css and add an indicator for scheduled (future) post.
However my editing it in the CSS does not seem to work. Can you offer any suggestions?
Can i make this a feature request please ?
thanks!
]]>Hi John,
I’ve noticed a problem that’s occuring with UI Labs installed with 3.3.2 of WordPress.
The icon and the titles in Administration screens appear on separate lines rather than next to each other. Disabling the plugin restores them back to how they should be.

]]>Hello there i have just installed the plugin UI Labs and used it for just 10 minutes and now i wanted to disable it so when i click on the deactivate plugin it was deactivated but the user interface is still the same nothing changed the plugin is still active but i cant see its settings page (as i deactivated it) but its effect has not gone . also it made my site empty (i.e when i open my site its nothing just s blank page)
please help.
Well, your plugin seems prety cool. I personally am intressted in such admin features that makes it easier to manages things whiout getting into each post/page or so.
However, I blieve it could be more practical if you could place the post status in its own column. Best placed before the titles in its own column to be sortable!
You may also considering doing the same with thumbs. Forinstance if a post or page includes any images or featured image, so it could be displayed as thumbs in post/page lists.
What do you think about my feedback ;)?
]]>I’ve noticed that with UI Labs enabled, the “Header Image” notices behind images in the media library don’t appear.
Disabling the plugin lets the notices reappear.
This is, as far as I know, an option which only the Twenty Eleven theme has, but as this is the new default theme, it might need some looking into why it happens.
]]>Hi,
Your plugin is quite usefull for me, but i use WordPress in French and the class draft applied on the status himself is translated from “draft” to “brouillon”. So your css rules don’t work anymore, but before you where using the class of the tr ( not translated ).

Rahe
