Hi,
I bought Summary Card with Large Image [Addon] for my site Another Gaze. Usually I add in the long code from here: https://developer.twitter.com/en/docs/tweets/optimize-with-cards/overview/summary-card-with-large-image but I got bored of doing that so I bought this. I’ve set it up fine I think but when I stick it through here: https://cards-dev.twitter.com/validator it still comes up as a small card. I think it might be that my site needs to be whitelisted via twitter but i don’t know how to do this either!
The site i want help with is anothergaze.com
Many thanks,
Daniella
You can see a tweet with the matching card here: https://twitter.com/hexcrawl/status/1024024892159787009
You can see that instead of pulling a snippet of text from the top of the article, it’s pulling the links from the bottom of the post (which mostly just looks like random word gibberish when it gets to the card).
Any way to fix this behavior?
Hello,
Is Twitter Cards Meta GDPR compatible?
Please let us know! Thank you!
We had to manually deactivate the plugin after updating because of a syntax error on line 27 which locked us out of wp-admin and broke the entire site.
I see others have been having this problem for over a month now. Please push an update to fix this and in the future, remember to test your plugins with older PHP versions.
The most recent update of Twitter Cards Meta totally broke my photography site. Even the administrative login page would not load. I got the site back up by deleting Twitter Cards Meta plugin. When I try to reinstall and reactivate the plugin I get a fatal error which ends in twcm-class-twitter-cards-preview.php on line 27. While I am not a coder, I checked the code and could not see any obvious problems or corruption with that particular file at line 27. Accordingly, I am clueless on how to get Twitter Cards Meta reactivated and working again. Googling the error produced a number of other WordPress websites apparently similarly taken down completely down by this error after an automatic plugin update. Thus, I think the problem relates to the new preview functionality in the most recent update and not some misconfiguration on my site. Anyone have any ideas how to fix it so I can get Twitter Cards Meta working again on my site? Thanks in advance.
I had to disable the plugin, it was causing a syntax error on a misplaced bracket. That was keeping my site from loading.
Twitter shows only the link in text and not the twitter card. Test page worked right.
The plugin works fine but when I share a post to Twitter it shows only the title of the post ,image and my sites url..my website is a buddy press website which has people signing up and posting music but when they do share on Twitter the artist name doesn’t appear or isn’t attached to the post…how do I get the artist name on the list like that of soundcloud when shared on twitter?thanks….you can provide me with your mail so that I can vividly show you what I mean, once again thanks

My site used to pull the image no problem. Now it’s not and when I check the card validator, I get the message: ERROR: Required meta tag missing (twitter:text:description)
Now, there is no image pulling.
Hi there,
In version 2.5.1 it seems that posts are being published without the Twitter description. The error from the validator is:
ERROR: Required meta tag missing (twitter:text:description)
The default description is being picked up but not the descriptions in the individual posts.
Your site has a database error on almost every page.. I was going to upgrade to premium but that doesnt give me a lot of confidence..
Hi, I’m having prblems with some post… the plugin with the large image doesn’t work on twitter, because it’s missing the Description. For it to work (checking on the twiiter card validator) I have to manually include an excerpt, and the it works as usual… but that wasn’t necessary before.
has it been some modifications on how twitter handles its cards? Any suggestion?
Thanks in advance!
Where a generic default image is used Twitter will no longer display it. See Twitter documentation. I have seen this happen: when we specify a default image (a copy of our logo which complies with the official Twitter image size) instead of a post-specific image, Twitter do not display it: they display a grey pattern instead.
Therefore this plugin should probably drop the default image.
More important, where no default image is specified, currently the plugin adds
to the header. Instead, the twitter:image tag should simply be removed where no image is specified. This will avoid the bad situation that Twitter adds its own grey default pattern where the site does not provide a post-specific image.
The posts check out great in the twitter developer card validator, but pages don’t. Is there a fix for that?
I’m having a hard time getting the large image to show in the Summary Card with Large Image. I’ve tried multiple different solutions and I’m hoping your premium version will work.
Every solution we have tried (including your free version) load the twitter:image with a relative URL
(example: //www.domain.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/10/rebuynormal.jpg )
Apparently this is a known bug:
We would like for the full URL to be shown.
I test card validator with a single post page URL but got this error message:
ERROR: Fetching the page failed because it’s denied by robots.txt.
What do I do? Thanks!
I enabled the large image in the plugin but the validator still show the basic summary card, what am i doing wrong? this is a sample post im using https://www.tradoto.com/results/2016/07/18/270-2/
thanks !
It would be very nice if the “release notes” really described what changes in each new version, rather than simply saying “minor”. And this does not mean simply providing a link to a bug/enhancement database.
It was my impression from the instructions that the summary with large image would be best used with a square image, so I set the plugin to use my featured image. However, if you try this link in the validator you can see that it’s being cropped severely. What size image should I be using, and if I upload that image to the post specifically to be used for my twitter card, how do I add the custom field name to that image?
I’m using the WP Testimonials Pro plugin to display quotes from customers… they are separate posts and I would like to use the Twitter Card meta plugin to share them… but I want to link back to the site homepage and not each individual post. Can I set the plugin to always link back to the homepage URL?
I installed the plugin and it validates using twitters card validator. However when I make a new post to the blog and using JetPacks Publicize it posts that to Facebook and Twitter the image does not show up in the twitter feed. It only is visible if you click the View Summary link on the twitter feed wall. How can I get the image to show up in the twitter feed on the wall without the user having to click the View Summary link? Example.

I’m looking forward to your app card feature. Will it be compatible with multi site installations?
It works fine, so I controlled the output not every time. But now I recognized it delivered wrong content in the “description” meta-tag.
In one blog it takes the content of another plugin (Contextual Related Post). In the other blog it shows only “more…”.
When I look on the provided HTML source code I see, that the plugin “2-Click Social Media Buttons” added OpenGraph Tags and put the right content in the description tag. So it’s probable possible to find the right content.
Someone else with this behavior or knows a solution?
Thanks
Hello,
We have a theme that places our featured image into a banner at the top of our posts. When using twitter cards meta, we also need to make that featured image part of the body of the post in order for it to show in twitter. Would it be possible to update to use the featured image regardless of whether it’s in the post body?
Thanks,

Hi i am using this plugin version 2.3. Into my site the posts containing the twitter card code but its not showing the profile pictures and the other images in to the twitter card area. For profile pictures i am getting the blank tags.
here is url https://staging.collegespun.com/espns-kirk-herbstreit-reveals-his-college-football-playoff-foursome-after-week-8/
kindly let me know how to fix this. thanks
Photo cards not displaying in validator or on Twitter feed after posting. All settings are correct and we are whitelisted. Content shows up, but image does not. Any hints?
I have some invalid meta markup showing up on my pages where customers download my products. It seems to be a issue inside the .
You can see the example here: https://debistangeland.com/downloads/31-days-prep-course-workbook/
There is a white box at the top of the page with the title.
The code looks like this:
<meta name=”twitter:title” content=”31-Days Prep Course Workbook” />
See that property? How do I get rid of that?
Thanks!!
Hello there!
We’ve just implemented your guy’s plugin and it seems to work great for the homepage! Got whitelisted and the whole bit. However using the validator on posts returns the following results:
INFO: Page fetched successfully
INFO: 30 metatags were found
INFO: twitter:card = summary_large_image tag found
ERROR: Required meta tag missing (twitter:description)
WARN: Not whitelisted
We can’t seem to figure out why, the options we’re using are all defaults, and the homepage seems to work perfectly with it.
The site is gamelatable.com and a test post would be https://gamelatable.com/the-5-stages-of-getting-a-new-game/. Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thank You!
Although I have images in my twitter card in the twitter feed, the images do not auto-expand. Unless someone decides to expand the tweet, the twitter card will not be seen. Most people I know don’t spend the time to expand their tweets, which pretty much makes twitter cards and/or your plugin useless. Or is there something I’m missing about how to set up your plugin and/or twitter cards.
