I used to use this plugin on a few sites but no longer use it but when I updated my sites from PHP 5.6 to 7.2 it caused the site to return with Error 500 messages.
Error log spit out: [21-Jun-2018 18:13:35 UTC] PHP Fatal error: Redefinition of parameter $path in /home/…/public_html/wp-content/plugins/tubepress/src/main/php/add-ons/wordpress/classes/tubepress/addons/wordpress/spi/WordPressFunctionWrapper.php on line 213

This used to be good, however the plugin is no longer supported and potentially dangerous.

Used to be helpful but has moved to premium-only model and this version is no longer supported, doesn’t work. Look elsewhere for a free youtube/vimeo plugin.

there is no option to run the plugin, worthless

POS does absolutely nothing lots of options but no gallery is created.

Free plugin is worthless
Pro is too costly for use on more than one site.

Hello,
The free version of Tubepress is completely unusable with errors. (RIP)
Youtube Channel Gallery is a great alternative

I can’t even order the three thumbnails that I’ve been reduced to with the update.

You should updload updates here, how others plugins.

All sort of errors encountered with the free version of Tubepress making it completely unusable – scared to buy the pro version.
I did however get it to marginally work by downgrading to 4_1_5 off their site. Will move the client off this as soon as time permits.

It’s guys like these that give open-source a bad name. Luckily lots of other folks have figured out how to use YouTube’s API.

Google updated the API. This plugin author did not. Now it doesn’t work.
Not cool.

This developer gave no warning to users about forcing payment for their previously free plugin upon latest update. I wasted nearly two days trying to figure out why their plugin no longer worked. After digging endlessly through their user forum I found a partial fix, but only three video thumbnails showed up for each playlist.
More hours were spent looking for direction on how to make the plugin include all the videos in my playlist — finally, buried in a long post in their forum, the developer states that unless you purchase the Pro version you are limited to three videos.
I always support shareware, plugin and theme developers. However, this was a sleazy trick by Tubepress to force loyal users into buying a previously free plugin.
I suggest that this developer and his plugin be permanently banned from the WordPress plugin repository. Shame on him.

if you already “upgraded” to the new version just delete the tubepress folder from your “plugins” folder and copy an older backup (if you have one).
]]>Rating: 1 star
If you are still using an older version of the plugin that gives you more than 3 videos and you don’t want to pay for more than 3 videos, DO NOT UPDATE.
The updated free (crippled) version now limits you to 3 videos
This is all it says before you get the crippled version – There is a new version of TubePress available. View version 3.1.7 details or update now.
Thanks for the warning guys.

Title says it all. I can’t contain my anger and frustration right now.
Thanks for ruining our websites.

…and nobody cares about.
No updates all these days.

Great plugin! Nice addition to any site. Thank you.

Functionality and design are supreme. Code is buggy leaving implementation difficult. Searching for alternatives.

In this day and age, everything needs to be responsive. TubePress, which is otherwise a great plugin, falls way behind because it does not adapt to the width of the screen. Please make it responsive!

This plugin is awesome, if you don’t care about the 60% of mobile traffic that arrives at most sites.
I installed it on my podcasting site https://www.hablandodetecnologia.com and it works like a charm. That is, until you try to access the page from an iPhone. Then it’s a mess.
I contacted the creator but they don’t seem to care. They never even answered.
UPDATE:
I removed this plugin and replaced it with the Pro version of “Srizon Responsive Youtube Album” . It costs $15 but it’s worth every penny.

P3 – Plugin Performance Profiler (plugin) identified Tubepress as the heaviest plugin in the site I manage by far so I disabled it to see how much I save on load time. Here were the results:
Plugin Load Time: 0.330 (sec. per visit)
from
Plugin Load Time: 0.880 (sec. per visit)
Plugin Impact: 43.7% (of page load time)
from
Plugin Impact: 25.6% (of page load time)

Lack of responsiveness is a deal killer for me.

As a long time user of this plugin (late 2000s), this was the only real game around for youtube playlist playbacks. However, in the last couple of years there’s been a flurry of updates which has introduced more bugs than fixes, and broken the core functionality of the player — which is *NOT* responsive out of the box — which required me to manually roll-back to older versions. BTW- There are some CSS hacks floating on the net to make the player responsive, but its a hit or miss based on the theme one uses.
After much deliberation and finally not being able to handle complaints from clients, I’ve decided to replace tubepress with [ link redacted, please do not post links in the reviews section ] and couldn’t be more delighted. It’s a far more flexible, solid, and responsive solution.
Thanks for the early service, Tubepress, but it’s definitely time to say goodbye.

Thank you

Clicking on the Thumbnail never work. Few things was working in 3.7.1
They are not working in 3.8

It appears the developer is more interested in money for the PRO version. And like most developers forget that we try the free version before we decide to spend money. A lack of support is a definite Do Not Buy event.
It’s a good idea, rapidly becoming less important with all the other offerings out there, but no support for simple issues (divide by zero error!) – too bad really.

the plugin got in conflict with a few of my installed plugins. not big deal it happens but after uninstalling it is still effecting other codes. it left behind 98 orphan options in database tables . plugins like those should not be allowed to experiment on WP users

Last updates has reduced functionalities. And that is too bad.
