I’ve been using this plugin a long time, and it generally works well. But it still has issues with being applied too broadly.
The plugin incorrectly attempts to make a hyperlink when it finds the extremely common verb is
followed by any number.
This happened to me in phrases like these:
... water is 1,000,000× more valuable ...
This video is 30 minutes of fun ...
My mother's address is 1919 Washington ...
Obviously the plugin is interpreting is
as Isaiah
. This is really annoying, and I wish the plugin author would add an exception to prevent it.
I just found this plugin today. When I activate Truth, I receive an error “The plugin generated 264 characters of unexpected output during activation. If you notice “headers already sent” messages, problems with syndication feeds or other issues, try deactivating or removing this plugin.” The plugin isn’t creating links on posts, so a different plugin is currently enabled.
]]>I’m using an image with a filename of Matthew-5-9-peacemakers.jpg and alt text of Matthew 5:9 NIV. The plugin adds this block of text after the image in the post:
Matthew 5:9 – Blessed are the Peacemakers” class=”wp-image-1581″ srcset=”https://www.gwsmallwood.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/09/Matthew-5-9-peacemakers.jpg 1280w, https://www.gwsmallwood.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/09/Matthew-5-9-peacemakers-500×500.jpg 500w, https://www.gwsmallwood.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/09/Matthew-5-9-peacemakers-768×768.jpg 768w” sizes=”(max-width: 1280px) 100vw, 1280px” />
]]>In the plugin description, you state “When using YouVersion, a shortcode allows override of the default Bible version”. I can’t seem to get this to work. I have my default bible version in the Reading Settings option set to YouVersion NIV, with only the Open links in New Tab box selected. I tried specifying the version using a few shortcodes, but the link always opens to NIV. I’ve tried the following codes with no success. The link always opens the NIV translation.
[truth version=”esv”]Deuteronomy 30:1-10[/truth]
[truth version=”nlt”]Deuteronomy 30:1-10[/truth]
[truth version=”msg”]Deuteronomy 30:1-10[/truth]
We use this plug-in to provide links to Scripture citations for the above-referenced page. Most of the time it works well, however, there are random results that make no sense. For example, the May 1 entry on the above page resolves to Genesis 1:1 instead of Acts 8:26-40. I get the same result for Marck 3:21-43 and Galatians 3:21-25. I’ve checked the text version of the page and don’t find any unusual data there.
]]>I noticed others are having this problem for months. The youversion works, but I want the modal to work when the link is clicked (does not create link to bible.org).
Please provide a date this can be accomplished.
Thanks,
Jay
Looks like class-truth.php is missing.
Fatal error, breaks the site.

]]>I would like to see this plugin work with Vietnamese versions of the Bible that are included in YouVersion. I am willing to assist in this work or to provide some donation to get this to happen. Can you give me some direct contact info to discuss further?
I’ve been using your plugin for some time with a site that has an English speaking audience and greatly appreciate its simplicity and directness in pointing people to examine the Scripture themselves. Would like this same functionality and simplicity for a Vietnamese audience site.
Thanks much!
]]>First of all, thanks for the great plugin. We’ve been looking for one with “link to any translation” functionality for quite a while, and you’ve met that need.
I’ve compiled a list of a few cases on our site that aren’t being recognized (or linked correctly) by Truth. I hope these are helpful as you refine the plugin’s detection routine in the future.
– 1 Thessalonians 4:13-18 (not recognized as a reference)
– Jude 6 (links to “Jude chapter 6,” which doesn’t exist, rather than verse 6 in Jude’s only chapter)
– Passages spanning chapters such as Revelation 21:1-22:5 (recognized as “chapter 21, verses 1-22” with the “:5” going unrecognized)
Thanks again!
]]>Can be shown Romanian version of the Bible?
]]>I just installed this plugin to our church website and have noticed that a reference for chapter 11 in a book is not working for some reason. I have noticed this on both Job 11 and Genesis 11 on our page https://journeychurch.ma/bible. Anyone else experience this?
]]>Is there a way to have this plugin embed or insert the bible verse in place of the link? I’m not sure if youversion allows this or not but it would be great!
]]>Sjalom,
Would you add all the available YouVersion translations for this plugin, please ?!
]]>Hi,
i modify your Truth a little bit and now its ready Blogs.
Here you can Download my German Version. Its worked not perfekt, but its worked ??
For everyone, who want to test, please write.
Entschuldigt bitte mein schlechtes Englisch
]]>Great plugin.
It would be better if the verse link opened in the same browser window, or if there were an option for same window or new.
Thank you.
