I am trying tom import a GEDCOM file and according to the support pages (https://treepress.net/docs/treepress/3-0-importing-and-exporting-data/) I should see a sub menu ‘Import’ in the TreePress sidebar menu item. That menu item however does not show up. Coudl anyone help me out if I am missing something?

I have 7 family members but the tree only shows one member. I looked through the docs several times but can’t seem to figure out how to fix it. I have them all in one family group.

Hi, I am building a family history website, and our tree will have over 200 members, but I see in the plugin description, it states up to 200 family members, is 200 a limit? Or the tree can take more than 200?

After creating a chart, adding family, adding member, I access the chart through Permalink, but I can’t access, the 404 error appears.

Hello, I have two sites which use TreePress. The one mentioned above and also at https://senguptasofguthia.in/the-family-tree/.

After not having checked for a while, I now see that both websites tree are not working. It shows the message “Root ID is Required”.

It appears after the last update my families were unlinked, and all the data was put into custom fields. I have HUNDREDS of people in there. Is there any way to fix it?

I am French, the extension is translated to 99% in French. However, basic strings like “father” are not translated on the front-end, when displaying each family member.
Indeed, there is a problem to translate some strings from the class-treepress-node.php file, because they include a variable (I think this is the cause of the problem).
You can compare lines 194 (untranslatable) and 236 (translated). And also lines 201 / 211 / 218 / 220 cannot be translated for the same reason.
In addition to that, in line 248, there is also the term “none” which is not related to the text-domain for translation, so it cannot be translated.

I’m using the free version of your plugin and am an experience WP user. I’m also aware of the limitations of the free version. In my tree (which is only one branch as I know that more than one is not possible) I have individuals showing up more than once randomly in my tree which is weird to see.

I have checked the family relations three times to make sure that I did not mess up the structure that way. Can you please check as per the link I mentioned where you can see the tree wat is wrong?

Examples are Geertrui, Pieter, Adriana, Jan and Joanna on the left side.
Other than that all seems to work well.

I would love to understand whether this is a bug in the plugin or something I am doing wrong.

Note; Almost no plugins active (only basic and widly used onces) and a very generic theme (HelloElementor).

On plugin page I’ve seen that it’s possible to add a preview photo of a family member instead of default avatars. How to do it?

I have paid version and multiple spouse not support. example:

Lets say A & B (married) are at top of tree. Now I can add ancestors of A or B. One of them shows up fine. So lets say I added for A, and they show up. But if I add ancestors of B as well, then only one of them show up.

How do I get to show ancestors for both?

1. New install of WordPress
2. New install of plugin
3. Added famaly members
4. Created famaly group and added members to it

Can you expand the background line to full page? The background is square with black lines around it but I want to see if the line can change to different color and expand or adjust the height and width of the line to fit more family members instead of click and dread.

I want just want parent to be displayed for a family member, instead of showing N/A where a spouse information is not available, I want that N/A completely removed and just one parent only to be displayed.

I would like to import a Gedcom file that has 1637 Families, 7141 Individuals.
Question is what should the Family Name be set to for the TreePress Import?

Gedcom file is from MyHeritage Family Tree.

The 7141 individuals import ok when the family name is set to my surname, but because there’s only one family name there’s no linking Family Name to Individual.

When setting up this plugin, I noticed all permalinks followed the same structure as my blog posts.

Custom structure: /blog/%postname%/

This is for all generic post types instead of a custom post type. Clearly, this plugin creates unique posts and can, therefore, follow its own structure, just like every other custom post type I currently use (such as events, wiki entries, etc.).

I really love the idea of this plugin (and would be happy to pay for it) but this seems like a very straightforward requirement. It’s nice to have the separation between blog posts and other content and this is the only plugin that would break this. Is there a way around this?

I am looking into other visualization options after a simple plugin update made everything that was great about this platform break. The tree view just randomly shows members even though all members are assigned the same family. Some members are even showing up twice in the tree. With no activity on this support site for over three months I fear this platform is no longer supported. I am very disappointed. Now I have to figure out how to stop my monthly payment that obviously was not supporting the dependability and innovation of this product.

The tree is not showing correct information when it comes to divorces, new spouses and half siblings.

In some scenarios a person can get one of the parents wrong, often the younger one.
When the parents are divorced and got new spouses.

And also half siblings are only shown if the common parent is the root of the tree.
But not if one of the half siblings is.

Is this a thing in the free edition?
If not, are there any work in progress to make the tree handle the above in another way?

The trees on my pages are not displaying. I just get a grey box with profile pictures down the side when inserting the shortcode on a page. The tree does display correctly when using preview mode.
