I have a form from BookingWP. It works fine for English, Spanish, Slovenian, Portuguese (Brasil), etc., except for Portuguese (Portugal). When using Portuguese (Portugal) with TranslatePress it also translates the names of the input elements causing the form to not be submitted correctly because of the wrong names.
A custom form works fine.
Any idea why this might be happening? FYI, when not using TranslatePress but setting the site language to Portuguese (Portugal), it works fine. It’s just when using it with TranslatePress.

I have your plugin on my own site. Now i am building another site for someone and I downloaded your plugin because it works good. On my version I can add a new language, the second one. But on this site I cannot do that and what is the point of an translator plugin if you cannot add another language?
THE HISTORY:
This problem has been unresolved for almost 5 years…
The PROBLEM – Short version:
Translatepress translates “strings”, we know. but…. In machine translation, string selection separately translates “minor” or “decorative” html tags like , , , etc. instead of considering “block” or “phrase” tags like
or
.
The PROBLEM – Detailed version with example of the disaster
So, this how TranslatePress “translates” (or tries to) the following sentence:
"Buy a pink elephant on this web page."
First: it separate sentence and translate them separately:
Second: put it all together and hope it makes sense!
In Spanish, as expected, disaster struck:
"Comprar a rosa elefante en este página web."
This is 4 spelling mistakes and a serious grammatical one (in a sentence of 8 words!)
(Something like translating “I am Tarzan and you are Jane” into “Me Tarzan, you Jane”.)
How BIG is the problem?
This is a problem that completely affects the translation, which is the main purpose of the plugin, so I think it should be considered VERY SERIOUS and URGENT.
The Translatepress’ responses:
…sometimes may cause deviation from the original sentence structure when HTML tags such as bold and links are present within the text.
But the problem is not “sometimes”, nor is it a “deviation”, it happens “ALWAYS”, and the result is an INCORRECT, NOT VALID AND MEANINGLESS TRANSLATION.
One approach would be to wrap the page’s content with a translation block:
https://translatepress.com/docs/translation-editor/#translation-blocks
We tried adding the “translation-block” class to the paragraphs, and it seems to work well. But?how do we apply that to hundreds of pages and thousands of paragraphs with bolds or italics or links…?
The possible SOLUTION:
We understand the Translatepress translate by strings, but…
…Could the option be added for automatic translation to omit, in the selection of strings, the “minor” or “decorative” tags like? ?etc. and only consider “block” or “sentence” tags like
or
?
In fact, you already have as an option to avoid it manually with the class “translation-block”, right?
So it would be more accurate to configure Translatepress so that the usual behavior is to treat sentences as blocks (without separating bold words and links), and if someone wants (for some unknown reason) that the bold words or links are translated as isolated strings, then those people should activate it with the class “no-translation-block”.
HOPE IT HELPS..
But as @birtakimseyler said:
there are aspects of TranslatePress that I like. However, this situation always drives me to want to get rid of the product at the first opportunity. The moment I find something better, I will say goodbye to it.

This issue persists even with all plugins and themes updated to the latest versions. I’ve also tried various methods to delay the translation loading, but the warnings continue to appear. I suspect that the TranslatePress plugin may be triggering the early loading of text domains.
Could you please provide support or guidance on configuring TranslatePress to avoid this warning? Any recommendations or fixes would be greatly appreciated.

I have a website, robot-store.co.uk, which is aimed solely at a UK audience. However, we have acquired a new website for an international audience called robot-atelier.com. I requested my hosting company to clone robot-store.co.uk to robot-atelier.com so we could initially start with the French language and later add other languages. I have added robot-atelier.com/fr to reach French-speaking audiences, but we received the following message:
“Something went wrong, please try again.” Please see the attached TranslatePress screenshot for better understanding.
Additionally, I would appreciate your suggestions or recommendations on the following:
1. I have set French as my default language instead of English; is this correct?
2. I deactivated the “floating language selection” (see screenshot #2) because I only have French on this website, and more guidance would be appreciated.
3. Should the HTML Lang Attribute Format be set to “Default” or not?
4. I enabled the hreflang x-default tag for languages and added France; please confirm if this is correct. (see screenshot #3)
The plan is to start with French-speaking countries; however, as I am new to Translatepress, I have not yet read all the documentation. I want to ensure that I am using Translatepress correctly, as I do not want my original website, robot-store.co.uk, to be affected by having the same information on robot-atelier.com. My UK website is currently performing well, and I just want to ensure that SEO, duplicate content, and so on, do not negatively impact robot-store.co.uk.
I would appreciate your guidance to ensure I am on the right track. Also, please let me know the reason for the error message “Something went wrong, please try again,” and what actions I should take regarding it. Thank you.
