When trying to edit or mage a new post. The free plugin works fine. The pro version is crashing the site.

Thanks much; a very convenient alt text editing function! However, I have many pages, so I’ve got 18 screens to look through for the page I want to work on! Could you add a search function? Searching page titles would be sufficient. Or an option to show all pages on one screen? Then I could use the browser’s search function to find things.

We’re working on WordCamp Pontevedra Contributor Day, and from the Accessibility table, they sent us this plugin to translate it.

We’ve seen that only in 4 strings appear on GlotPress, so we think that is not prepared for translations.

It seems like there’s still some problem with page content being changed when you enter alt text from the front end post/page editor and update.
Specifically, curly quotes and foreign accents eg ó are modified in the page content.

When editing alt text could you make the thumbnails of the images clickable to bring up a lightbox with the image so we can see it in full size? Sometimes the thumbnails aren’t clear enough to discern what the image is.

When I activate the plugin I lose access to Jetpack’s dashboard and settings.

“Jetpack encountered an error and was unable to display the Dashboard. Please try refreshing the page.”

and I have this php warning:

I could just deactivate when not using but a solution would be nice.

WP Version 5.8.2 – Multiste – Genesis framework

This plugin is quite useful, but we have found when you are doing bulk edits for images missing alt text that it updates the modified date of the post. While this makes sense, it’s generally not great since this changes the update date in meta information, updates sitemaps, and tells Google the post has been updated, when nothing outside of image alt tags have. Please include a way to disable updating the modified date when making these changes. We don’t need Google thinking we have updated all of our post in one day.

I have just used the plugin to add alt text to images inside posts / pages where missing.

When reviewing the posts it had often times (but not always) removed all of the content except for the image.

This was using the classic editor on a genesis theme.

It seemed to remove all content apart for the image, when the image was the first part of the content.

Latest version of WordPress and your plugin.
Switched over to Twenty-Twenty Theme and disabled all plugins.
Even turned on your Troubleshooting option.

But wordpress/wp-admin/options-general.php?page=pitheme-seo&tab=images#/ Never loads. Bubble circles load forever.

Using dev tools I was able to find and visit links to the other tabs, and they seem fine (though for the Accessibility Audit, it is near impossible to figure out which item is being referenced, by say the contrast checker, when an item does not meet standards – sure would be nice if a Giant Yellow Highlight would appear when we click on a particular error, so we can locate each issue on the page. However, I presume it *is* working as expected.)
Note that I cannot click on any tabs with the forever loading overlay intercepting all clicks. But since actual urls are listed in the HTML, I can visit the *other* tabs that way.

On the other hand, NO BUTTONS on the IMAGES Tab (default when opening the plugin) work :-((. I also cannot figure out how to force any of those options/pages/filters/?? to load — I cannot figure out a URL for, ANY of the buttons on the Images tab. They do NOT appear in the HTML.
I am particularly interest is the Pages tab.

Essentially this plugin is 100% useless, if it will not load.
Again, I turned off ALL other plugins, switched to WP’s 2020 theme.
And this plugin still will not load.

Is my image library too large?? If so Why not allow an option to use look only at some subset. Or allow me to load the PAGES button/option by default?

Perhaps having some images in a subdirectory messes it up?
If that were the case, it should work fine if I was able to load the PAGES option.
How can I force this plugin to do this?

To be honest I am not entirely sure this plugin is even compatible with the Pro Theme / X Theme. As its “framework”(?) uses modules for inserting elements like images. But I was hoping that it would at least make it easy to locate images that do not have alt text. I could SEE the image on the Page, then in the backend, quickly locate that image (visually) and edit accordingly.

I have WordPress installed in its own directory, as per WordPress guidelines, where the Site Url and Home Url are NOT the same (ie the wordpress directory does NOT show up in the address bar as part of the URL on the front end.)
This *should not* be an issue. It is common. It is an option described by WordPress (and is the reason the two values *can* be different, even if it they are the same by default.)

Again, the only other thing that may be non-default, is that my uploads folder does have some subdirectories inside the dated folders. It has not caused issues, though the media library cannot list images in those subdirectories. But then, they are not officially part of the media library anyway. It would not be possible to move them out of those folders. Plus many urls would break. I do not expect any of those images to be referenced in the Media Button (default) on the Images tab. Though on the Pages Button, I would think that any URL on the page would show up and be listed.
Is there a way to test this theory? That could both explain the loading issue (which undoubtly a few other users will run into. It could also make this plugin useful to me, personally.

How can I make the page load as if the PAGES BUTTON was chosen, rather than the MEDIA BUTTON?

Users with editor privileges cannot add descriptions. After entering the plugin, the message “you do not have permissions …” appears.

I add the caption, alt tag, and description and hit update. It flickers and nothing changes!

Newly installed Web Accessibility Tools and Alt Text Finder. When I go to the Settings menu and click on Accessibility tools I get the main Accessibility Tools screen and the three circulating bubbles and it stalls there ad infinitum.

Hi, while using this plugin to replace missing alt tags in pages, I noticed some pages becoming empty. It turns out that the DOM was being parsed incorrectly due to those pages not having a wrapping element around the content.
Also, on other pages, the resulting content would contain symbols that were previously not present. This was due to wrong encoding being used for parsing the DOM.

After looking into the source of the plugin, I have managed to find a fix to those problems. Please take a look at the recommendations below and see if there are any potential problems with it or any improvements that can be made. Otherwise it would be great if they could be integrated into the next version so that others do not end up with the same issues.

The changes are to be applied to dvin508-post-api.php, mainly the content_merge function. Added lines come after the comments in the code below.

I’m having trouble deciphering the color contrast issue that the plugin is flagging on the roll-over ctas on this page: https://www.nisivoccia.com

Here’s a link to the screenshot of the dashboard flagging the issue. From what I’m seeing it’s saying that’s there’s white over white? But what is it exactly flagging?

The Image Optimization tab -> Media shows alt text as missing on images that I have alt text already set using Gutenberg.

It doesn’t include any Pages under the “Show All Pages”. It just shows the Posts on both tabs.

I am using Combine Lite theme, WordPress 5.1 and PHP 7.1.

Whenever I select the accessibility tool I see the main screen grayed out with “progress” dots and it never changes – no matter how long I wait.

For the user names in android app for our drivers’ android mobile phones, do we need to assign them first in our wp site (and how), or is it assigned freely by our fleet’s drivers?

I love how easy this plugin is to use but when I hover over an image that I’ve set alt text for in this plugin, I don’t see the alt text show on hover.

I installed this through the WordPress Plugin page for adding a plugin. When I tried to activate it, I got the following response:
“The plugin does not have a valid header.”

I deleted it and tried again. Same result. Next, I used the link on your page below the section that has a link to the plugin page. It downloaded a zip file and I was able to install and activate that one. It seems the one from the WP plugin page is bad but the one from your website page is good. Is it the latest version?

Hi, I’m having trouble with getting the plugin to work on a client’s website that uses the Avada theme. When I go the ADA & SEO main screen I get the three loading bubbles that just repeat. Thanks in advance.
