I have been using this CSS code:
.tippy_link {
color: black;
text-decoration: none;
font: bold 1em sans-serif;
}
It reformats the normal blue underlined text “(weitere Infos)” to bold and black text. Only the underline is not taken away.
Also in the HTML code, using the same code for it, the underline is not taken away. Although it does work for the text that appears as a popup.
How do I solve this problem?
Hello,
I have image on site and when you hover over it, it shows another image and when you click on it is opens url. That is perfect for desktop but on mobile there is no hover and when you tap on it it doesnt show that image but opens url instead.
So I am asking if there is way to just show image on first tap/click and open url on second.
Hello,
I love your plugin and am using it in a menu. I have a need to display hundreds of menu items (chapters of books) and have not found a menu plugin that will work. Tippy was a life-saver for me!
My issue is only seen on the mobile iOS browser (iPhone). None of the emulators I’ve tried will reproduce the issue. It seems that Tippy is not shown when there are many (> 100) tips present.
If you go to my site https://www.realclearbible.com/, in the top menu choose commentary, then hover on books like “Genesis”… you will see the tooltips no problem. But do down a bit to “Matthew”… the content is white. You can still click the buttons if you know where they are, but you cannot see them.
Again this is only an issue with iPhone IOS. Chrome and Safari have the issue on the iPhone. Everything works great on desktop. I’m wondering what is causing the issue, and if there might be a workaround. Thanks!

Hi, is there a way to get both an image and text to pop up upon hovering over some text using Tippy?

Hey,
So I noticed that tippy wasn’t re-sizing properly for mobile browsers and some of the popup didn’t look like it “connected” well.
Basically you need to set a max-midth allowed for the header-body and tooltip window for it to resize for mobile devices.
I also resized the default width to be 450 pixels all around.
File modified:
jquery.tippy.css
.tippy_tip {
max-width: 100%;
width: 450px;
height: 300px;
border-radius: 5px;
box-shadow: 0px 0px 3px #888, 4px 4px 6px #888;
z-index: 50;
}
.tippy_header {
background-color: #ccc;
max-width: 100%;
width: 450px;
padding: 5px;
border-radius: 5px 5px 0 0;
font-weight: bold;
text-align: left;
}
.tippy_body {
background-color: white;
padding: 10px 15px 10px 15px;
max-width: 100%;
width: 450px;
max-height: 275px;
border-radius: 0 0 5px 5px;
position: relative;
overflow: auto;
}

Hello,
I think it’s a common problem, but I didn’t find a solution yet. The background of the Tooltip is transparent on the right site.
I am using the Tippy Plugin for showing Amazon products when you hover over the text.
How can I make the background white (non-transparent)?
Here you can see my problem:

Hello.
It might be nice to add support for the “rel” attribute. That way we can use it with other plugins that might use the rel attribute. It looks like there was also someone else that wanted the ability to do rel=”nofollow”.
Sorry if this is a dumb question. But do links in Tippy support rel=”nofollow”? Can someone post an example of how to use it with Tippy? Thanks.

Hi,
I have another issue which will hopefully be easier to resolve. When I added the Tippy code to a word it caused the following word to move down as if it were a new paragraph. I have this code in my text box;
[tippy title=”What’s”](what is…?)?qué es…?[/tippy] money
but money goes onto a new paragraph in my website. This can be seen on the following page….

Any help would be greatly appreciated!
Thank you!
Hi group,
I am using
– WordPress 4.1 with thema Twenty Twelve,
– Tablepress 1.5.1
– Tippy 6.2.1
Each table has a column named titel (title):
https://www.boekentaal.eu/vertaalde-titels/young-adult/
When I hover over the titel I like to see an image:
[tippy title=”Gevangene van de nacht (Prisoner of night and fog)” width=”200″ height=”300″]
<img src=”https://www.boekentaal.eu/wp-content/images/gevangene.jpg” alt=”gevangene” width=”200″ height=”300″ class=”alignnone size-medium wp-image-117″ />
[/tippy]
This worked fine for the first two instances, at the third Tippy starts to behave strang: Not only the current title is displayed, but also a part of the title two rows lower. See image https://www.boekentaal.eu/wp-content/images/tippy3.png
Anybody any idea?
All help and advice are appreciated!
Kind regards,
Ton Akveld
Hello!
I have an issue in firefox when I add autoshow=”true”. With this function tippy break the whole website. I’m using a bad theme I think, I asked to the developer to help me but he said I have to ask to the plugin’s developer… does anybody could help me on how to diagnose the issue?
Thank you tippy’s lovers!
Hi,
I’m so sorry for having to ask a stupid question but I’m completely new at this and I’m struggling! I really need to change the blue colour of the trigger text (header?). I tried following the guidelines, i.e. adding the following rule to my theme’s stylesheet:
.tippy_header {
font-size: 3;
color: black;
}
That didn’t work so I tried following the instruction to copy the tooltip’s css to my theme′s folder but I think I did it wrong. First of all, I couldn′t find the plugins/tippy/tippy.css file so I tried copying another css file (jquery.tippy.css) which mentioned header colors (well, it had tippy_header {
background-color: #ccc; which I don′t think is what I want anyway). I just copied all the text from this file-maybe I′m supposed to copy the file as a whole? And I added it to the css stylesheet because I didn’t know where else to put it! So it′s no wonder it didn′t work really!
Any help would be greatly appreciated!
Thank you,
Kerry

Any idea how to require only one touch?
Thank you
I am using the Tippy plugin to have tooltips on the calender generated by the Events Manager Extended plugin (now called Events Made Easy).
Tippy works fine on the current month, but if you page forward or back by a month or more, the tooltips no longer show up and in fact all of the calendar entries are gone. See: https://pacificcrossroads.org/connect/event-calendar/
When I disable Tippy, the calendar entries show up again.
This was working on a very old version of Tippy (3.5.2), but stopped working all of a sudden (all calendar pages were blank, including current). We didn’t touch anything; perhaps due to WordPress core auto update? I upgraded to the latest version of Tippy (6.2.1), which restored the current month, but not the other months.
I have tried different versions of the events plugin (the live website has old, my offline version has latest), and it makes no difference.
Here is the shortcode I am using (where items beginning with # are substituted by the Evens plugin:
[tippy title=”#_NAME” href=”#_EVENTPAGEURL” header=”on” window=”same”]
Any idea what is causing this problem? Might be some ajax issue.
Thank you for your plugin,
Brian
Hi, first of all thanks for the amazing plugin. I use this on several of my sites but have recently ran into an issue of paragraph tags being inserted immediately after Tippy text on WP 4.0.
I’ve already added the following to my functions.php to stop WordPress from doing this:
remove_filter( ‘the_content’, ‘wpautop’ );
remove_filter( ‘the_excerpt’, ‘wpautop’ );
I’ve also tried several plugins to disable auto-formatting causing the
tags from being inserted.
I followed the instructions from my theme maker regarding formatting within the included builder:
https://www.kriesi.at/support/topic/how-to-avoid-rendering-extra-line-breaks/
I’ve managed to get rid of other auto-formatting, spacing and breaks but still can’t get rid of the extra paragraph tags inserted directly after Tippy shortcode, even after adding subtip=”true.”
Any suggestions on how to get around this? I really want to use Tippy, but am being thwarted by extra
tags. ??
You can see this happening after “designerly ways” text in the last paragraph here: https://portfolio.bgraphicstudio.com/edtech/demo/
When the upper edge of a tooltip occupies the same area as the horizontal menu bar, the menu bleeds through the tooltip. An example is the button “Download eMSAT-1” at the top of https://www.edrm.net/resources/emsat1
Any suggestions about how to correct this? Thanks.
Hello,
I spent some time getting Tippy to work just fine on a site, but when I finished and logged out of WordPress I discovered that the mouseover images I use to display tips on mouseover are not visible when logged out of WordPress. They are visible and work fine only when logged into WordPress.
Any clue about the cause of the problem? Thanks in advance.

Hello everyone, I was wondering if I can use this plugin in the case of a specifi image area in an image map. For example if we have something like this:

Can I use one tippy for each image area using this plugin?
Thanks in advance!
Hi
I’d like to request you a feature addition that might be useful for non-technical persons like me.
Typing in code attribute for each and every word’s tool tips is bit annoying.
How about SELECTING the word and pressing a BUTTON from Kitchen sink to enter the Tool tip contents, viola! easy as that!

I cannot get the anchor to work. Here is what I have:
.showhere {
width: 325px;
height: 1px;
}
This is the main graphic and wording…
[tippy img=”https://mountainash.org/worksite2/wp-content/uploads/2014/02/services1-273×300.jpg” position=”absolute”
]Construction Engineering & Shoring Design
This is where you put a description.[/tippy]
