If I use this plugin to make the featured image link to a lightbox version – is the lightbox image responsive?

First of all, thanks so much for making this great plugging.
Sadly it seems like my theme is not corresponding with it.
Is there any way for me to use it or any other way to ad links to my responsive images (or even take out the links completely)?
