Hello,
I’m getting tons of those warnings since a couple of days:
Warning: session_start(): Failed to read session data: files (path: /var/cpanel/php/sessions/ea3) in /wp-content/plugins/the-holiday-calendar/the-holiday-calendar.php on line 76
Warning: session_start(): open(/var/cpanel/php/sessions/ea3/sess_2cbf6f19d178d29d2871e2f439ad002d, O_RDWR) failed: No such file or directory (2) in /wp-content/plugins/the-holiday-calendar/the-holiday-calendar.php on line 76
Any clues?
Thanks.
]]>i had to roll back to version 1.18
because if i enable your version 1.18.1,
this page doesn’t work, all the input are freezed and nothing works.
There is an error in line 5 that prevents the recognition of the month of “January” in other languages.
The original line in the file is:
“$ monthTranslations = array (__ (‘January’, ”), __ (‘February’, ‘the-holiday-calendar’), __ etc. etc.”
The correct line is:
“$ monthTranslations = array (__ (‘ January ‘, ‘the-holiday-calendar’), __ (‘ February ‘, ‘ the-holiday-calendar ‘), __ etc. etc. ”
By correcting it, the translations in other languages ??are also fine.

How I can add holidays for a country?

Hi!
After looking at this plugin, I’ve seen there’s some issue (in translate and functionnality). Could you say is there a way to contribute to this plugin?
Thanks,

]]>Hi! I like this plugin, but when I went to the WP adminpanel in “Tools” – “Site Health”,
I saw…
The request to the REST API failed due to an error.

I am sure that the reason is in the plugin, because when you turn it off everything is fine. Hope this can be fixed.
]]>Hi i installed this really great plugin that does exactly what i need. I added it to the content with the shortcut and want to display the title of each event in the date field itself. Anything i can add to the shortcut in order to get text and not just a linked number in the datefield? Thanks a lot Susanne

]]>Hi,
I use the plugin and the events are well displayed in the footer via the widgets. Now I want to display the events on the page itself via the short code. I have tried it on multiple pages but nowhere are the events visible. Am I missing something that does not show the events?
Thanks in advance for your response!

Some commemorative dates are appearing even though I have using the “showholydays =”no” on the page.
It does not contain any item created with this “Valentine’s Day” option, and even then, the date keeps popping up and still repeated three times.
Can you help me?
]]>I am using the Version 1.15.7.3 on my footer of website [ redundant link removed ] and it is abnormally bigger than other footer contents. I want a way to edit the size say I want to make it 200px x 200px in size without touching the code.
I am talking about the calendar mode.
hi, widge list doesnt show today nov22 thanksgiving day?
i did not find any setting i can choose country?
how do i import holidays from your website? i dont see anywhere i can import?
please help, thank you.
I’m assuming that new events won’t show up alongside my actual posts, but do I need to worry for example that WordPress will email my blog subscribers with events I create as if they were posts?
Is there any way at all that events will appear to be “posts” outside of their use by this plugin for calendar events?
]]>Hello Mva7,
I hope you’re fine. I need a little help from you.
When a given holiday date is clicked in the calendar it goes to a page where
some info of that holiday is showed. As you can see in the link below, the page title for all holidays is “thc-events”. My questions are, where that title comes from? Is there any possibility of change or translate that to spanish?

Any help would be very much appreciated it.

]]>From a user that e-mailed us:
Well, you asked me, what I would suggest for your plugin The Holiday Calendar.
I should appreciate, if you could invente the possibility of removing the date.
Cause I use it on my blog XXXXX to announce the coming articles, because it removes itself, as soon as the date is past and therfore very useful.
I write as an ex., that on friday, the 26. of January, an article about running is coming. Then I expects it to disappear the day before of course.
But I can′t do that. Instead I must write the date 26. 01 and next to it I will have to set in your program the date one day before; else it wont disappear.
That is rather akward. You may see it yourself in the right column on top.
Well, if this was possible, it would be great. Or, as a second solution, one could choose a category in the Holiday Calendar. Then I have a programm, that can remove your date.
]]>Hi there,

]]>I have the Holiday Calendar short-code at this location on my site:
/extra/events-calendar/
When I click on a link it produces it takes me to:
/events/?date=2018-02-19&country=ca
Problem is that /events/ already exists on my site and is used for another plugin. I only use Holiday Calendar to list holidays, not as an event calendar (have a different plugin for that).
What I suggest is that the link should look like this instead:
/(short-code’s URI)/holiday/?date=2018-02-19&country=ca
In the case of my website:
/extra/events-calendar/holiday/?date=2018-02-19&country=ca
Is there a way for this to be fixed? If unable to detect the short-code location then maybe allow us to add the URI for the links in the short-code – ex: URI=”/extra/events-calendar/holiday/”
Even if the short-code’s URI wasn’t included, just /holiday/ instead of /event/ would be a simple quick fix for now (or maybe allow us to define the page slug in a setting somewhere).
BTW thanks for adding Canada to your supported countries.
]]>Hello,
since the last update, in the sidebar plugin, the last five entries of the year are shown instead of the following five entries.
as far as i know i did nothing else, but updating the plugin.
Any suggestions?
Regards,
René
I created some events using this plugin and everything went fine, at least for 2 months. After that, the newly created events won’t load on the calendar view. I add almost 250 events and I discovered that if I update the states of an old events to draft, a new one appears after a reload. It make me thinks that a specific number of events is loaded but from the beginning and not around the current date…
Is there anything that I can do to avoid getting back every 1-2 month to change the states of old events ? That’s, I think, a dirty workaround, since the old events are “lost” according the user…
Perhaps a query to get only the events from the current month when using the calendar view ?
]]>Hello Mva7,
Thanks for this nice plugin. It blends beautifully with my theme (Kidzy).
I managed to insert it into a footer widget and customized a few issues due to the footer styling. The real issue comes with the months navigation links. When clicked it goes to the blog page.
I did read other two questions on this forum about it, and cannot find a useful answer to the problem. But I found that the problem is related to the condition of being in a widget on the homepage. That is because if I place the calendar in a widget on the sidebar it works well, refreshing the page but works well. On the footer widget doesn’t. Could you, please, take a look at that. That’s the only thing that kept the plugin from being perfect.
I tested it on other themes like WP twentyseventeen, Themefreesia’s Edge, Envato’s Mediacenter and the same result.
I’m building a website for a nursery school and I want to use your calendar for display events and national holiday dates. By the way, if it possible, what do you need to include Venezuela’s holidays in theholidaycalendar.com? You might use this two links:
– https://www.timeanddate.com/calendar/?country=48
Thanks in advance

Even though Canada and the US share some holidays (ex: Christmas), some are observed/celebrated on different dates (ex: Thanksgiving) and some not observed/celebrated by the US at all (ex: Victoria Day).
This is an awesome plugin/widget and would love to be able to use it on my Canadian websites.

]]>How is the date generated at the end of the Event post title?
https://sfgirlschorus.org/events/sf-girls-chorus-school-graduation-spring-concert/
I would rather not have it there.
I see in your settings there is an option to Show date on event page. Unticking does not remove it from the H1.entry-title.
thank you!
