Lovely, lovely little plugin, but forum appears to have been abandoned.
We’re meant to press a little downwards arrow icon to the right of the media uploader, which triggers a popup dialogue box. Entering text in that however (no formatting options available, WordPress 3.5) outputs a string of unformatted text, so forget that.
Instead, format the part of the post you want to reveal/hide as per normal posts, then manually place [EXPAND whatever] [/EXPAND] around that block of text. The ‘whatever’ can be any characters at all (presumably) and simply acts as an identifier for that block of text. Therefore we can have multiple sliders:
[EXPAND whatever]
My list will be revealed
[/EXPAND]
[EXPAND somethingelse]
My pictures will be revealed
[/EXPAND]
Tested in WP 3.5 and Chrome, Safari, Opera, IE and FF, worked in all of them.
Just wondering if there’s a way to change the word(s) after text has been expanded?
For example, my expander is currently titled ‘more’. I want it to change to ‘less’ after it’s expanded.
Thanks For Any Help!!!

I’m using this plugin to list courses on a clients page. The page got to be to long so this plugin worked out perfect for me. I was looking for like an FAQ solution with the drop down function and found this.
100% satified!
Hi,
For some odd reason, there is a

tag being included within the first expand block. Checking the code hasn’t shown any such elements. What could be causing this issue?
I tried it out and I see the shortcode ([EXPAND][/EXPAND]) on the screen and it doesn’t expand.
Once you fix it you may want to put how to use it in the readme because I first tired the shortcode it was based on and then had to dig in the code to see the shortcode.
The plugin works fine on Firefox 6.x and 7.x, but for IE 7, it does not. On page load where the plugin is implemented, all expanded text is open by default. Clicking the expanding/collapsing text-link does nothing.
Also, on page load, a JS error occurs in IE 7.
Error: “Expected identifier, string, or number.”
Let me know if you need more info.
Thanks.
Good day. If you have a look here: https://aissolutions.ca/clients/enerq…ining/courses/ and click on the “Title Example” link, you will see that when the content drops down, some of the content is cut off (as the page is not pushing down and resizing).
Any assistance would be appreciated.
Can anyone figure out how to edit this plugin code to allow a given section to be expanded by default? Not all of them, just one, e.g. with a tag like
[expand Click To Expand expanded=”true”]
This text starts out expanded when the page is loaded.
[/expand]
one of the problems is the tag looks for all text inside it for the link text, vs using a parameter. so it would have to be rewritten to do something like this
[expand title=”Click To Expand” exapnded=”true”]
but that would not be backwards compatible. so maybe it could cleverly parse out the expanded=”” parameter and remove it from the title text…
At least while testing on my own machine, the links don’t appear to expand/contract in IE7, they just stay expanded. Has anyone figured out a fix for this?
I would like to be able to add classes/styles to the link you click to expand the text, but this seems not to work. Any ideas?

Can someone please explain how to use Text Expander? I have downloaded and activated the plug-in, but I do not see any link other than the standard more link in the post edit menu. Is there a keyboard shortcut? I cannot find an link to expanding text in either the visual or html menu. Does one have to add this code manually to the html??
I realize this probably something simple. Any clarification on Text Expander’s use would be appreciated.
Thanks in advance.
