I would avoid using this plugin until the devs update it
It will cause headers already sent errors in your error log and will also prevent most of the backend from being displayed
]]>This plugin needs updating on line 158 in order to get it to work. replace
$themes = get_themes();
with
$themes = wp_get_themes();
And you’re good to go.
]]>Getting notifications that this plugin has not been updated in years, nor tested with the current version of WordPress. Has it been abandoned? Does it still have value in its current form. A user of free templates, it seemed a good idea at the time of install. Thanks!

Does anyone have any recommendations on similar plugins?
Thanks.
]]>HI,
I received some feedback from the TAC plugin that some links are static, as follows.
What am I supposed to do, exactly, in relation to those static links?

Hopefully this forum is still active, I am unable to activate TAC in the latest version of WordPress (I have a clean install).
Plugin could not be activated because it triggered a fatal error.
Parse error: syntax error, unexpected '[' in /home/user/public_html/wp-content/plugins/wp-authenticity-checker-wac/wordpress_authenticity_checker.php on line 13
I’m not exactly sure how to modify the code to make it work. Thanks!

Juste for information :
My error in TAC page :
Notice: get_themes est deprecated Since version 3.4! Usewp_get_themes(). in D:\wamp\www\wordpress381\wp-includes\functions.php on line 2908
Hello –
Awesome plugin! I did have a quick question though… Does this just scan for malicious code/links in the theme directory OR will it also scan all plugins I have installed on my site?
I believe there are some malicious links in a plugin I have uploaded on one of my sites so I was wondering if TAC also scans plugins and not just themes.
]]>When I activate Debug, I’ve got the notice:
]]>Notice: get_themes is deprecated since version 3.4! Use wp_get_themes() instead. in …/wp-includes/functions.php on line 2839
If a theme includes a file that is hosted on another domain, it is not being detected. I found this out only when seeing odd load and photo not being displayed.
-png file embeded in theme option section
-java script widget from third party
I believe plugin only look for “a href” but suggest that it searches for all URLs.
]]>I’m pretty new to WP but it didn’t take me long to find out how bad free themes can be for your health. I just installed TAC 1.5 knowing full well I have been experimenting with a theme from Padd Solutions (known to contain very dodgy footer links) on my local dev site and yet TAC is reporting the theme as OK.
Before we go any further, I’m getting an error message in the rendered footer of my dev site as follows which I’m also trying to unpick:
Warning: gzuncompress() [function.gzuncompress]: data error in C:\xampp\htdocs\wordpress\wp-content\themes\tincredible\includes\required\template-top.php(1) : eval()’d code(1) : eval()’d code on line 49
I’m looking into what’s causing this error above so apologies if this is the cause of TAC failing to spot the bad theme, but should it?

clicking on edit shows
The requested theme does not exist.
any thoughts or tips on how I can fix this?
]]>Is this what the plugin does?
I was searching for a WordPress theme for a Car Rental Service’s website. My search took me here carrentaltheme-com/ . The demo is available here demo-carrentaltheme-com/.
It is a free theme, my concern is the authenticity (safe with no malicious codes) of the theme. I earlier used a free WordPress theme and got my web hosting account compromised!
When I check the theme with TAC it says
Theme Ok!1 Static Link(s) Found...
Does this mean the theme is safe to use? By safe I mean ‘No hidden malicious codes’?
Thank you for your help.
]]>plugin is not working with 3.4 and above as it is not displaying the issue discription

I have installed TAC 1.5 and it shows Encrypted Code Found on one of our themes but on clicking details button nothing happens nor it shows any encrypted code
previously i had wordpress 3.1 and it worked very much fine after upgrade to 3.4 the above problem started to arise

]]>I’m curious about this plugin. It looks great. I’ve read awesome reviews about this plugin. Is there a simple page or file I can put in my server to flag an error?
Does TAC only scan when clicked from the Appearance menu?
Thanks,
Bob

has_cap fue llamado con un argumento que está obsoleto desde la versión 2.0! El uso de niveles de usuarios por plugins y temas está obsoleto. Usa los perfiles y capacidades en su lugar.
This a wonderful plugin to scan themes, I love this theme.
Hoping to see for plugin security from the developer.

]]>Seems to work with WP 3.1 multi user multi site.
Find it under Appearance : TAC
Brilliant!
I downloaded some themes from a “free themes” site, and they all contain sponsor links in the footer. TAC sees those as “static links” and flags them. But it doesn’t flag the fact that there are 3-4 places (in functions.php and header.php) where obfuscated code (using str_rot13) checks the footer and kills the site if the links are removed. In fact, it gives them the green “Theme OK!” sign.
Just something to watch out for…
(BTW, the theme’s author doesn’t list a license anywhere on his “free themes” site. In some of the comments on the site, he says it’s a Creative Commons license… but he doesn’t say which one, and the standard attribution Creative Commons license does NOT require you to keep sponsored links. Just FYI.)
]]>I found encrypted malicious data in my wordpres theme: Sky Theme 1.0 by Free WordPress Themes
I had done alot of customization to the site right up until I found the code with your plugin…shouldn’t this be illegal and how do I get rid of it (TAC was unable to allow me to edit it out “base_64 decode)?
Thanks,
Jason C.
I check every theme with TAC but it failed me on this occasion.
I got a theme with some hidden codes in the footer.php of one of my websites which TAC did not detect. While the code was relatively harmless, TAC never reported them in as outbound links in the theme.
I thought i should let you know if it helps in future development in anyways.
