HUGE WEAKNESS: It doesn’t search your pages. The search functionality is creates doesn’t search your pages. It only searches your posts.
SECOND WEAKNESS: Swiftype is NOT FREE. It is COSTLY.
You are paying a third party to run a server to search your website and create “relevant” search from the data it obtains from your website.
And if it gets the relevance wrong, you have to manually correct it on their website. This is tedious work.
The minimal cost is $79 a month and goes up the searches and documents are used on your website.

Доброго времени суток, тестировал для своего сайта плагины для поиска, этот плагин сразу запросил API, зарегистрировался без проблем, только как оказалось этот плагин бесплатный на 14 дней, дальше нужно приобретать его, самый дешевый вариант 299 доларов, однако зачем мне приобретать на сайт визитку где посещаемость в месяц 20 человек ? По стоимости больше чем сам некоммерческий проект. Каждый разработчик зарабатывает как может и сам выбирает путь, но политика этого плагина мне не понравилась.

I’m sure Swiftype is a good service but I think it’s overpriced.
Their PRO plan is good for nothing as all the goodies are for the Business plan which will cost you 249 $ per month
I pay that much for my VPS.

I really like some of the features of this plugin (mostly the dropdown of suggested pages while typing in the search box), but the fact that it pretty much makes it impossible to use pagination in search results makes it a deal-breaker. There are some workarounds to limit the number of posts displayed on the results page, but the pagination links don’t work correctly while using this plugin.

Swiftype is an excellent replacement to the default search in WordPress. One of my favorite features is the auto suggest when typing a few characters. Generally, it always has the post I’m looking for in the first three suggested links.
If you’re looking for something way better than the default search in WordPress, give Swiftype a try.

This plugin works great for small websites. For large websites with over 10,000 posts, they charge $179 per month. There is no indication of the fee until when you install the plugin. A few weeks later an agent will send you an email telling you to pay up or stop using the plugin. This should have been mentioned during installation.
Another example of freemium software using misleading tactics to ramp up business. Some sort of mention of the fees should have been included on the www.remarpro.com page.

I was using relenvanssi until now. For some post of my site it will not come. Today only I discover Swiftype Search. It is far far better than relevanssi. It not only display result perfectly. It also display your post title while you typing. I recommend ‘Swiftype Search’. Don’t use relenvanssi.

Three things I love about Swiftype:
1. The “instant” autocomplete dropdown search results. I haven’t found any other plugin that functions this smoothly.
2. Being able to customize my search results for specific keywords using drag-n-drop.
3. Analytics for which keywords were searched for and which keywords returned 0 results.

I viewed the instructional set-up videos first, then installed it as per their on-screen directions.
Installation took only a couple of minutes – literally.
The longest part – again a minute or so – was waiting for all 1200 posts and pages to be indexed.
I tested the searching, and it works fast and well. Analytics are available immediately online.
I’ve also made a desktop short-cut to the Swiftype Analytics page to check the site search results directly.

I run a very large WordPress install for a single site. Search is a paramount issue for me. This plugin makes the integration with Swiftype a breeze. And while all that would be good in itself, the support I received when I did have an issue this week, takes plugin support to a new level… It took them just 2 hours to roll out a new release in the WordPress repository fixing the “issue” – it really wasn’t an issue with their plugin but how large of a site I was trying to index… Thanks Matt!
