On a page that uses the [sc_events_calendar ] short code, in the title of the day of the event there is css such as :
Thanksgiving <span style=”….
I would like to use this plugin but this is stopping me. Please advise.
if the SG Calendar block widget is used, this does not appear, however, the event is only a popup.

I am not sure if I am just blind, but how can I change the weekly view to monthly? Every widget and shortcode is set to “next week/previous week”. But I want to have a view on current month and switch months ??

Firstly I have something that is preventing my calendar buttons from working properly. I am disabling other plugins to work out what it i.
Secondly is it possible to display this list
https://sugarcalendar.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/08/events-list-block.png
But say just the next 3 events. I see a short code that works, is it possible to format the output of the short code to look better?
As this i likely to be the main feature of my website and business I will likely get pro at some point, just trying to prove to myself it does what I need.
Hi the calendar view is not loading the events on the specific date and there is a gif tha shows thats is loading

]]>In WordPress core as of 5.8.0, the value of should_load_separate_core_block_assets
is set to false
by default.
In WordPress 5.9.0, _add_default_theme_supports
added a filter to set should_load_separate_core_block_assets
to true
for block themes.
In general, by default, from what I can tell, classic themes expect block assets to be loaded together, block themes expect assets to be provided separately. The filter gives us the ability to customize that.
In Sugar Calendar Lite (and Pro) 3.1.0, should_load_separate_core_block_assets
is filtered to true
as part of the init process for the blocks included with the plugin. This overrides the default decision by core and causes the entire cascade of styles provided by WordPress to change drastically.
This change broke the layout on the home page of a client site. We were able to narrow it down and resolve with a new action on init
that resets should_load_separate_core_block_assets
back to its intended value.
IMO, should_load_separate_core_block_assets
is a heavy-handed decision and plugins should not be filtering it for all sites without setting the expectation that a major core default is being changed. Instead, plugins should be able to work around their own cascade issues with separate stylesheets or approaches that may rely on the current value of should_load_separate_core_block_assets
.
Thanks for listening! ??

It also appears from the Sugar Calendar site that this feature is now a premium feature? However the option to click to convert a visitors event time to their time zone based on local data is still there on our plugin.

]]>When trying to troubleshoot an existing issue with events I am unable to create or add a new calendar.
A red marked notification that says “Calendar not added” pops up.
Earlier today all of our existing events in our calendar have become broken, with newly added events not functioning either. If you click any event on our calendar page you get an error message saying:
” Oops! That page can’t be found.”
I have reset my wordpress cache, deactivated and reactivated the plugin, however the issue remains the same.
Hi,
My client has Editor access and they can’t view the Sugar Calendar Admin pages anymore. They see Sugar Calendar in the sidebar, but it takes them to a page titled “Taxonomy Order” (/wp-admin/edit.php?post_type=sc_event&page=to-interface-sc_event). They can’t see Sugar Calendar subpages like “Events”, “Add New”, etc. They get the “Sorry, you are not allowed to access this page.” error if Editors try to go directly to those pages. I am an Administrator, and I can see the Sugar Calendar Admin pages, but I don’t want to give my clients Admin access. Is there a setting to give Editors access to create and edit events? I looked, but could not find a setting for this. Editors were able to create and edit events before. I am using Sugar Calendar (Lite) v 3.0.0
]]>Hello Mike,
it’s me again – and I gladly accept your friendly offer of help ??
I have now tried to update the existing version 1.0.6 to 2.2.4 on my actual domain – unfortunately with little success.
The direct update in WP-Backend in the plugin administration did not work. After the update, the layout of version 2.2.4 is displayed in the frontend, but the calendar does not contain any data.
So I uninstalled version 2.2.4 and also deleted the Sugar Calendar tables wp_sc_events and wp_sc_eventmeta in phpMyAdmin to set everything up from scratch.
Then I completely reinstalled version 2.2.4, which logically cannot yet contain any data. Then I created a first data set for 01.01.24, selected my calendar “A-I-K-Kalender” as the calendar in the separate “Calendar” box and entered the forwarding (see screenshot1). Finally saved and published.
However, after clicking on “Publish”, the start and end dates are deleted in the day-related form and “All-day” is deactivated (see screenshot2). The published event is also not listed in the calendar management of the backend (Events tab) (see screenshot3), and there is also no entry for the date in question in the frontend calendar.
But: Somehow something seems to have been saved, which can be recognised by two features:
1) When I click on the “Calendars” tab, I see that my calendar already has 3 entries (see screenshot4). If I now click on the “3”, however, none is displayed in the “Events” tab (see screenshot3 above).
2) The created event also appears in the wp_posts table (see screenshot5)
So something must have been saved by creating an event, but nothing appears in the frontend calendar for the date in question and nothing appears in the backend either.
I also find it irritating that the tables wp_sc_events and wp_sc_eventmeta were not created again when the plugin wasnew installed. Does Sugar Calendar now only save in the wp_posts table?
How can I get the calendar to work? I have done the usual (deactivating all other plugins), but this has not led to any change.
If it helps, I’ll link to the site’s health report.
And you can view the empty calendar ?? of course.
Perhaps there is another solution that would also make it unnecessary to re-enter all the events existing in the old calendar: The jump from version 1.0.6 to 2.2.4 was apparently too big (see above). Presumably, however, there is a version in between with which version 1.0.6 is still compatible and version 2.2.4 is already compatible, e.g. 1.5.3 or similar. Then I could first update to this and then from this to 2.2.4 …
Many thanks and kind regards
Hello,
first of all: I am an enthusiastic user of your Sugar Calendar (Lite)! It’s great! At the moment I am still using version 1.0.6 (“Never tough a running system” ?? ), but now I would like to update to the current version 2.2.4. A direct upgrade does not seem to be possible (because then my calendar will no longer contain any data), but that is not a problem – I would re-enter all the data in the current version. Unfortunately, there are still two problems:
1) The line break no longer works for longer dates. The entry “Santo Stefano (2. Weihnachtstag)” appears
in version 1.0.6 in three lines:
Santo Stefano
(2.
Weihnachtstag)
In version 2.2.4, however, it is single-line and truncated like this:
Santo Stefano (2 …
Question: How do I get an entry displayed in full in the current version?
2) When I edit an event, I have the option in version 1.0.6 to show a box of the installed plugin Quick Page/Post Redirect, which allows me to create a 301 redirect to another page directly on the event page. In version 2.2.4 this option does not seem to exist, or am I missing something? (Theoretically, you could of course enter the /event/ address on a page of the aforementioned plugin and then the URL you actually want, but that’s a bit cumbersome).
Thank you for your attention and best regards

]]>Hi,
Thank you for an excellent plugin.
I am building a site where I would need to show the calendar in Finnish. Is there a way to translate the “previous” and “next” buttons to Finnish? Or change the buttons’ value?
I also noticed that my calendar is not showing by default the “month”, “year” and “calendar name” in the “dropdown” select fields on the left.
Could you please help me with renaming the button and showing the month, year and calendar name. Thank you very much.

]]>Hi, I have a site that hosting in Microsoft Server (Microsoft-IIS/10.0), and i installed your plugin in that site, and its working fine until I add new Events into Calendar.
When I create new Event into Calendar, it show me success message, but once i check in the view of Calendar, it doesn’t show any my added events in Calendar. Can you help me out with this?
In this image can see there are 3 events added in RED Calendar
In this image can see showing All Calendar but no events that added are showed.
I assume that “events” in sugar calendar are a custom post type.
Other custom post types appear separately in the wp admin panel but this doesn’t seem to be so for SC ,at least with the Freedom theme. That is the way other event managers and custom post generator plugins work.
I assume that this could be changed via the plugin files additional CSS but don’t have the knowledge to do this.
Is it possible?
Thanks

]]>Hello,
Nice plugin!
1) If you manage calendar in admin screen, you could see there are some filers for different timetable views, i mean (hourly, etc)
2) Also in admin mode, when you click on event link, automatically pop-up is launched showing main info of the event.
All these feautures are great for admins but also for users in frontend! But as far as I know is not possible to do in front end, anyway lite version or premium version.
Isn’t it?
thank you!
]]>I don’t see any way to select a “Calendar” (event category) for an event when using the block editor. When I switch to the Classic Editor it’s possible to select a category.
A bit more feedback as this was my first time exploring the plugin:
I’d love to find a good light-weight events plugin to use and there’s a ton of under-the-hood stuff that I love about this plugin, but I need it to fully support the Block Editor. Because of this issue, I worry the block editor hasn’t been well-tested, and so these issues are enough for me to have to not use this plugin on an upcoming project ?? Hope you can get this fixed soon!
