This plugin tried to set up its automatic blacklist update via WP-Cron and caused it to loop somehow and I had about 85000 entries like the one below in my “cron” entry in wp_options.

“Stop Referrer Spam” plugin doesn’t do anything. I’ve created a list of around 1500 websites and put it in, and plugin didn’t block any bot. They all showed up in the stats too.

I have added installed this plugin, added site.ru, which is simple to do so, it then appears in my list of blocked domains.
But site.ru still uses, spams my website and statistics.

I’s cluttered with Spam Referrer, and then tried this plugin with some doubt in mind though. ??
But found it’s working like a charm.

It works. If you are expecting it to clean up everything then you are expecting too much. It does exactly what it says it should. It works great and stops a LOT of the spam. Using this and some other fixes in my Google Analytics has made my data better.

I have no idea where the other reviews are getting their results from (if they are even genuine reviews).
It still lets referral spam through even after added to the blacklist. So many examples but a specific one is 9-reasons-for-seo.com which was already entered into the blacklist manually. Otherwise I’m not even sure what kind of blacklist it is accessing because I was getting TONS of referral spam with the plugin active and I had to enter referral URLs manually.

Yes, it works! One of the few anti referrer spam plugins that actually works. Does NOT need .htaccess. Works perfectly and it also blocked a lot of click-fraud. That’s just the icing on the cake.
