I have a large discrepancy between the stock numbers displayed on our site and what can be found in a place like Google when you search TSE:CPX, Please advise. Some details below
But still, the stock is way behind the current price. Currently, there is about a 2 dollar difference. Please advise.
]]>Hi Alexander,
Thanks for the useful plug-in. As I’m not a programmer, I’ve been struggling to figure out how to perform a few simple math calculations with the TradeVantage quotes, but have been unable to get anything I try to work. I am designing a stock research website and would like to display the YTD and overall performance for a number stocks inside a table on my WordPress site (have tested the plugin both with an HTML table and using a plugin, TablePress).
I’m using another plug-in that allows you to add Javascript functions to the header or footer and have assigned ids to the <th> elements in my table for the stock quote (used either template=”%price%” or “%raw_price%” and raw=”1″), the original price for calculating overall return (manually entered), and the closing price on 12-31-2021 (also manually entered). I’ve tried calling the JS function two different ways: an onclick=”function_name()” attribute inside a button and window.onload=”function_name()” or just onload=”function_name()” (inside a span tag now for testing, but will need to be placed inside the <th> tags, if possible.
I’ve tried enclosing the JS function in parseFloat() or parseInt(), either appending .value or omitting it, and enclosing the function in toString(), but nothing works (I either get a null reference syntax error or “NaN” as the result). test1 and test2 are testing variables (whole numbers placed inside span tags).
Here’s an example of the JS code (one attempted version):
<script>
function overallReturn()
{
var num1 = document.getElementById("startValue").value;
var num2 = document.getElementById("ytdValue").value;
var test1 = parseInt(document.getElementById("testValue1"));
var test2 = parseInt(document.getElementById("testValue2"));
document.getElementById("testResult").innerHTML = test1+test2;
document.getElementById("overallResult").innerHTML = ((num2-num1)/num1)*100;
}
</script>
Any suggestions you can provide would be greatly appreciated. Also, please let me know if there’s a way to retrive historical quotes (e.g. for calculating the 52-wk. return)?
]]>I’m having issues with the AlphaVantage API when trying to detach data for DJI and other symbols.
I keep getting this message:
[SKIP] .DJI | Stock Quote connected to AlphaVantage.co and got empty response {}. If you experience this issue multiple times, it is possible that AlphaVantage.co abandoned this symbol or stock exchange. Consider removing it from All Stock Symbols field.
Does this mean this will not work?

Awhile back you had mentioned creating a template string to display the date or time the stock was last updated. Just checking to see if that was possible.

Hi ??
I have a problem with this plugin, I have “ENW” Price on page, but prices are not updating, we have a Price 0.82$ (you can check it in right top corner hero: https://www.enwave.net) but in Google it is 0.85$. Could you help me? I have not idea what happened
Hi mate, love the plugin! Unfortunately last week it stopped working for Australian Exchange. You can try with companies like ASX:BHP, ASX:XRO etc. and it’s not throwing any error but not writing to the stock quote table in wordpress. US exchange is working fine. One thing I noticed is that in the black window below ‘Fetch Stock Data Now!’ button, for australian exchange companies, the message is showing some extra characters like ‘| {‘ I think this can be the issue? Maybe alphavantage has changed the format of results returned? Let me know if you need more info, I can try to help and investigate more. Here is the output from the black log window below the button:
Reset fetching loop and fetch data again.
Between each symbol fetch we will wait 12 second(s) to fullfill API Key Tier rules. Please wait...
[OK] ASX:MSB | {
[OK] ASX:MSB | {
[STOP] ASX:MSB: {
Fetch interrupted by user.

The stock quote LTDH on my client’s site has not been updating since 17 October 2019, I tried other symbols such as Apple and it is able to display the latest stock prices.
I also tried to force update it from the settings page, eventhough it shows update successful but there’s no update in the front-end price display.
Please help as I don’t know what’s wrong and how to fix this issue.

Johnathan
Hi,
I want to use the plugin for a french company : PVL (stock exchanges = EPA Euronext Paris)
So I use the shortcode : [stock_quote symbol=”EPA:PVL” ]
but It don’t works. I don’t understand why
Can I have help ?
Thanks
Nice plugin, thank you.
Just installed and wondering if there is a way to display only:
– stock symbol,
– current price
– percentage change (without value change in pts)
Also, is it possible to wrap the quotes in brackets in the text?
Maybe I’ll need to change the plugin code which is fine but I’d be grateful if you could point me which lines to edit.
I know a similar question has been asked before but apparently, there’s been some changes to the code, so the answer you provided earlier (below for reference) doesn’t seem to work anymore.
Cheers! ??
Earlier answer form 2+ years ago:
“If you edit stock-quote.php file and change line 408 (defined value for $quote_text variable), you can achieve what you need.”
We’re currently looking for a solution to show time for a stock in terms of date and time the quote was last updated.
Is this a feature that can be added in or does that functionality not exist?
How would you add this to the shortcode.
Is there another plugin or custom code that has this functionality?
Appreciate the help.

]]>I would like to return the Price as a number. I use this shortcode [stock_quote symbol=”MSFT” raw=”1″ template=”%raw_price%”] in Tabelpress, but I still get an error (the cell does not contain a number or expression). I red on this forum someone saying: to ensure I evaluated the short code first before applying the formula. So this works great now. Do you know how this can be done?

My site is on WordPress version 5.0.3, but I see that this plugin is only tested up to WP 4.9.9. I’m paranoid about installing untested plugins. Please could you tell me if there is a problem with the latest wordpress, or if you plan to test this version soon?

When I try the ticker directly at the API provider, it works.
In the previous version I had, 0.1.7.1, I could have an %ltrade% option. This is no longer supported in 0.2.0.4, mostly because this plugin is fetching the daily values from AlphaVantage, instead of INTRADAY. My client wants to see updates more often than just once a day, so I’d like a way to select the different feed without having to edit the php source.
(It’s not a big deal to maintain this change going forward, I’m using “git subrepo” to help with upstream plugin updates in wordpress, but this change seems like a step backwards in supported features).

Plug-in was working great, though now notice that the price retrieved is all zeros.
Tried to refresh, by forcing a data fetch, but that doesn’t seem to work. I’m not sure if there are an errors here. When I click on Fetch Stock Data Now!, I don’t get errors, rather I get a [OK] result. Seems it worked, but then it continues to output [OK] again and again on subsequent lines as if in some constant loop. I clicked on Save Changes anyhow to test, but the stock price on the webpage didn’t update or correct.
Appreciate any guidance.

It seems to fetch the data okay, but returns nothing when I actually use it, unlike the other currency exchanges working fine? Any idea. Thanks
]]>Absolutely great plugin.
I am trying to add this to a table to do calculations form the price. Making my own table of stock cost and then using Stock Quote to get the current price. However, when I return the %price% it is telling me that it is not an number. Likely because it is returning the “up”/”down” arrow and other things as well? Would love if there could just be a pure price as a field template so can use it for calculations.
Thanks
