Hi,
Are you planning an update for your plugin?
Or should we find an alternative solution?
Getting a warning in wordpress and wordfense:
The Plugin “Standard Widget Extensions” appears to be abandoned (updated 05-06-2015, tested to WP 4.2.16).
Hello,
Appreciate your great work,
I have the accordion widget set like this
Single Expansion Mode: Disable
Initial State: Leave as styled
When I open my site in chrome some times the accordion menus are closed.
I am using a text widget on some pages, the widget has some php code to
display some external php content, when I open any page with that widget
on them, the accordion tab usually closes when the page loads.
It seems to be a hit and miss in chrome while fiefox keep the accordion
the way I set it, tabs are open when page loads.
I loaded my home page, and the accordion was closed, so I opened it then
refreshed the page, the accordion is open, then i visit another page and
the accordions widgets are closed, so I open them, refresh the page and
they stay open, then go back to the home page and visit one of the other
pages and the accordions are closed again.
Ah.. you get the picture.

I have a fixed top navigation bar. So the sticky sidebar needs top margin when hit the top. Is there a way I can set the top margin in options or CSS?
Thanks!

Hi there,
Big up to you, maker of this plug in ??
Unfortunetaly it isn’t perfectly working for me,
I hope you can give me a hint on how to solve this one :
When scrolling down in a page, the sidebar doesn’t stop scrolling early enough to remain entirely visible.
About 200 pixels of the upper part of sidebar is out of view.
Any idea what’s wrong ?
Thank you in advance,
you can write back at sementality{AT}gmail.com in order for me to open gates at URL (so that you can see for yourself):

I really like what you built. It works GREAT on a PC/Mac browser, just great. BUT, I have a problem with the iPad… When I scroll and get toward the bottom of the sidebar the widgets just disappear until I stop scrolling and then it shows up.
I’ve set the recalc to 1 and 3 and pretty much every type of combination (except the right one ?? and I’ve tried both on and off for the float config. I don’t know what else to try?
Any thoughts?
My site is: https://videos.dabcc.com/ if you want more info please let me know! I would LOVE for this to work! Simply awesome plugin and feature but so far it is not my friend ??
Thank you so much,

After trying a bunch of jquery scripts for sticky sidebars, I was THRILLED to find your plugin worked almost instantly, after making only a few setting changes. Great work!
The only issue I’m seeing is when being logged in — the WordPress admin bar adds 32 pixels at the top and so the sidebar disappears slightly. For logged out users its perfect. Is there a way to offset this for the admin bar?

I am trying to figure out how to select specific widgets to apply the accordion widget functionality to.
Essentially, what do you enter in this field to select the widget?
I have tried using the wordpress div id of the widget. For example: text-8, linkcat-452, etc, but it had no effect. Am I missing something?

Hi – I’ve been trying to get your plugin to work with Genesis, and I wonder if you or any of your users can help.
As I understand it, I just need to enter the IDs of the divs which are containing the class(es) of the widgets for the accordion widgets to work.
So following is code leading to the sidebar in my Genesis-born theme:

Waterproofing Types

There is also, above the class “content-sidebar-wrap” the class “site-inner” however, whatever combination of IDs and classes I try to use, I can’t get the widget headers to appear as accordions as per your demo.
Has anyone got this working with Genesis, or indeed can you tell me with what I’ve given you so far?
Thanks

Is there a way to have the sidebars not scroll at all ? I just want the sidebar to stay fixed in the position it is in.
Thanks.

Hello!
I’m trying to use your plugin to make the sidebar fixed for a premium theme. You can find the demo of it here… https://8theme.com/demo/legenda/shop/
Exactly for that kind of page I want to have the sidebar fixed.
For the content, I think the ID is div.page-content.sidebar-position-left.responsive-sidebar-bottom
and for the sidebar – div.span3.sidebar.sidebar-left
Maybe I’m wrong, but if I’m wright that kind of long names cannot be entered in your plugin’s options.
I’ve also tried the IDs from the theme’s options – main-content / main-sidebar / shop-sidebar / left-sidebar, to no result.
Can you help me a little? Thank you in advance ??

I’ve noticed that the position of the sticky sidebar is slightly off, seemingly depending on the amount of padding contained in nested elements.

Great plugin which solved a lot of my problems, since I had to find a way to make a large list of product attributes in my WooCommerce store collapsible.
Alas, I am currently using the plugin with a WooCommerce plugin called “Advanced AJAX Layered Navigation” and I have a slight problem with this combination.
The Standard Widget Extensions plugin works great when the website (https://okage.de/tabletdb) is initially loaded, but once I choose an attribute to filter my products, the expand/collapse function stops working.
I have already investigated a little bit and I think the problem is, that the expand/collapse function only works correctly for elements already present in the DOM. So once Ajax is triggered Standard Widget Extensions fails to load properly because the DOM is not refreshed.
I would be super happy if you can help me solve this problem or maybe point me in the right direction so I can make the necessary changes myself.

I’m currently using percentage widths in my theme. I’ve tried using pixels as well, but i’m still getting a slight bit of overlapping between the main content and my sidebar. I’ve tried to remove padding and margins but still no luck. I really really love this plugin, and want to include it into my theme, so hoping I can work passed this little kink.
Any thoughts or recommendations on the best CSS layout for primary content area and the sidebar?
I’m using Display:inline-block; could that be an issue?

Hey, bravo on the plugin. I spent the last 7 days testing every single sticky js on the web. Only a few actually work logically with proper overflow scrolling and stopping inside containers. One bug I see with every sticky js i’ve found is in Fire Fox. Maybe I have a CSS conflict, but even with this plugin, i’m still seeing the sidebar completely disappear when the fixed position activates in firefox.
I’m close to just giving up on the whole sticky idea, facebook seems to have the only script on the internet that actually works, but its not available to the public.
Here is a link to my test location: https://universalschema.nativeimaging.com
I’m using the newest jquery library from google ajax, and very close to the wordpress 2013 theme.
PS, i wish the position:sticky was finalized for CSS already. It’s been 3 years in the waiting and its still a standard. GRRRR!!!
BTW, again, this plugin ROCKS!

Hello I am trying to implement this plugin and I am using twenty thirteen.
However even changing the sidebar.php code to: Does not work.

* @package WordPress

<?php dynamic_sidebar( 'sidebar-2' ); ?>

<?php endif; ?>
And I have changed the sidebar ID tag on the settings side to “mysidebar” and I see no change on my website.

I’ve installed, activated. But now… what do I do?
Accordion widgets is enabled by default, but I don’t see what I have to do next.
Eg. I have a sidebar link to my page entitled: Articles. The Articles page has its first 2 articles and many more to come. I want the links to the individual articles to be accordioned under the sidebar’s Articles link – to open up when the mouse is hovered…..

This is a great plugin, and its Sticky Sidebar is something I had really needed. Many thanks.
Question: What would be the simplest way for me to be able to select one or more widgets to be excluded from “Accordion Widgets > Enable”?
For example: I would like my Analog Clock and Theme My Login widgets to already be expanded whenever anyone visits my site.
