I’m downgrading my review to 2 stars. I originally gave it 3 because this is a great idea that is very needed and it’s pretty close to working. But the reason for the downgrade to 2 stars is that there is absolutely no developer support to answer questions or resolve issues – just users asking questions and getting crickets for a response. I imagine if you were a developer, you could likely fix these issues yourself but, then again, if you were a developer, you likely would have written your own plugin. Maybe updates will fix the issues?

This plugin is definitely needed. But it has a few bugs to be worked out. For some reason, I receive 2 emails any time there is a post or update to a post. I also manually removed my email after initial testing but I still continue to receive emails anyway. And I would agree as a feature for subsequent versions to include to option to users to unsubscribe themselves. I’m sure if these were worked out, this plugin would be featured on the Dashboard.

First off, this plugin solved my exact feature request by providing the ability for visitors to subscribe via email to new posts in those categories. The problem is that there’s no way for subscribers to unsubscribe without emailing the staff and asking to have their subscription removed manually. I’m sure there’s a technical reason for this, however, it’s hard to overlook.
