Uploaded and checked that the files are in place. Tried both methods. Checked Text Records via dns lookup to confirm. Waited an additional 12hrs too. Any ideas?

I’ve been using your free plugin for years without any issues. This week I received notice that there are 30 days remaining to renew my certificate, but after uploading the files to the well-known/acme-challenge folder as always, I received a message that varification failed and I should try DNS.

I followed the instructions for DNS verification, but it too failed.

What should I do know? What is causing the problem? The only change I am aware of with my site is that GoDaddy just migrated my hosting, but I checked and the DNS A listing is updated properly.

I have followed the instructions, although they seem a bit outdated for GoDaddy as a webhost as they do not support TTL values less than 600 seconds. The instructions in the right sidebar show to use TTL values of 300 seconds or less. The linked video instructions show a much longer TTL being used though, I think maybe 10800, but I don’t remember off the top of my head. What officially should I use for GoDaddy hosting?

I removed all old _acme-challenge and _acme-challenge.www TXT records since my site is no longer showing secure and I deactivated the plugin. I deleted the plugin. I reinstalled the plugin and activated it. It will no longer go past the setup point of letting me choose “Which domain verification process would you like to use?” I keep getting the “LetsEncrypt API error. Click here to report an issue.” at the top which is just a secure https contact page to email SSLZen.

I tend to create multisite installations and I’ve been using one of your competitors, but am having a lot of errors with them. I know you don’t issue wildcard SSLs, but wondering if I could use SSL zen to issue one SSL for each site in the network?

For example:
maindomain.com
site1.maindomain.com
etc.

I know this isn’t ideal, but might be a workaround for me. Thanks!

Followed all the correct steps as usual to verify with http method and it told me I couldn’t do it. Then tried the DNS method and it greyed out the “scan” button, but when I hit “next” it gives me a LetsEncrypt API error. Now giving me API error for http method too.

I’m with the free plan. Any idea how to solve this?

I just ran the most recent update. It gives an error and it says I have to check my administrative email address. Does anyone else got the issue? Maybe a new update is necessary

After migrating my WordPress (WP) website from a virtual server to a hosted WP solution, I wasn’t able to activate the plugin. I have deleted and reinstall the plugin but still wasn’t able to activate the plugin. My plugin version 4.4.2

I have a quick question (maybe silly but best to check). So I paid for and installed the SSL Zen Lifetime certificate plugin, and its working OK but…when I click onto Setup under Renew SSL Certificate it says 90 days and then has a Renew Certificate button below.

My question is, as I have paid for the lifetime one, do I just click Renew Certificate every 90 days or when its close to 0 days to renew? I just thought as a paid version I didnt need to, but of course have no issue if I need to do this. Just wanted to check.

I installed the free version of ssl zen. now it shows that I have premium and cannot use it without updating the newest version, which I cannot install without a premium license.
what can I do? I’m happy with the simple free version, but can’t see how to downgrade without uninstalling and reinstalling.

I have your basic SSL certificate plugin, latest version. I have successfully renewed 3 times since installing it. For some reason I am unable to renew this time.

My domain’s host is on godaddy. After adding the _acme-challenge text record and pressing “Scan DNS record”, I got a retry request after 5 minutes. I tried this 4 times over about 40 minutes. I still have be unable to progress past this step.

Any suggestions?

After a little bit of work (mostly in finding the right spots in CPanel), I got the certificate installed.
* Zen SSL says it is up and running, all good.
* My website says it has a valid cert with dates from today to 90 days from now.

I still have the Not Secure warning. WhyNoPadlock says, “Mixed Content – Pass You have no mixed content.” A few months ago I ran the “SSL Insecure Content Fixer” plugin to try to make sure everything was https (then I deactivated it). I did have Real Simple SSL installed but I have deactivated since I wasn’t sure if there’d be conflict.

It’s been a couple of hours now (as I was allowing time for everything to catch up/propagate/etc).

Any ideas when might be wrong?

My website is using a security service for protection against online attacks. This process is automatic. You will be redirected once the validation is complete.It Protected by StackPath. My website has been down for 2 days and don’t know what to do.

I have 4.0.4 version of SSLZen plugin and I renewed my certificate few days ago. Yesterday I got an email “Let’s Encrypt certificate expiration notice for domain <my domain name>”.
I have researched on what to do and how to fix it but I am not sure I can do it on my own.
Should I ignore this email or how I can solve the problem?

Hi,
I was using SSL Zen, the free version for months with no issus.

I decided to move my site from a subdomain to its own website. I deactivated SSL Zen before the moove.

Now when I activate the plugin I am unablem to access my site. I can however go in via godaddy file manager to delete the plugin, so I can access the site again, but whenever I activate, i can’t go any further.

I even uninstalled and reinstalled, but that doesn’t help.

How do I get back to the state where I can configure SSL Zen from the beginning?

I’m trying to download the ssl free certificate and when I open it it is directing me to the files on my computer and not to the correct scene.

I tried to renew my free license and both HTTp and DNS methods failed to verify. I updated to the most recent SSLZen version and I waited overnight to try the verification again and nothing. The Host is GoDaddy. This has worked so well fo me for so long. I was about to get the paid version but now I don’t know.

More problems after working over several days last month to get our SSL certificate renewed.

After we thought this was fixed, a user tried go to our website and got a Security risk page (SSL_ERROR_BAD_CERT_DOMAIN). I contacted SSL Zen Support who requested I go to the admin page and set up a temp password, so I tried to log onto the wp admin page and got the same error page. Emailed SSL Zen support, including screenshots of the error page, but haven’t heard back. So I thought I’d post my issue here.

We only renewed the SSL certificate a few weeks ago, I did something wrong when loading it and ended up paying for it twice, asked for a refund. The refund wasn’t processed so I followed up four days ago, the refund was processed, and the next day, the user contacted me, unable to get onto the site (as mentioned above).

Is the next step figuring out a way to access the wp dashboard remotely?

I have recently had to change my domain’s home directory on the same server. Everything continues to work as normal, but the https:// returns the ‘Warning: Potential Security Risk Ahead’ error now.

Is there a way to re-establish the old certificate now that the home directory has changed from home/old_dir/website/, to home/new_dir/website/ ?

I am having a problem viewing my site on mobile devices, it is saying that my site is not safe and that Your Connection Is Not Private. I have just recently downloaded SSL Zen zip file and activated it. Could you help me to figure out how to get mobile devices to accept my site.

It is strange the Zen SSL plugin suggests loading the Really Simple SSL plugin to work with it, but the Really Simple shows an alert and says to remove Zen SSL.

I’ve used this site for quite a while and never had any issues but recently I have a couple sites where my Mobile Android is saying the site is unsafe. All tests on SSL come back as a good SSL certificate. Any Ideas? Take a look and see if you get this unsafe alert. fumccp.org

Is there problem with ESET NOD32 antivirus?
They said the SSL is not valid and they block the site, but I can see it with other computers or this can be problem with GoDaddy hosting if the changed something?

Let’s Encrypt’s Root Certificate has expired. We have updated our plugin to use the new Root Certificate. Please upgrade immediately and go through the setup process again.

If you upgrade the plugin and are facing issues, please uninstall the plugin first and then reinstall it again.
