The best object cache so far. I’ve tried several object cache before this; APCu,Memcached,Redis, this is the most compatible with no errors and high hit rate in my wordpress sites.
Thank you so much

Effiecient object caching for those on servers that don’t have Redis/Memcache. Keep up the good work!

Very helpful! Two clients wanted to stay on the cheap hosting. This plugin helped to get better results. Thank you!

As I write this, I’m waiting for a question in the Support group whether I can use this in conjunction with WP Rocket, which has helped on the frontend of the website, the customer facing bit. But that plugin does nothing to a sluggish Admin area on our shared hosting. SQLLite Object Cache has absolutely transformed how our WP experience is not, and the “statistics” allow us to track some of this. This is a dream plugin and quite quickly now become a part of our starter-kit for any WP install.

Thanks Ollie for this great plugin!
This saves a lot of cost for distributed caching which is unnecessary for single site hosting.
Hope in the future, the plugin will have more settings or features likes:

Wow! I am absolutely astonished how this plugin works extremely well. Thank you, @olliejones for coming up with this idea and making it work flawlessly. Redis Object Cache would break my sites constantly. I still haven’t had any issues with this Object Cache, and I beg you @olliejones to please keep it this stable. You are truly a hero!

Works very well in environments where you can’t use redis. I am having a hard time understanding the statistics page, but the plugin does work, which is evident from admin and frontend pages loading noticeably faster and being more responsive than before when I am logged in.

I rarely share reviews, but this plugin deserves one. I’ve always faced issues with my website resources, often noticing high CPU usage. After installing this plugin, resource consumption dropped dramatically. I never expected such a result. The developer is also very kind and helpful in case any issues arise. I highly recommend installing this plugin if you’re experiencing high resource usage for your website. Additionally, I suggest following the suggestion “I want to store my cached data in a more secure place. How do I do that?” posted in the plugin description for security and further performance enhancements.

For me, Redis Object Cache was super resource (CPU) hungry, Docket Cache – Object Cache Accelerator was hit and miss (I had backend issues on a complex site), and SQLite Object Cache works like a charm and the site is faster. I don’t have detailed stats for you, but it took me no time to notice the difference. I now have some plugins to swap. Thanks loads to the developers! Much appreciated!

Decided to give this a try after using Redis for a year. Within the last few months, Redis kept crashing on me, on two different servers, and not sure why. Sites were always going down. I just moved to a different hosting plan anyways from VPS to Shared hosting to save money, so Redis isn’t an option for my anymore anyways. But yeah, installed this and am very impressed. The site feels much snappier in the admin. And no more dreaded random site downtime. Very nice!

I almost switched my hosting plan to more expensive Litespeed server, so I could fix Object Caching. No need with this plugin. So easy and so effective, couldn’t believe it, when I refreshed website for the first time. Thank you, awesome plugin!

Super Plugin
With Redis Object Cache → On Post Page → Average Query 60
With Memcached Object Cache → On Post Page → Average 50
With This Plugin → On Post Page → Average 30
Tested with Query Monitor Plugin

Incredible!!! Efficiency is much better than simple Memcached
Thank you for such a wonderful plugin, develop it, good luck

Great plugin, 1 thing. It exposes .sqlite database object cache files on non apache servers without clear warning of this in the setup docs. .ht or .sqlite file extensions MUST be blocked by the server to ensure this is safe. E.g. For NGINX,
location ~.(sql|sql.gz|htaccess|ht|sqlite|sqlite-shm|sqlite-wal)$ {
deny all;
return 444;
}
On further look, it does advise about storing the file in some other location than the webroot. But since the default is to store the files in wp-content, I recommend we add some example cfg like this to the docs, would you please consider it?
I think it would save a lot of folks out there.

When no Memcached, no Redis available, this is the obvious solution.

This is a genuinely very useful plugin, and produces noticeable performance gains, it’s perfect for shared-hosting and a must install on any large website.
Thanks to @ollijones for creating this plugin, making it open-source, and supporting the community.
Also check out @ollijones other WordPress plugins.

Been looking all night for a solution… memcached and others are too complicated for Windows. Thank you so much and please keep this plugin updated!!

This plugin speeds up your site considerably without the hassle of installing Redis or Memcached. In fact, I think this should be part of WordPress core! ??
I’ve been testing this on a busy site (3000-5000 visitors/day with many logged-in users), and it’s doing fine.
I used the Redis Object Cache plugin before this one, but I find this one is easier to manage (no Redis installation required) and contain (the cache files are hidden files within your wp-content dir). Thanks to the cache files inside your site’s dir, installing this one on all your sites is more manageable. To illustrate: when you have multiple sites, you must manually administer and change the database number with the Redis Object Cache plugin, and it’s not a setting in the UI but a config file change. (And: Redis is limited to 16 databases).
I don’t have hard stats, but the site doesn’t feel slower or faster than using Redis for caching. I do think it helps a lot when your server has plenty of spare memory, so Linux’s file caching system can cache the SQLite db.
I glanced over the code (I’m an experienced software engineer), and the plugin seems well-written.
If you’re looking for a quick and easy way to speed up your entire site, including the admin area), this is a no-brainer.

So far I’ve experimented with object caches using Redis, APC, or static files.
However, I couldn’t get the results I wanted, such as problems with server requirements and problems after using it for a while.
And finally found it! One of my first WP plugins to install.
I hope this continues for a long time.

Honestly I was skeptical at first because of the low number of installs, but given the lack of options for object caching on a lot of shared hosting services that I cant control with a lot of client sites I decided to give it a shot on a few.
This plugin is amazing, it helped turn a 15 second load on back end page edits into 3-4 seconds on a plugin heavy site running on an overpopulated shared host that I wont name here, but it was honestly awful, one of the worst I’ve ever used and a surprisingly big name. I was brought in to try and optimize a monster on this occasion and it helped me turn it into some form of a workhorse again for my client, with almost no setup, toggled a checkbox or two and clicked save.
This plugin needs more downloads, there are so many sites running on garbage hosting that could use this to make the back end a working environment again.
I will be using this on any site where I do not have redis or memcache available from here on out, cheers to the developer, you are an true WP Wizard.

Thanks Ollie for this great plugin!
I use this in conjunction with your other plugin Index WP MySQL For Speed and have installed these on quite a lot of websites with great success. Each and every one has increased speed.
It is faster and it feels faster and that’s all the client cares about ??

Is the best and simple plugin.

I have tested a lot of plugins. And so far this has given me the best results.
I can’t believe it!
Also I like the way the developers explained this plugin. How he decribed things and referenced work of others.
I say Bravo! ??

Very lightweight and works, but I don’t know if it’s this plugin, or something else that’s refreshing the Site Health Plugin to rescan every day or less.

I like it, no problems, wp v6.1.1 & php v8.0.

This is the plugin, the community of shared-hosting users have waited for without even knowing it.
Thanks to @ollijones the plugin author for making this possible and also for tagging it a community-plugin and doing friendly support here on the forum as well.
Great!
