The software itself is decent, but has a few annoying glitches (like checking off the “gst” checkbox doesn’t always turn it off, I have to click the “save” button twice to do anything, stuff like that), but I would have given four stars if it weren’t for how SLOW it is. It takes several minutes to save, and while I am saving it seems to take up every thread of memory my website has. I can’t do ANYTHING else while waiting for these invoices to save. Opening a PDF? Takes like 2 minutes. It’s a real pain in the butt, and interrupts my work flow quite a bit

I first would like to thank support for being spontaneous to supporting their customers even the free ones. I had the privledge to work with other online invoice systems and very few are able to do what Sprout Invoices can do.
The feature that I enjoy is the ability to send my clients a text message for them to review agreement and make payments.

I am extremely disappointed with this software. I paid to use it for years and ignored the many bugs, but recently they did an “update” and I could no longer process payments. After days of tech support and not being able to accept payments, when I got it to work, they did another update and once again I was no longer able to accept payments.? When you create an invoice, the default state is paid, so if you save without going thru the step of marking it unpaid, it will save as paid and then you have to delete it and start over > highly aggravating. If you export your data, the import format is completely different from the export file, so it is complicated to move information without understanding SQL.? STAY AWAY FROM THIS SOFTWARE!!! I have a whole list of bugs. You don’t want all of these hassles when it comes to handling your money.
After months of trying to get help, on 6/14/24 they told me that the latest update fixed the problems, but all of the new bugs were still there. It seems they keep rolling out buggy updates without beta testing first.

Sorry, I really tried to love this plugin, bought the pro version. Just not worth it, even as “affordable” as it is. Which is 30% more for me because I’m in Canada.
Issues: (in Pro version bundled addons and some basic stuff in the free version)
The principle is cool. I love the premise of having invoices made in WordPress environment. But this plugin lacks a true time tracker (this one includes a manual place where you can type in how much time you spent and some notes and log the time, but it doesn’t ACTUALLY track the time–like a start and stop watch as I would have expected.)
The look and feel is as though it’s cobbled together with ACF. It does not work with the page builder that I tried styling it with (DIVI).
I’d like invoicing to be a feel-good, happy experience,(because invoicing means you’re gonna get money, right?!?) and this plugin does not come close to achieving that.

basics work fine, but has bugs with extensions, like the recurring invoice which is very buggy on our install, so 1 star lost for that, the other lost because they disable pdf export after license expired, most plugins charge for support only, to disable functionality on someones site remotely and automatically is unforgivable, will never trust the authors again.

Have 2 support tickets – I am a paid customer – and have had no response to any ticket in 2 days. If this is priority support i feel sorry for those with basic support.

still no responses from support. I even offered them to use my twilio account to resolve issue and nothing.
Software has so much potential – but HORRIBLE support response kills the potential.

I have been a user of this plugin for a couple of years, today we experienced a problem with stripe payment processor functions, and I worked with the support team to fully identify the problem and they were able to fix my issue within a few hours.
I highly recommend this plugin because it does everything we need from initial invoicing to receiving deposits and recording them, the automatic reminders for full payment is a game changer for us, not to mention the dashboard where overdue invoices are due and a complete breakdown of the figures.
I could go on and on with the functions that make my life easier but ill leave that for your to discover ??

I’ve been looking to replace outdated Freelance invoicing software for long time when I found Sprout Invoicing. I found installation easy and linking to Stripe also easy. Managing clients and creating invoices and billable tasks very straightforward. I did run into a couple of issues and contacted support. I received prompt responses and support was able to fix both issues. I would recommend Sprout to other Freelance designers. Tech support has been great with even providing custom code to achieve what I requested.

<p>I utilize the paid version of Sprout along with several of the included add-ons. Around two month ago, one of the add-ons which allows you to add Payment Processor specific fees to invoices stopped working when processing Stripe payments.</p>
<p>As a result, clients were able to pay invoices without the percentage fee being added on that I configured for this payment processor. I immediately reported the issue and it was confirmed as a bug and I was told it would be resolves soon.</p>
<p>Two months later, it has not been resolved and I have lost over $1500 dollars due to the fee I configured not being added!</p>
<p>This is a premium, paid plugin which should include premium, paid support. I guess not.</p>

HTML notification button doesn’t do anything,so notification templates won load, bugs using their add-on with project panorama, no pay button and after couple weeks nothing resolved so using our old payment system, may be you’d like to wait a bit longer until it has all it’s compatibility issues improved.

Sprout Invoices has the ability to do almost anything for your business. It is so well packed with hooks and action filters that you can tie it into custom APIs and configure to your heart’s content. And, best of all, the support team are fast and responsive and really able to help.
Pro Plugins annoy me – unless they are designed for integration and come with great support. Sprout does both!

I don’t enjoy giving negative reviews. This time though, I must. I have had nothing but problems with this plugin. I’ve encountered fatal errors, problems with the app distorting my logo, and problems with the plugin-recognizing forms from the form plugin that they recommend. It’s been a rough 48 hours since I bought this thing and I am requesting a refund. All of this was encountered on a fresh installation of WordPress using only these plugins: Sprout Invoice, Sprout Billing and WeForms which they recommend as a partner. Super Disappointing.

The plugin just works, the support channel for the Pro version is excellent and quick, the customization is easy, particularly if you’re a developer yourself and don’t mind working with template overrides.
Highly recommend this plugin (and the Pro version) for anyone looking to merge their invoicing and estimating with their live site. Clients love the fact that they can just view and approve their estimates online.

We purchased this in June, it is now September. Have we sent out an invoice yet? No.
why?
Several issues with PDF plug-in, issues with VAT and taxing displaying correctly for different business types… simple accounting stuff, for an invoice plug-in? Fed lots of information fed back on general invoicing layout and feel of how to generate invoices. The majority of the issues remains unanswered since June…
First update, we had conflicts with gravity forms not being editable even though we were not using sprout with gravity.
Support is slow to respond, like others it was several days after the 14 day cooling off period before we starting to get anything and even then it wasn’t what I would class as a quality paid for support service.
After losing love with the plugin I decided to revisit it to see if I can make it work again, oh but wait, a software update. This boots you out of the paid version back to the basic free version where you cannot access any of the add-ons. Contacted support and they told me to re-enter my license key, and that other users have had the same experience… for the life of me I cannot find anything anywhere obvious to re-enter the license details on the plug-in menu. The only option is the big obvious “upgrade now” which wants payment then and there.
Overall my experience hasn’t been great. I’ve spent time trying to make something that cost me to buy to work, but it hasn’t. I’ve tried to offer suggestions, I’ve tried to work with support, but It feels like I try for a month. Give up… see an update and hope it’s been ironed out, but then find it seems to take a step back, and I’m back at the beginning again.

I used this plugin for 4 years for most of that time it was always reliable and support was prompt and now it’s dead! I can’t create an invoice it just hangs, it’s more interested in pushing me to give it a review (Never used to give nagging popups) I’m unable to filter reports by date which had always been a useful feature. No response from the support system. No way to export 4 years of clients.

The issues with Sprout Invoices vs rating on WordPress don’t match up. The review left by Igloo3 matches our experience.
Installed the plugin months ago and had issues from the start with features that failed to work. Took a week for support to respond, but by that time already found workarounds and applied fixes. Even simple things like placeholder text in the code was missing, but support instisted there wasn’t any problems problem and wouldn’t help unless we sent a clone of the entire website.
Just updated the plugin and even the update had errors and the plugin was disabled. For the price of the plugin, expected better.

I’ve bought a licence for a plugin that has many issues.
After 3 months of opened tickets , they couldn’t find the solution so instead, the offer a refund.
This plugin costs more than 100usd, this is completed bullshit. I have never seen such a bad support.
One advice : don’t buy it and don’t loose your time.

I have been using Sprout Invoice as a paid member for at least 2 years. It definitely takes sometime to get used to as there are a lot of options and good understanding of them can make your workflow a lot simpler. Although, I have not been taking full advantage of its integration capabilities, Sprout Invoice integrates with dozens of popular plugin and I’m only now going to start using it with Gravity Form.

I’ve been using this plugins for years now and I must say that it’s the best i’ve seen so far when you need to generate invoices.
The sad part is that the purchased version I have doesn’t work well on the newest Worspress versions since it’s an outdated one, but i’m willing to get a new license as soon as i get a chance.

I’ve been looking for a way for clients to login and check all their Invoices and payments online without having to constantly email me for a record. This plugin solves it.
Invoice Input is pretty much straight forward
Adding payments is good and creates a history trail of payments.
Estimates do its job.
Currently working on adjusting all text notifications so the preview on Gmail shows the majority of the important information like Payment Received showing the Client Name and Payment Received in the first line so you don’t have to open the email on Gmail.
Still integrating the plugin into my website and will see if everything goes smoothly.

Also extensible in case you want to customize certain elements beyond the useful front-end changes that are easy to make. Highly recommend.
