Hi!
I’m testing the plugin to use it on my site, but I can’t get it to work.
I saw the importance of the .entry-content class, and in my post it is present, but even so the Spoken Word does not appear.
Any idea?
Thank you!
Guina.-

Hello Weston,
I really love your HTML5 Audio Read-Along project! I had a question about it though- would there be a way to have the text be selectable / for it to be able to be selected and then be copied, for example? It is only letting me select it and press copy when I pause the audio. I am on mobile, and I don’t have access to my computer right now, so I’m not sure if it’s just a mobile issue or one on all (or multiple) devices.
Would you be open to please adding that feature in exchange for a donation/payment from me? If so, we could work out the details beforehand, and I would pay in advance.
Also, do you know if that project is screen reader accessible? Also, would adding a text enlargement option, a color contrast toggle, and other accessibility features be a possibility?
Thank you so much!!
(By the way, the reason that I am posting about that here as opposed to in another location is because you were kind enough to notify me in a thread months back when I asked if Spoken Word allowed for some features present in your HTML5 Audio Read-Along project.)
Hi!
Thanks for the plugin.
Im trying install in WordPress.
But the Spoken word doesnt show. Only when I open the customizer i can see it, but not in front-end.
So, I inspected with Chrome, and there′s this error:
spokenWord is not defined at (index):79
?How can I fix it?
Hello. Thank you so much for the amazing work you’ve done. I wanted to know if it was possible to use Spoken Word (or any of your other plug-ins) to have words become highlighted as they are spoken (either by manually syncing, using a timed text file, or automatically syncing), in an audio recording instead of by text-to-speech.
If you do not have any plug-ins that do this, do you know of any that do? I’ve been having a hard time finding something like that.
Thank you so much.
Hello Weston, This plugin is fantastic. Very remarkable user experience compared to other text to speech plugins. I’m currently using the plugin on my e-learning website.
However, I want the feature enabled on mobile devices in spite of the problems with the text selection on touch devices. I have played around with the spoken_word.js.map file but still not showing up on mobile. Can you please advise on what to add and remove from the code?
I also want to put the plugin on autoplay such that it starts reading automatically whenever a page is loaded. Can you please assist with that?
Hi
First of great plugin but i have few questions.
I have questions regarding this demo: https://github.com/westonruter/html5-audio-read-along
1) I have 30MB audio and have ready all the text as per audio. so how can i make json and csv file to work same as your given demo here https://westonruter.github.io/html5-audio-read-along/ ?
2) Suppose i have approx 500+ episodes then how can i create required files for those episodes ?
3) 1In those days a decree went
so suppose i have 2 page content then need to set this way ?
looking forward to hearing from you soon.
Thanks
Firstly I want to thank you for creating this gem of a plugin and your time investing in a code so unique only that only a few tend to appreciate.
I have been for looking for a text to speech plugin such has this for long,
Issues found while testing this:
1) I noticed, it has been a while the plugin had any major update is the plans on making the plugin more responsive for the future
2) I saw the plugin does not show on mobile. The truth is that most users now at days use their mobile phones and tables for browsing. With the lack of mobile functionality, this coded plugin seems never to shine and stand out.
The author could you kindly assist in this.
I wish I would assist in a few codes but am new to PHP and still learning so, for now, all areas I may be of assistant such as code modification would be limited.
3) I wanted to ask if the author could assist me on the way to implement the female voice as the default voice.
4) I wanted to ask if the author could assist me in exempting the comments area from being spoken out.
I noticed the plugin also reads the comment section area, [please could you kindly share a code that could be kept on the child theme function to exclude this
In all, I want to thank you in advance for the time dedicated to make this plugin existent and time pot to view all support tickets Thank you
First of all: great and simple plugin! I think the plugin works well for a certain amount of people, but i might be not the only one who need some options to customize the buttons. It would be nice to:
– place the buttons manually in a theme with a template tag or shortcode
– add custom html as buttons (i don’t know if it’s possible, but if we could work with just adding #ID’s to an element to make it work since it’s almost all javascript?)
What do you think?
Thanks anyway!
Really like the Spoken Word plug-in, but would like to customize the buttons (make them a bit smaller) and get a handle on their placement.
I am getting error after using this plugin on the website.
Getting – index.js:214 Uncaught (in promise) system_not_supported
One one particular page it was working fine
Awaiting your support. Thanks!

Hello,
Is there a way to enable this plugin on iphone and android. I have an iphone and it is not showing the play button on my iphone, but it is on my desktop? If there is a way please guide me through the steps to do so.
Thank You
How do you setup Spoken Word ? I can not find any settings for it, and I’m not sure what needs to be done to be able to include Spoken Word in my blogs.
My theme is Avada. I do have the page titles on and sticky header with the logo and menu as well. I have removed these, however Spoken Word still does not show.
Sorry for my ignorance on this.
Thanks Weston,
Mike
