Is this still being maintained at all? Right now, I can get it to upload and display a soundslides zip file but I have no control over where the show appears.
]]>The Soundslide setting screen says I should upload my .zip file to /wp-content/uploads/soundslide
But that’s not working for me. Is there a different location we’re supposed to use on a WP Network setup?
]]>Hi,
I’ve uploaded a soundslides file to my site and it is playing on desktop computers, but not on smartphones or tablets. It seems to be an issue on both iphones and androids. The soundslides piece was created using a MAC. Can anyone help?
]]>Hi,
In your instructions for using the SoundSlides plug-in, you write “Upload your Soundslides project as you do with any other media. Then you advise “You can click on ‘insert into post’ to add the soundslide within the blog post.”
Which file in particular do you mean? WordPress doesn’t appear to want me to upload an entire project and it won’t allow me to upload the swf file.

I’m the adviser of a college’s student-run news publication and we use a lot of Soundslides; however, to have to train a student (online editor) each semester how to FTP and such is really added work. I’ve searched for comprehensive, step-by-step “how to” for this plugin to no avail. Am I missing it? If it’s available will the developers (or another user) please provide a hotlink? I’m a web designer by trade, (but not a developer) but have to train non-technical journalism students procedures and it would be nice to have a technical documentation where I can send them for a resource. For now, I’m just using the standard FTP the Zip file then grabbing/posting the embed code, so although we have this plugin installed, we still aren’t using it as I don’t understand how it works to be able to explain it to a student. Thanks, from feeling dumb in Southern Calif!! ??
]]>New version causes inserting media into posts to yield a short code like this:
[soundslides width="0" height ="0" id="15991"]
Major issue.
Replacing code in soundslide.php with that from 1.2 fixes error, but clearly there were changes made in 1.2.1 that were intended to be purposeful…
Changes made to js/jquery.jplayer.js seem to be fine when left in place.
]]>Just a friendly fyi that this plugin no longer works, which is a shame. The install instructions no longer work, and the instructions below are not possible to do with current version (3.7.1).
-> After the upload is complete,go to menu ‘settings/soundslides settings’ Enter the name of zip file (including the zip extension) below and click attach. Your project will be available in the media library and you can then insert the project into your page or post.
-> After the upload is complete, click the “scan folder for projects” button. Once the scan is finished, select the projects you would like to import to the media library. Your soundslides projects will be available in the media library and you can then insert the project into your page or post.
The only thing visible on the soundslide settings page is a blue “Attach” button, but none of the fields to add the slideshow are there, and there is no integration with the Media Library to “scan folder for projects” or a button to do so.
]]>Hello,
I installed this plug in, then realized it doesn’t work with the current version of WP. When will this be upgraded?
Thanks,
]]>I have been unable to get this plugin to work I upgraded to the latest version of WordPress perhaps rashly and I now discover that it may not work with this, that said it was not working with the earlier one that I was using prior to the upgrade.
Can you please let me know what to do? When I try and find the file via the soundlides settings page there is nothing that I can add – ie there is no way for me to scan for files or to input the name of the files.
Best wishes
Pete
]]>I have downloaded the plugin and activated it but when I try to upload a file I can see no icon to allow it.
Thus I use the add media icon but when I do I cannot find the file. The screenshots shown related to soundslides do not appear either.
Can someone tell me the process that I need to go through and illustrate it with some screenshots.
I would be very greatful.
Best wishes
Pete
]]>Hello:
My class is using the Soundslides plugin to integrate slideshows into their posts. It works great except I cannot figure out how to place the slideshow in a specific location in the post. No matter where I put the code, the show always displays at the top of the post. Is it possible to place the slideshow in between or after text, for example?
Thanks.
]]>Hi,
I’m having several problems with the plugin and now have what looks like a Safari browser issue on my Mac. (running 10.7.4 on a MacBook Pro – I haven’t tested this on other computers yet)
two examples:
https://www.willyurman.com/stories/?p=356
1. works fine in Chrome
2. cuts off part of the show on Safari
https://www.willyurman.com/stories/?p=294
1. Is cut off in Chrome, but plays
2. crashes Safari with a long popup menu displaying a screen full of code. I have to force quit every time.
any help would be great.
thanks

Hi,
I’m trying to get the new WordPress plugin to work for me. I installed the plugin and activated it.
I tried uploading the zip file of an existing project’s publish to web. It was larger than the max file size, So I uploaded it manually to my server, placing it in the contents folder of the WordPress folder.
The plugin didn’t recognize the zip file. I tried using the unzipped publish_to_web. I tried pointing to the folder, to the index.html and to the soundslides.xml – the index.html path gives me a link that works, but I assumed the show would load in the page directly,am I wrong??
Here’s a link to the page:
https://www.willyurman.com/stories/wp-content/uploads/2012/08/bestkids2010/index.html
I’ve put both the zip file, bestkids2010.zip and the unzipped folder bestkids2010 in the same folder
Am I doing something wrong? or is this how it’s supposed to work?
many thanks,
Will
